I really hate to go off-topic GM, but can you address the umm, upgrade we got in the patch today? We really appreciate all the time you are spending in here, but it doesn't look so good when one part of your dev team is sliding un-announced, un-requested changes into the live patches while you are here preaching patience for a re-vamp.

I mastered smuggler way back when you had to remove each AUK, WUK, and clamp individually from crates to slice. It was such a bonus when we didn't have to do that anymore. I would hate to think that this superior mechanic is really going to be rolled back to solve the bug with laser knives.

Thanks for your time.

To clarify designing a skillset that will appeal to certain playstyles is one thing - designing asystem that excludes playstyles isa bad idea.

What if I want to be a squad leader, but I don't want to join a group? The squad leader requires the use of a group for experience, thus excluding the soloer from its content. It's the same logic as you're using here.

In truth, GM is excluding no one from any content. PvEers are just as able of participating in the PvE content as anyone else. They'll just have to take the chance of being hunted by a player. Just like a soloer will have to bite the bullet and find groups to be a squad leader. If you choose not to participate in the PvP aspect of the game, then you will possibly miss out on some content. It's that simple.

We really need to get over the "forced PvP" aspect, GM said it wont happen, Live with it. Simple as that. There is a HUGE difference between grouping and PvP. PvP, as said by GM himself in a previous voice, is a very emotional experience which will not be forced on players that wish not to participate in it.

Now this thread is not about PvP vs PvE this thread is about how to include both balanced in the new revamp, there is another thread for all those that wish to continue the discussion on PvP vs PvE. It was the first thread to this one.

Well, actually a SQUAD LEADER is Player with Player (PwP). A Bounty Hunter Mark is NOT really PvP, but somewhere in between. This is because you are not being chased byANY member of the opposite faction, but only another player of a specific type -- aka a Bounty Hunter.

PwP means you are working together for the same goal or object. PvP means you are working against each other for the same goal or object, hence a BH coming after me is PvP, he/she is a player going against me (the vs part) and I am a player. Hence the PvP part of it.

PvE'ers, in general, have always been very big into PwP but not PvP and there is a difference.

I will skip the "I'm really glad with the way this Revamp is going!" part hehe

I'd like to make one suggestion. Sorry if someone already said that (howlong would it take to read 1600 posts??), but here goes:

There could be faction-specific items. These items would be used in contraband missions. Stuff like "Jabba's Ale" or "Nym's Variation of Vasarian Brandy" (I'm not good with making up names hehe).

Of course, you would only receive them when you get a mission from the given NPC. You could choose to keep these items for yourself, but after not-delivering a given number of them, your NPC could become quite pissed (like Han losing Jabba's cargo...who can saythat he didn't just keep the cargo?? :smileyhappy

Each major NPC would have a different kind offaction-item,IE, Jabba could have a good food, Valarian a drink, Nym a weapon power-up, and so on.

The faction-items would be marked as Highly Illegal.

Perhaps faction-items could only be given at Master-level missions. That would make it somewhat rare and more valuable.

Just thought that it would make players to think more about becoming allies with X or Y faction.
