Thread: Spice stacking fixed in Publish 17?

according to the publish notes on the "In Testing"forum, there's nothing about spice stacking. unless they make it another silent "fix"...
I'd write a ticket and complain. Then I would slash prices by 25% and spam the Trade Forums and the Coronet Starport and the Mining OP. Get what you can get.

NO ONE should have 10k health. Period. I'lltypeit again soI'm clear , NO ONE should have 10k health. Stacking chef foods is not anargument, things work differently. You cannot stack the same attribute on a food (accuracy bouns, defense, etc). Not to mention you could always stack various foods, that was the idea. You are in effect, stacking the same attribute with taking multiple spices. You are stacking a healthbonus.
It's funny how whensomething works in one's favor andgets changed, it's called a nerf, but when it's working against you it's an exploit. Let's work on the other prolems of the Smuggler profession before we complain about how we were making good money by selling out crates so people could once again become invinsible.
I wouldn't mind if the spices were turned into "components" used to make a feasible product. Like you could add a bit of Spice X to give it more action regeneration, Spice Y for more health, and Spice C to add to health regeration. Or a complete different mixture of spices. Or maybe three hits of Spice X to make a great action regen mixture.
That'd at least make it seem more like what spices would do, I guess.
What does spice stacking have to do with being a jedi? I keep ppl complaining about 10K hams. What is the big deal? EVERYONE CAN STACK! EVERYONE CAN GET A 10K HAM.
Poor Smugglers. They get the shaft once again.

Fellow Smugglers, please don't fall into the roles of others when it comes to fixing the real broken problems of our profession. This is not a problem we need to be debating. Spice stacking is broken. This is not how spices work, it is never how spices work and needs fixed. Stacking spices to gain 3 times the health of your opponent is an unfair advantage to all and is one of the first things I would call "game breaking" and I don't use that phrase lightly.

How is it an unfair advantage? You take spice. I take spice. We both have the same HAM. It will just take a little longer to kill each other in pvp. It would be an unfair advantage if my Zabrak could stack and a human couldn't.
And spice is still cheap and easy to make....thus even noob players will be able to afford it (where as food is expensive and a pain in the arse to make).

I don’t think anyone is really adamantly backing the idea that 10k Health is fair. In fact, many of us are fully behind the idea of making this a bit more realistic.
The problem we are mainly discouraged with is the fact that spice mixing (not stacking) is a very viable means of making our profession more meaningful from the ground up- Novice level spices gained a purpose from this ability, and thereby novice level smugglers had an ability to participate in this aspect of our profession. The old system, 1 spice at a time, quickly destroys the usefulness of lower level spices.
That being said, the current execution of spice mixing is generating a far greater enhancement than should be allowed, and can quickly undo the balance the devs are trying to create in PvE. PvP, well, since anyone can take spice, I fail to see why the Jedi are so up in arms...
The possibilities for the mixing of spice are what we are focused on here, my shady friend. But as myself and others have decried, the SOE solution has been to throw out baby and bathwater in a fast nerf.
What we would like to see is an examination of the benefits of blending spices, and instead of mutely ending it, offer an adjustment that maintains the benefit to the smuggling and general communities alike, while curtailing the unbalancing nature of the current bug.
An eventual solution which reaches both lofty goals of enabling the novice smuggler community and remaining within the bonus of a buff that is "balanced" could be then implemented to all enhancing professions- Entertainers, Chefs, Doctors, could all benefit from it. The solution could have been a combination of the intelligent, thought out, and balanced ones offered by the smuggler community here. Instead, the solution is to merely (and silently!) remove this from the game without further examination.
And that is something worth debating!
