This is disappointing. The Smuggler I work with was really excited to be able to sell different types of spices for once. We set up a vendor in my Chef shop and they were selling well.

Will anybody buy anything but Neutron Pixie once this goes live? It will be the same as it used to be with Muon Gold.

i need to do some more testing to see whats all the rules are, but it looks like spices are no longer stacking in p17 on TC.

Case 1: I took a pixie and couldn't take any of: Pixie, muon, booster blue, pyrepenol

Case 2: I took a pyrepenol, and then i tried taking a pixie and the spice downer started immediately and so did the 15:00 pixie timer.

Problem: no sys message or any indication that something happened when i tried to take some spice and couldn't

You had to know it was going to change with people runing around with 10k + ham, we just didn't know how or when.

I think we'll still see at least 2 if not all 3 top tier spice selling tho... the pixie action boost is nice, but field docs need to do a lot of healing and so the mind bonus is nice... so it'll either be pixie & booster blue, or all three

I've always thought it was kinda silly how so many things in this game were designed such that only ONE is really viable for practical use. Nobody's going to choose to use a 5 minute spice with no health boost when they could choose a 15 minute spice with a health boost.

I was torn because I really did not like the 10k health stacking, but I have always wanted more diversity. Why create these other spices if you realize that, practically, nobody's going to use them? I wish there was a way they could limit it to, say, three spices at a time instead of just one. And/or maybe prevent spices with health boosts from stacking.

I agree that it was inevitable something had to change, and certainly that 10k health wasn't good for the game. It's just disappointing because my Smuggler was very happy to be selling a variety of products in my shop. Now it seems it will just be Neutron Pixie, and lots of it. I hope you may be right that people buy a variety, even if it's just two or three.

This, to me, makes no sense. I mean, anyone from far from unbeatable in PvE or PvP unless they were already a superb fighter in either arenas, which is hardly the case anymore.

But, let me get this strait. We can stack Chef foods to pick up all sorts of buffs on our defense, HAM, crafting, healing, movement, ect, ect. But....God forbid the Smugglers see use out of even half their spices...that's overpowering...betterknock13 (87%) of 'em back to uselessness. If so, those are wasted schematics andthey may as well remove them just to save some database space. Same arguement we've made for 2 years basically.

I don't consider this a fix. It's a flat out nerf to useless of something finally made usefull.

What's really sadistic is how Wes was happy to report that spices were actually going to be revamped and see usefullness in the Combat Upgrade. True. He was informed correctly and spices were good......for about 4 weeks. Just enough time for people to realize their uniform usefullness and value and for Smugglers to spend some gobs of cash in crafting the stuff to sell. Then of course, they drop it and maybe 1 out of the 8-10 spices made is usefull.

I just can't get over how they rationalize taking an entire crafting profession (Chef) and letting every single one of their items stack (until you're full) while making another profession's consumable buffs one item at a time.

I guess I should be used to this and just shrug it off. I woudn't want to cause a stink about this and get everyone upset.

I agree how this makes the other spices again useless. So, once again, we as Smugglers get gimped down to making and selling basically Pixie (and on rare occassion, Muon or Booster Blue but I doubt anything more than really Pixie or Muon, once again)! So, like so many of our mysterious skills and rewards as we level up in Smuggler, they are soon rendered useless and illogical.

TOO LATE!

Seriously though, I did know it was coming but I was hoping you could still stack certain spices with others. Like all from the 15min group or all from the 5min group.

Maybe even vary up the attributes a lil' more.

Hell, any of the ideas are great. One spice from each of the 5, 10, and 15 minute catagories. Usefullness down the latter.

Or any of the other ideas that's been in this forgotten forum for 2 years: Addition, Overdosing, "Tollerance" meter (like the food/drink meters). The list goes on.

I don't really see how this is going to change even if all spices are smuggled in the revamp. That's just going to make them more expensive and even more limited. Further killing the market.

as I posted in the jedi forums regarding the matter...

It would all balance itself out if the withdrawls would have been kept the same. Allow spice stacking, but give a withdrawl to each with the exact same length timer, just like the pre-cu spice. Then those that were smart enough to use it, could. Those that abused it without wisdom, died from their own consumption.

At least that was the fear pre-cu.. but it was so minimal a gain hardly anyone used it. Now it's a large gain.. give it a large risk, instead of just removing it..

Risk Vs. Reward

When I first logged on after a 3 month break, downed all my spices, and then when they wore off I had ONE 30 second withdrawl.. I laughed my ass off.. I knew a change was gonna come, but I didn't expect it to be removing the stacking.. worst direction to go IMO.
