I would dare to be so bold as to say I am, and have always been Eclipse's most known smuggler. My pricing has never changed. Nor has my guarantee. I think marketing of one's self is the key to growing your smuggling business. Make people WANT to choose you instead of any other of the million smugglers out there.
For me, it was sexy spice names. You won't hear the names Muon Gold and Neutron Pixie much on Eclipse. You will hear Mindjob and Wren Dust. Just creative branding. I also am heavily into RP, which ties into the crime organization threads here, pirating rings, live RP events, etc...
Become infamous and your business will not fail.
110% agree.
Ego is everything for a Smuggler.
Mojo is Chims Smuggler of choice because he TOLD them he was time and again.
And for Branding mine was alwasys Mojos Nearly Legal XZY

I charge 5k per slice, guildies and close friends 2k per slice those who help me, free of charge.
Like our docs in the guild, they buff me free and I slice free, even though I have told my wsthat if he hook me up with wuks i slice free but he still pays me even though i told him not to.
I agree with N'varra Wren, become infamous and your loyal customers will come to you. Im the most well know Master Smuggler on bria when it comes to slicing.
Like the otherday I arrived to cnet I got a tell when I was still loading, asking for a slice from me even if there were a new Master Smuggler sitting there shouting Slicing for 5k a piece. I didn't have to do anything to get the customers, I just stod there by my self and they come to me
So my advise to you is to try out a desent price and see how they react to it.

Not sure when flat rates were implemented. I still charge 200c per percent over 30. Free otherwise.
Wow, your generous. I drop a lot of freebies on n00bs, but all free under 30% is unheard of on Bloodfin.

i used to charge 2k at slicing 4, when i found out that other smugglers were charging up to 10k a slice. i slowly went up to 5k per slice, not sure i'll increase it much after this tho... this seems to make me enough money, even without slice-spamming(got the macro tho
)
and i agree on the selling sliced weaps/armours. therefore, i recommend to ALL AS/WS i know to also have a vendor that sells unsliced items. basically cos not everyone can afford a few 100k's for a new weapon, even tho it's crappy sliced(small speed slice on DXR6b increased the price with 50-100k, that's not do-able in my book(ok, i slice em myself, so it's a 50-100k profit for me
)all i have to do is pray for a speed slice(reverse psych), stroke my amulet(the one around my neck...)and /worship slicing-gods hehe)

Well if you go by my standard, two things happen:
1. you get 6k minium, possibly up to 9k on armour
2. You get a LOT, and I mean a LOT of people coming to you.
So I wouldn't say generous. I have always had a few hundred million creds on me from slicing and spicing, so it seems to work. Just sharing my two cents worth really.

Not bad at all. Forgot to mention, I have played since day one. Always been here. So yes, consistency helps. I was third master smuggler on Eclipse, and never changed profs, so have always been reliable.

The problem is that there is a lot of money in game. With solo groups some people got very rich very fast, so smugglers found that charging 3k per slice wasnt enough since they could make way more in a solo group and also people had lots of money and 3k was the same to them as 5-10k. So slicing moved up to about 5-10k per slice and varies per server and smuggler. With solo groups gone(sort of) some people are going to have a hard time making money, esspecially new people who will have to work much harder to get to the same amount of money that some people have.
Anywho I dont usually charge for slices but I have asked for up to 5k per slice. I dont need money though having a weaponsmith who does all right for himself. I dont sit in coronet though spamming that I will slice, its usually more along the line of someone sending me a tell about getting a few slices and then meeting them for a few slices... usually friends or other people from forums that know I am a master smuggler. I sell my weapons unsliced mostly cause I dont want to have a bunch of crappy speed sliced weapons that people wont want to buy and I also dont want to take away business from other smugglers.

Just implimented a new sliding scale and haven't had any complaints:
under 15% free
15-19 3k
20-24 6k
25-29 10k
30-34 15k
35 25k
I plan on staying with this new one for at least three or four days until there's another round of postings on slice prices that make me want to change my mind again. Really, it can only be what you're comfortable with charging. Pick anything between free and 100k and you'll be in line with someone's prices somewhere.

I have always charged 10k a slice. Its not my fault if the slice is bad so i see no reason to reduce or increase rates based on outcome.
My prices are in my bio andI ask they read it and /tel me that they agree before we start.

I charge 10k a pop; I'll lower my price for newbies and sometimes give out freebies, but 10k is my usual cost

Wow....what rip-off's I was a master smuggler and I'd charge $3,000 for weapon slices and $2500 for armor slices (several pieces usually)
I was a bit upset after I dropped smugger, some dude charged me $8,000 per slice! I've never charged that high. The materials/resources for slicing doesn't cost much at all. I read in this thread prices like $10,000 and $12,000! That's absolutely ridiculous. You can buy many weapons at $10,000 and then pay for a $12,000 slice? The slice cost more than the weapon? That's just craziness.
Shame on you criminals, taking advantage of people.
