Your right we dont smugglebut that doesnt mean we should steal from other player characters either. I believe we should have smuggler content that represents smuggling but this thread is about someone that was robbed.

Yes - this incident does suck and I have never conducted business this way.

But it is true that smugglers are not the most reputable business people. Say all you want about Han Solo being an honest person. He didn't have bounty hunters after him for no reason!

Smugglers are all about one thing: MONEY! Irregardless of the danger or perils involved - it is about the money!

There will always be people that do things that anger us and disappoint us whether IRL or in SWG. You now know not to deal with that person again so I consider it a cheap lesson. A handfull of mission can get any weapon back that is lost.

I personally do not understand why one would go anywhere else if there are slicers in their PA.

Such is life.

Once I went LD 3 times while slicing 2 sets of composite armor. I was worried that they would think I was a thief, but he was very understanding about the whole thing. And I got some business from his friend who was there for the whole thing. Can't understand why someone would soil their reputation like that...

I never worry about getting ripped off by anyone. SWG is strict by this Im comming from experience. When the game came out my little bro started scamming ppl,and he got reported and my account was suspeded for a week or around thier. Just report them, and im sure something will happen to them.

I would think some role playing smugglers might want to steal do dirty stuff like that but frompast expierence SOE is strict on this.

I've never had anything bad happen with a smuggler. They have all been trustworthy.

SOE could borrow something from Mythic for this to make it more secure. You put the item on the ground and since it is yours only can pick it up, but the smuggler can click on it and have the option to slice it. Another option would be to make items available for slicing from the trade window. Just put it up for trade with the smuggler, the smuggler clicks on it and the radial menu shows the option to slice. Could even include a confirmation in the trade that you agree to have your item sliced.

The idea is to improve the acceptance of having items sliced so that smugglers have a greater chance to use this skill. Added benefit would be fewer cases of this happening and fewer CSR troubles.

/agree

This is what we need for slicing. It is a form of trade afterall. Same should work for sliced containers. That way a smuggler couldn't take stuff out of the container after unlocking it.

It should be kept the way it is, mostly because of collateral and security.

They are coming to us to perform a business transaction. They knew the risks when they got involved.

The person will eventually lose business and she (it) should be ostracized from the Smuggler community.

It sucks to get screwed over... but sometimes you have to just risk it.

To the original poster of this thread. This is the way to do it. Report them as a griefer, and you'll prolly even get your weapon back. SOE has supposedly taken a hardline stance on issues like this. This originates from the Christmas Holo-bash and the immediate subsequent activity increase of the trading of Holocrons.

Try running a couple of missions to replace a 4 million credit gun. I was nervous before I handed that one over for slicing before I became a smuggler.
