There is no crime in charging to train someone. They have options, they can simply find the nearest NPC trainner to learn new skills. For RP purposes I charge Bothans and humans, pending on how other species ask me, sometimes I see it fit to charge them too.

I dont charge outrageous NPC prices (though I have for a fewobnoxious students) It's more on line with 700-200k (5k being the highest for one particular toon I had the displeasure of meeting), mostlyI chargein the 00's though.

Tipping for training used to be the norm. Now everyone expects things either for free or for you to pay them. You can thank holomadness for that. Time is the only thing you invest in this game and its right that you be compensated for your time. Too bad the majority of players wont pay anymore so I dont ask. I also dont offer to train and got most of my training from NPCs. The price ofNPC training is chump change, easier to get at all times of day, they are never rude and never AFK.

I agree with you novakaine but not everyone has the money to pay the NPC's. I know for a fact that STL had plently of money but he wanted to give someone ap points, but whatever Im done posting.

I think the people are missing the point.... It isn't the fact that you should or should not pay / tip for training i don't think that is the issue. I feel the issue is how he comes off to people and expects them to be polite back. If not he will flame them here. Takeing bids for training is rude in my eyes and saying "whats in it for me" i think just poors gasoline on the fire.

Anyway for the fact that this is my first 3 posts on this forum is pretty bad haveing to come on defending myself to someone who offended me is pretty ridclious so i am ending this now and asking for a mod to close this topic

I do believe he said he was roleplaying. How do you pronounce your name by the way?

If you had been around at launch you would realize that tipping was the norm. Its his right to ask.

Do you not understand what i'm writing or just not understand english.....
I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH TIPING I TIP VERY WELL FOR TRAINING I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH PAYING FOR TRAINING I HAVE PROBLEM WITH HIS ATTITUDE AND HOW HE RESPONDED BACK TO ME "WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME". WHICH RESULTED IN A ARGUMENT AND ME SAYING I WOULD RATHER PAY A NPC 100K THAN TO TIP YOU 1 CREDIT FOR TRAINING. THEN HE COMES HERE AND FLAMES OXYGEN ON THIS FORUM. Assuming that we wouldn't see it, Then apolgizes like he thinks it will fix anything.

Your blind read what people write. I wasn't the one who started the flame topic he did now he apolgizes thinking that will fix it. And all his other groupies ignoring what i write and responding to what they think i say.

Everyone is missing the point that he is the one who made this topic and i am defending myself and my guild.

My nic is STLpMpNu its been my nic for 5+ yrs of online gameing STL = ST.Louis pMpN u well try saying it and you will understand. Incase you don't already know number of games had a limit on how many characters a name could have and this is the result of my gaming.

Do you think the reason you keep telling your side of the story and feeling that nobody is getting the point, that you perhaps dont get the point? Go on the Smuggler forrums and ask why you couldnt get the service for free, this needs to be added to the "chuckle of the Smuggler" link.

For starters, I do understand english.

I also roleplay my smuggler. Sometimes,I come across someone who doesn't get the gist of roleplay. They usually retort with a "?", or a dig against me. Some people don't always play the way you play. Some people don't always act the way you act. Playing a game that isalso played by people of many nations you MUST be aware of this. Togo off on someone for saying something you didn't like in a video game is a bit extreme in my book. Although I must say, my books consist of mostly Dr.Seuss and Curious George.

My opinion (which is what this post's intended purpose was to accuire)is that the person looking for training lost his cool while playing a videogame, because he thought someone was rude to him. In no way did this post's originator come off as rude to me.

So my opinion is that you handled the situation just fine.

Word of advice to all involve with this game...LIGHTEN UP!!!!!

And with this post you are showing your true self. You come in here to defend yourself and guild. You just ended up yelling at the whole Smuggler community. If i were in your guild I would have serious reservations on you as a representitive. Good day to you.

But when you're at the Geo caves, and your nearest trainer is on Talus... prices will go up.
