I dont know why they would do this, it only herts their Rep and others. I personlay wouldnt do any thing of the sort without something to make me do this to my customer, unless it was the following....
1) If you dont have the money for the slice I just did for ya then I do the following
a) I keep the weapon if I can use it
b) I charge you double for wasting my time
c) I give it to someone whos willing to pay for the slice
2) You start chewing me out for a bad slice
a) Redial Menu: Destroy
b) Charge you 10 times the amount for the slice
c) Give it to someone
b) Keep the weapon if I can use it
Im glade I never had to do any of the above & I hope I never have to . But one day it will come and Im glad I have guidlines for it.

Slicing cost per % is stupid. Like was posted, we're about the money. You give me money, I slice. You don't like the slice, **edit** off and die. The id ui configured for slicing use works just fine. No need for dumb calculation algorithms coded in just cause some genious decided to be a business man instead of a smuggler.

I'm afraid I don't have much sympathy. Not that I agree with theft (even though it is a part of life and should be part of game, but obviously can't because of current griefing potential), but did you ask for proof of the smuggler's abilities? Give them a test item to slice? Ask to see a title, etc?

Hummm I got Jacked two days before I took up Smuggler.
Picked up some containers from some Nightsisters , and A smuggler was yelling in cornet asking to slice containers for free. Well sence i had 3 and wanted them open I "like an Idiot" offered them up to him.
After about 10 mins he gives me back one of the three , and proceeds to tell me he broke the other two. I say fine let me get them back them. What to my wondering eyes should appear on my screen should appear "I destoried them" and he ran for the shuttle.
I had a good feeling about what was in them. He just answered it for me.
It's a lesson learned. And its one of the reasons why I am a smuggler now.
