I have been charging 200/% since I made Master. Since then I have seen alot of smugglers raising their prices as well. It will be some time b4 all convert or stay staggnant. Its my time that they are paying for.

well this is just my 2 cents. I do not slice for the public anymore. I just got tired of people being a$$holes if I got a sub-par slice. I got fed up. I dont need to deal with peoples BS for a mere 3k. 3000 credits is chump change and it's not worth it. Now I will only slice if I am asked to and I tell them I charge 10k. If they don't like it, oh well.

The main thing that really got me so mad about the price is doc buffs like someone mentioned. People will pay 10-15k for an enhancement that lasts for 3 hours, but they expect you to take 3k for an illegal service that will permanently enhance their weapons and armor. That is insane, and I will not take part.

I am in total agreement with the prices of slicing and other smuggler goods need to be raised. But we all need to work together on this. I finished master smuggler yesturday, and I sliced a bunch of stuff for 6k a each. Not one person complained even the one that got a 13% slice. I am thinking that 6k is too cheap also. For the shape of the economy in the game, when everyone is spending 10k for buffs that last only 3 hours, we should be at 10k per slice. Charge less if you are not a master smuggler. I had one guy complain yesturday at that was over locked container. I told him to talk to a guy that needs xp. We have almost priced ourselves to the point it is hard to make money. We should be selling crates of muon gold for 10-12k or even more per crate. I sell them like htat all the time, but do get the occational I can find it for 6k. I do still get a lot of people that pay 10k . I told a guy that was the price and he gave me 15k. To sell muon gold at 6k just doesn't even make sense to me. If we all start raising our prices like dr's have, there will be no questioning it. This is a great profession that we can make a lot of money at, but we all have to work together. We should also be selling crates of clamps for 10k each also. For the amout of resources it takes, and to run the factory that is a good price for it. Knives take 1/3 the resources so they should go for 1/3 the price. These prices are not outragous. These are very resonable compared to everything else in the game. When you have armorsmiths charging 80k+ for full sets of composit armor, most being well over 100k.6k and up to 45mil for weapons. We already talked to docs who sell a temporary buff. Crates of brandy go 100k and up.

Lets start making this profession worth our time in being smugglers and master smugglers. You have to remember it takes time and resources to make the stuff we sell and use. Lets start charging like it.

I was slicing for 4K per slice, and Smuggler was my first love and my first holo. But eventually, once I got up to 1.5 million cr, I began to really get bored of slicing for people and started raising my prices to 5K or 6K a slice.

Came to the point when I just gave up slicing for other people because of the hassle, the constant tells asking for slices, and the fact that Im a bloomin millionaire! Why am I still tinkering with slices if Im a millionaire.

I'm sorry to say that I , Ive become a bit of a holo grinder now, and have had to loose my Smuggler status. But I haven't really got regrets about that. I gave up slicing, Muon doesn't sell, and faction point selling is a waste of time in my opinion. Without any of these things, I'm not really a smuggler, so I had no qualms in moving those points from Smuggler to Carbineer.

I think smuggler is a great proffession, but only as a starting proffesion, when your desperate to become a millionaire. Once you get there , the buzz of Smuggler diminishes.

Hello all. First I want to say that I think it an honor to be involved in this discussion. I feel that the points are well made on both sides, but for their to be an active rate increase there has to be some solidarity among us, the actual slicers. I think that folks do get their slices done cheaper than chargeable, but why not collectively suggest and vote on systems. The set prices for the result ranges (i.e. 8k for 34% and up), the flat 3k/slice of old, or the charge per %.

If we can examine our desired outcome, I think we can make the crime in SWG more "organized". It also wouldn't be such a bad idea to start discussing how we want to adjust to the new abilites/spices due out in the revamp. The docs, chefs and image designers are having a field day charging as much as they want. And though we are criminals, I by no means think we should try to railroad others. Like a fellow wrote, help out the little guy.

I feel with a little cooperation and open discussion we can take the financial aspect of smuggler and gear it to our advantage. Being involved in narcotic production and distribution, illegal weapon and armor modification along with the host of new forms of debotchery to come, we should be living well with credits to spare.

Thanks for reading and hope all are doing great.

*shrugs*
I normally slice for free, unless the person asking has a non rpish name, then I ask 1 million per slice.

I've only been a smuggler for about 6 months and I used to charge the 110c per %, then 4-5k per slice, now I use 5k for 10%-24% slices, 10k for 25-34% slices, and 15k for 35-45% slices. Converting alot of bria smugglers over to this, made 1 million in a full day of slicing around all the hot spots. Of course some people laughed at me and yelled at me, but in the end I was laughing last. Increase your price don't respond to complainers, and you will make money. 2 sets of armor can easily become 80k sales, vs the old 20-30k.

Some great posts and I agree there has to be balance if you want to be "fair". If you don't then charge what you feel. I have about 2 million in the bank, mostly from pursuing TKM missions on Dant. Slicing is fun though , but doesn't generate the creds like punching out primitives.

I'm currently a Master Smuggler because I'm waiting to see how Publish 11 and the Space Expansion will effect the profession. Right now it's allright.

Now to the topic I've been charging 100 credits per %, 30-35 double credits for weapons, 40-45 double credits for armor. I think that's damn cheap considering the Doc Buff argument. I'm not in need of the cash so much (but every bit helps) so I'll go to a flat % rate for all. If they don't like it they can go elsewhere I don't need the cash that badly.

You really should try this range, the official range for Flurry:

up to 24% 5k

25-34% 10k

35 and up 15k

Trust me when I say that most people gladly drop 10k on you for a 30% dam slice.
