Thread: How many of you warn customers about the...not so good slices?
I've sliced a lot of weapons since the CU and it hasnt made a single bit of difference if i got -6% or 16% on a slice on any stat, it didn't effect the stats of the weapon.
I had a 12% range distance slice on my pistol, still has a range of 35m
6% speed slice, still has a speed of 1.4
8% dmg slice, still has a dmg of 356-948
etc etc
Point is, I don't think slicing is just not giving high effects I think its not giving ANY effects at all. No DPS change, range change whatever. Slicing is just completly borked ... until it finaly gets some love :T
If people send me a tell I just repeat what a lot of people in this thread do - that I can - but you may get a negative slice, that you should wait until the slicing update, and that if it's a bio-linked weapon to consider not using it until you get it sliced (heard that bio linked weapons may not be slicable/tradable properly - don't know if this is accurate or not - but hey, better safe than sorry).
I keep my M/Smuggler tag up so people will ask me about it - figure with all the respec Smugglers who may not be aware of the bug (no disrespect intended to all you folks new to the field) that this will count towards my community service hours ![]()

I haven't enhanced anything else of value for anyone else, i'm too scared to try.
Ya, I always tell people about the dangers.
I have a role-playing whisper macro set up to tell them about how illegal it is, and that because the empire has outlawed slicing that the slice can be anywhere from -10% to +30% and that the stat to be increased cannot be chosen.
Its a great little macro that keeps the RP believeable and immersive, as well as informing them of the process.
I even had one guy go so far as to think I was really a dev or an NPC, as all my responses were macro'd.
It was funny.
