I just don't understand the Devs half the time. I've been smuggler for 6 months and never crafted spices until now.Now they want to take away the stacking so it is back to 3 spices, Neutron Pixie, Muon, Booster Blue, I honestly don't see why anyone would use anything else.

But then again, they are doing the same thing with weapons and armor, With weapons, you will only use like 6 of them. Just whatever has the highest DPS, you will only use that one weapon and nothing else. Devs Claim that Different elemental types were supposed to add diversity, but have you noticed Resists on armor? They all are the same resist for the elemental damages. So one is no better than the other. not to mention, weapons with elemental damage take a pretty good damage reduction from the main damage so it isn't worth it to use them at all.

Here are some examples:

My rifleman -Only usesLaser rifle

My Smuggler - Only uses FWG5

My Pikeman - Only Uses Vibro Lance

I have a stock pile of other weapons in the bank, in hopes something exciting will happen with them but it doesn't look like it, so each character only carries one weapon and everything works fine.

With the CU i really thought that Smugglers finally had an oppurtunity with spices. I even dusted off my main toon to start crankin out spices again.

Oh well...... maybe someday they will give the smuggler a better role in the Galaxy. Untill then back into semi-retirement he shall go.

Isnt that a bit like saying the lobbyists have little to do with what new bills go through?

Admittedly, yes,10k HAMs were out of controll. But this practice of SOE to 1) use insta-nerf as an answer to all issues, rather than develop a strong solution, and 2) listen to everything the last profession in the game to be added asks of them has become tiresome.

There were other solutions, all of which made lower end crafting Smugglers more viable, a problem that runs rampent in SWG.

This solution, however, keeps only the Masters in credits... again. So, like slicing and pre-CU spices, our profession is only viable if you have mastered it.

Othes solutions, so I am posting with an actual constructive comment instead of merely complaining, include enacting a 20% unnatural cap, regardless of the number of spices used, allowing 1 from each category, or creating a Spice stomach, limiting the number of spices one can injest based on their "fill" rating.

My personal favorite was the idea of creating an unnatural cap, allowing even low-end spices to be cocktailed into something that might offer a 20% health increase, or mixing the right doses of various spice to counter eachother and result in a 20 increase to all 3 HAMs.

Instead, once again, Smuggler has returned to a relative uselesness, save fortier 4spices.

this is so depressing

so yeah... no more spice stacking. no more need to produce or use the full range of spices.

i thought... finally...that I had found something that was fun and profitable, that engaged my interest and was helpful and contributed a bit to the community. Finally, there was content for me. Just the small business of selling spice, and USING spice, was enough to keep me in game and happily running my little spice rack.

Alas, it was not meant to be. As with the hideous nerfing of my ever beloved tkm/master commando, now this. I am fully convinced the dev's hate me.

I can't smuggle, I can't slice, I certainly can't hold my own in a fight.

What is left for me...?

why are the jedis mad? If you cant heal and get your health to 9k, wouldnt the jedi have to do the same damage to kill you as you would to them if they are healing for 1500 every 5 secs? It just seems like it was a way to give us a chance. especially when me and my group are overt and meet 6 or 7 friendly rebel jedis who want to show my buds and I their new lightsaber trick.....

But there are several chef foods that can add to your health, action, or mind regeneration. Sotaking several different foods or drinks would still be better than just allowing one type of food or drink to be used. But how would chef's like it if SOE came down and said everyone could only use one type of food or drink at a time?

And since all spices affect only 4 things (Health, HR, AR, MR), people are only going to buy the one type that helps them the most for the longest. (Basically the two that add the +20% to the action regen). So all of the the other spices are usless and only take up database space.

Otherwise... Smuggler was already messed up. Our two "shining" good things were slicing and spices. Slicing got screwed up with the CURB (negative slices!?!). And now spices are getting the nerf bat upside the head. So we got:

Musician

Dancer

Image Designer

Doctor

Smuggler

Only a few more professions to go until everyone is a jedi.

yea, I feel kinda borked. When I came back after the 3 months to test the CU and saw the hit to slicing, I dropped most of smuggler. Then last night I remembered waaay back when I told my guildmates I was going to become the drug-lord of naritus. I made a note that when I got on this morning to buy me a factory and start my empire!

I wake up this morning, start up swg, let the patcher check it's stuff, check what's on the forums...

what luck. =\

They should have put a spice amount limit, not F*CKING Nerf us again! Whats wrong with limiting spice stacking to 3 spices. that way we can still sell the Sh*t and people can make a strategic choice of combos. BUT NOOOOOOOO!!! its always a F*cking NERF!!! Im sick of them nerfing every little thing that makes smuggler unique. I never use last ditch cause i dont want to depend on it since thats going to be their next smuggler target. Oh, but we get to be the server's weapon enhancers (which is bugged) with no consequences to the customer or us.

And this really makes the new smuggler missions of the smuggler revamp obsolete. They were going to take away crafting and make us get spices from the missions, but now that stacking is gone, Who the F*CK is going to want them. Pardon my speech, i usually dont post in anger, but after a year and a half of this sh*t its starting to get to me!

Here's my take on it - If you're interested.

Keep the _idea_ of spices how they work now - %'s to stats, etc.

5min spices should have killer bonuses (40%) and have a 10min downer.
10mins spices should be midland (20%) and have a 5min downer.
15min spices should be low-end (10%) and have a 1min downer.

That way, you can plan ahead - If I need to boost just to kill this one mob, go ahead and get the big boost. I can rest afterward.

Also, those lootable skill bonus drugs - We should be making (or supplying post-revamp) those.
