Thread: Serenity/Firefly Fans
Saw the movie over the weekend, and it did not disappoint. I've been waiting years for Episode 3 to come out, so I could finally know what made Vader into Vader.
Even with all the hype, I consider Serenity _at least_ as good as EP3, probably more on par with Empire Strikes Back. Much more humor though, and better timing on the dialog. Go see it, you'll thank us later.

One of the best movies I've seen. And I'm not a sci-fi nut (not even for Star Wars).
Serenity is purer and more engaging in ONE movie (never saw the series, but I'm buying it) than either Wars or Trek ever were for me. Why?
It's about the CHARACTERS, not the TOYS. It's about STORY, not MERCHANDISING. All the things that made parts of the original SW trilogy so charming to the audience, Firefly/Serenity has that and more. And NO BIG NAMES to clog up the works, too.
My dad went and saw the movie w/o me ![]()
Though, he said that the movie wasnt as good as the actual show lol
Finally saw it last night... Wow. Great movie, great characters. Great lines.
I laughed a little too loud when she said "I aint had nothin twixt my nethers cept that runs on battery power" or whatever the line was.
Cool quote from the review:
Orson Scott Card on Serenity: "I'm not going to say it's the best science fiction movie, ever. Oh, wait. Yes I am."

) So 2for for me today.
Then I'll con my buddies into seing it with me...
loved the series watched when it came on tv and was sad when it was taken off. loved the movie. best movie i seen this year and i've only seen three movies this year anyway.
go see it get your friends we must get this movie at number 1. flight plan is crap and shouldn't have been top box office. so lets knock that piece of crap down and raise serenity to the top.
As for Firefly: the first time I saw this series, I saw the entire thing in one xx-hour sitting. Bought it the first chance I got, and I've been running the discs so often that the DVD drive in my computer is starting to fail.
As for Serenity: the second I heard this movie coming out, I was documented as saying that I would boost ticket sales myself by kidnapping people and dragging them to the movies with me if I had to.

Serenity WILL be #1 in the box office.
