Apparently SOE/LA is convinced that only people in California play this f_cking game since they only seem to be able to pull off sh!t over there. Time for yet again another stunt by them....
I've got one question though... WHEN THE HELL HAVE THEY EVER LISTENED ANYWAY?!?!?!
They've done exit polls. They've done "Top 10's" from profession correspondents. WHY THE F_CK DO THEY NEED NIELSON TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PLAYERS OF THIS GAME HAVE BEEN TELLING THEM FOR 2 F_CKING YEARS NOW?!?!?!?!
NOT ONLY THAT, BUT ANY POLL THEY DO WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY BIASED SINCE IT'S LOCALISED AND REQUIRES PEOPLE TO GO TO THEM!!!!!
WHY THE F_CK ARE THEY PAYING PEOPLE $100 TO TELL THEM SOMETHING THEY GET FOR FREE HERE?!?!?! WOULDN'T THAT MONEY BE BETTER SPENT ON FIXING BRIA OR PAYING SOME OVERTIME SO THEY CAN FIX THE PROFESSIONS IN GAME INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON THE "NEXT" EXPANSION?!?!?!
PS- Sorry for the caps, but they just take their idiocy one step further everyday it seems.

Bay Area is Northern California. Anything above Six Flags we consider north. I'm bottom of the barrel, San Diego, I should know. And if I didn't have school that day and it wasn't a 8-10 hour drive, I would so be there.

Wait .. going from san diego to LAX via SouthWest airlines is fast and possibly cheaper than driving lol. You could fly up there and give them the address of a hotel hehe.

UO made the same mistake over and over... hiring people to figure out what will increase their market when its pretty obvious looking at the forums. The problem is, in the past, they used the forum and got burned. At that time the forum represented only 1 type of player cross-section. I dont believe this to be the case anymore.
Um, Actually guys- this COULD be serious.
As a TV professional I can tell you that execs ears stay open once they hear the name "Nielsen" and they put big money behind whatever Nielsen tells them to do.
If the Nielsen research done onthe 31st comes back and says:
Jedi are ruinning the GCW.
We need a GCW that matters.
Smugglers need tosmuggle.
Then you can bet your ass someone is going to do something about those things.
HOWEVER
If a bunch of Jedi go and complain about how they never get any attention- then they will change their focus (yeah, that's a joke) and only do stuff for Jedi.
So it IS important and hopefully we will get some representation.
As far as the other stuff goes:
YES. They could read these forums and get, at the very least, afeel of what the major problemsin SWG are- but execs DO NOT LISTEN to people who spend their time typing rants ina forum.
It's not focused enough for them and that would involve reading which is another exec disinterest.
Supposedly, Tiggs and TH types are the ones that should be supplying execs with what we are feeling as it's being filtered through the Corros- but as far as I can tell, Corros have been severely muffled and Tiggs and TH have become pacifiers to ease the crying as LA uses SWG to promote it's latest releases.
One thing is for certain- SWG is in trouble. You do NOTpayNielsen to find out what yourcustomer base wants if your game is doing okay. Perhaps this was brought on by the many voices upset bythe announcement of TOW-Or perhaps there has been a steadily growing cancelation rate- who knows. Just hope that the people that DO go to this thing actually have the game's interest overall at heart and not just one profession's well being.

I wish I had the link, but there is a post, possibly in the comunity relations and website forum, about a female player from the bay area trying to register, she was told that they are not taking females for this?!?!?!?!?

perhaps because they already had enough percentage? I was at a theatre one night and neilson group came up and wanted opinions on some stuff but wouldnt talk to me.. they only wanted to survey my wife. They said they already had enough men on their list.
So if women comprise 5% of the gaming population and they are going to survey 1500 people.. its possible that they will only question 75 females?
