talked to a buddy whose son works at the biggest theater in town. serenity has been the top movie there this weekend so /fingerscrossed

Serenity finished in 2nd place overall for the weekend box office totals. 10 million. If you have not see it, get out and check this movie out. Word of mouth is spreading fast, people are seriously loving this movie.
Even if you have never seen Firefly (but, why wouldn't you have
) go check it out. I tell you you will not regret it. Reviews are excellent everywhere. Serenity is a blast.

I have to agree. This movie was easily better than any of the new star wars movies. I'd HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

I only hope some developers watched it to see what a smuggler is and does.

I think word of mouth must be spreading quickly, I went to Best Buy to get the Firefly DVD's to watch before I went to see the movieand they were sold out...

My brother rented the whole dvd set and at firstI wasnt going to watch it as I thought it would be just another cheesy sci fi.But I actuallyfound I likedit more than other sci fi shows and couldnt wait to see the movie. Now Ihave been twice to see it and must say it was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. MaybeSOE and George Lucas should watch it and see what makes a movie really exciting. And no flames please because this movie may have lacked jedi but it also didnt havecrazy looking aliens running around trying to add humor.

Lucas had to put comedy aliens in because his dialogue in all the Star Wars movies was awful. Joss Whedons series Buffy, Angel and Firefly had great dialogue and characters that you actually cared about. The one liners in the series Firefly had me belly laughing, a stupid creature falling over didn't.I've not seen the film yet, we don't get it till Friday, but I can hardly wait.

wait theres a tv series set in the same universe as the movie? Serenty was great! A really good movie with an excellent story and believable characters. So the tv series is "firefly" Its on sci-fi right?

Yeah but you can also buy all 14 episodes on one DVD boxed set. It's worth it.

One of the best movies I've seen. And I'm not a sci-fi nut (not even for Star Wars).
Serenity is purer and more engaging in ONE movie (never saw the series, but I'm buying it) than either Wars or Trek ever were for me. Why?
It's about the CHARACTERS, not the TOYS. It's about STORY, not MERCHANDISING. All the things that made parts of the original SW trilogy so charming to the audience, Firefly/Serenity has that and more. And NO BIG NAMES to clog up the works, too.

I got the DVD set for Christmass last year...and it was the best present ever. Litterally blew a weekend just watching them...and the movie is just as good. If the movie does well enough there coudl be up to 2 more...so keep on going and get your friends to go!
