Thread: Conseqences for losing to BH
BY JOVE, I THINK I GOT IT!!!
Here is the best consequence ever... if we die to a BH... no pie or beer for 3 minutes!
What do you think? Too harsh?

So I take it you don't like these ideas? or do you just not have anything productive to add? Don't get me wrong... I know you're one of the Vet Smugs around here, I'm just wondering if you actually have anything to add besides beer and pie comments.

I was actually taking my time to think about it before coming in here with a serious reply. These last two days have taught me to wait just a little bit before replying because things are just changing too rapidly to react right away.
But... since you ask...
I'm torn on this reputation system. While I think it'd be great for Smugglers to be able to boost their reputations in-game for a sense of accomplishment, it would completely not work for me.
Why? Because I would want to fail missions on purpose in order to have the fun of a BH after me. I just think it would be extremely Smuggler-ish to have to sneak around everywhere because you know a BH is on your tail. I would like to have to be a little paranoid about that blue blip on my radar because it could be the guy who has come to try and punch my ticket. I want to feel hunted. I don't want to join into factional PvP because it's more like standing around wondering which Jedi group is going to gank me next.
So because I want to actually enjoy that content, I'd have to sacrifice my Smuggler's reputation.
I just think there has to be a better solution... just not sure what it is yet.
And, by the way, here's a little tip for everyone. And this isn't aimed at anyone in particular.
If you post in the Smuggler Forum, expect people to joke around a bit. It's going to happen. No use getting upset.
I find it really kinda funny that someone must have reported my first reply in this thread, because it got deleted.
People without a sense of humor really need to get a grip.

The most fun in BH vs Smuggler that I can see is a competitive timed mission. Smuggler picks up a mission designed to last half hour - hour. A BH picks up a mission to stop the smuggler. Payout is equal. Only one can succeed and only one gets the payout. If the smuggler dies, he fails. If the smuggler finishes his run, the BH fails.

OMG... this would kick so much a$$...
Of course, what if no BH picked up the mission to stop you? You get less reward, I would think. Maybe ifa BH takes the mission for you and you still complete it you get a bonus... based on the CL of the BH versus your own CL? I dunno... something like that would be cool. And of course, if you take a mission and a BH takes the mission to stop you... if the reputation system is in place, that would mean more rep. And if multiple BHs took the mission out on you... well, then your rep just skyrockets.
Or maybe not... regardless, a timed smuggling run while maybe getting chased by player BHs? Frickin' awesome.
While I agree that this would be awesome to do, I don't think I see it working very well. Would the BH have to take the mission at the same time as the Smuggler? Or will the Smuggler just pop up on the boards when he accepts the mission? So while the Smuggler is out doing his mission, a BH might come after him/her? How would this be implimented?
Does anyone else have any Consequence ideas for losses to Bounty Hunters?

You die on any pvp mission you're unable to take another pvp mission for 24 hours.

Is that a consequence for Bounty Hunters that lose to Smugglers or what? How would that affect us Smugglers that lose to a BH?

If we had Smuggler missions or quests you could be looked out of them until you went and visited your smuggler faction leader and did a special quest for him to get back into his good graces. Oops forgot we do not have Smuggler quests or Smuggler Faction (Nym or Jabba) that we can join. Damn another good idea wasted.
Or maybe pay them off? You fail a mission for Nym, he puts a bounty on you, you die from the BH... have to buy your way back into Nym's community of Smugglers?

Yes, for BH's who get killed by anyone they have a bounty mission on. If a smuggler died they would get bumped down to doing small non pvp runs I suppose.
