Oh, holy bantha poodoo. My friend decided to take advantage of me when he wanted a medical experimentation tape a few months ago. He bought 250 containers for me to slice. It took about two hours, mostly because after the first 75, my brain was just fried on it. Even two months later, I shudder when I see a container. I hope you're just doing the pieces of armor, not complete suits..... Gack.

No the most annoying part shall be pulling out each clamp and wuk individually to slice each and every one of them.

Someone obviously hasn't read the Solutions now that we can't Auto Pull Post that has been stickied for ever and a day.

Even still that is a lot more of a pain than it used to be. Especially if you are doing crazy orders like the one mentioned above being 140+ suits of armor.

On Kauri i charge between 5 and 10k, depending on the quantity, i don't take large orders from AS or WS anymore, that's not really fun, and i play to have fun. I also try to convince every smuggler i see to have the same prices. I feel bad when i hear there are still people slicing at 100 cr per %, they don't have any responsability for the result.
I never got a complain, and they often overtip me if they get some 30ish damage. I also saw a master ask for whatever the customer feels like, he told me he got very rich this way, people are no relunctant with their money.

I charge basically whatever I want to charge at the time. I have grown to hate public slicing, so I tend to charge rediculous amounts just to make people go away.
Of course, lately, when someone asks me if I am slicing, I simply say "Hell no."
I'm just a people person...

Time to beat thedead horse again.
Fair enough. Recently I switched to a new, scientific method of determining price or whether to even charge someone for a slice: My Magic-friggin'-Eight Ball.
Me: /tell Chew'Bacca Starlifter <or some other "original" name>How much? Hold on, let me consult my guide.
"Magic 8-Ball, should I charge this guy who asked me to do 5 pieces of armor (but put 12 items in the trade window with a lame excuse about, 'oh and I need these sliced too'), my usual rate of 5K per item, or 10K per item now that I just missed the #$&^%* shuttle?
Magic 8-Ball: Signs point to 'Yes'
Me: "Well, there you have it. That's gotta suck, but what can I do? The Magic 8-Ball has spoken."
/tell Chew'Bacca Starlifter That'll be 120K, thankyoupleasedrivethru.
Works like a champ and keeps me amused when I bother to put on my Master Smuggler tag.
In all seriousness, charge whatever you think is fair. I vary between 3K - 15K depending on the circumstances, my mood, Magic 8-Ball, alignment of the stars, status of JTL/HL-2/Halo 2's release date, how much gas is in my truck, whether my wife is cooking dinneror we're stuck with pizza, whether my favorite baseball team is winning, status of the NHL's CBA, time of day, and day of the week.

I've actually never auto-pulled in my entire smuggling career
for some reason, I guess I just never trusted it to work properly or something ... plus, I don't think it's that much of a hassle to click on the crate a couple times to drop one in inventoryCorrect. A couple of times isn't a hassle. For 1000's of times it is.140 suits of armor = 1260 pieces4 clicks per piece (2 for AUK, and 2 for clamp) = 5040 clicksAdd in 252 laser knives, which is 504 clicks = 5544 clicksNow, say you have a completely empty inventory, and all the crates of AUK's, Clamps, and Laser Knives are stored in your backpack. If you keep an even armor :AUK/Clamp/Laser ratio, you can have only 15 clamps, 15 AUK's, 15 armor, and 3 laser knives up at one time. That's an additional 84 visits to the backpack, or 168 clicks for a total of 5712 clicks. After each set of 15 armor pieces, you will need to trade with the person again for 15 more. That breaks down to 84 exchanges, or 336 additional clicks. There is (approximately) a total of 6048 additional clicks for a set 140 suits of armor that were not required before. While many of those clicks can be saved with a macro, it still has had a significant impact on those of us who do bulk or frequent slicing.
well, I do some rather large orders ... nothing like 1260 armor pieces at a time, but still, some respectable numbers at a time
and as I said, I've never used auto-pull ... either I wasn't aware it was a possibility, or I forgot about it once I did know, or I just didn't trust it ... various reasons, but I've never used it.
Yes, if you're used to it then it's most likely a HUGE hassle to have to click on the crates. I'm not trying to argue that. I was just saying that, in my opinion and from my own experience, it's what I'm used to and therefore not a hassle.
The bug preventing auto-pull just hasn't affected me at all, everything's normal for me.

I just sliced 50 suits tonight and get to slice another 50 tomorrow.
The method I mention in the post I quoted works great, and clicking 1 button every 5-10 items of slicing is not "so much more work"
