I charge 10k per item period. When someone trys to get me to lower it by offering to pay lets say 5k (it dosent really matter how much he offered) I say"OK you talked me into changing my price, how does 20k grab you?"Dont get much business that way but it is sure fun.

Hahaha I gotta try that !

/shout Slicing Armor and Weapons for 3k each, discounts for multiples...

I laugh at those the do per percentage charge slices

And even louder at those who are 5k+ per slice....

How greedy are some of you?

How does a person who slices for5k per slice ever justify a 11% slice?

my contribution, biwat

I charge 5k a slice (1k if the slice is below 20%), 35k for armor suit.

But I'm not going to insult you because I don't understand why you charge only 3k.

To each his own, I guess.

Going to WoW.

This game blows.

I justify it like this:

1. Either way its a permament upgrade to yer weapon. A sliced gun in a ws shop compared to an unsliced has a lot greater difference in price than what i charge, reguardless of how good the slice was.

2. It costs me the exact same amount of cash per slice, irrespective of how good a slice it was.

3. If a doc can raise their price from 6k to 10k, when they already made a fair bit off profit off the 6k, why the hell cant i charge more when my skills are permament, not temporary.

4. Last time I checked, illegal acts werent done at bargain prices ^^

But I charge 7k per weapon, 5k per armour, 15k per container an i cut the price a bit (eensy bit, heh) if its a bulk order (18 items or more) or generally the customer was patient and a nice person (who put up with a horribly low slice with a happy face). I've only had two people say that is to much, and ive done sveral bulk orders of over 18 items (an ive only been master for two or so days!). Even the people who say they can't afford that much still think its fair.

Though funny thing today, person asked me to slice, an i said the usual "Examine me for prices". They saw em and said rather loudly, "No thanks! Thats double the standard price!".

What the hell is the standard price? I really don't think the smug community has agreed on one yet (if ever heh), an it seems the only thing we do all agree on (with respect to prices that is heh) is that 100/% is to cheap...

But meh, I'm not greedy...

I hope

Icharge 3k because more than a few slices are less than 20%, and by your rule of thumb I'd be paid 1k per those... I'd rather charge a median price and feel like I've helped out, instead of taking credits unnesscesarily... I'm trying to make a name for myself, and I dont want it to be associated with high prices. BTW I charge 25k per set of 9pc armor... Sometimes as low as 20k, mainly depends on how rude or polite you are.

I am working smug again, I did the 100cr/% thing then I started charging 3k at slicing 4. I had no complaints. I have made my money and I dont need to under cut a Master with anything less the 10kfor a30% sliceof weapons and 35% for armor. If they can do better then god for them, I slice weapons 99% of the time, so I do offer a discount for whole armor suits. I will stick to the 10k min for any slice, yet if it is a low slice i will offer rebates. Just like a diamond a slice is forever.

heh koi the last thing anyone remembers is the price. They normally remember yer charming smile. As long as you laugh and joke around with them they'll keep coming back (eheh as long as they aren't "scary peoples")

I think that the 10k slice craze is all about ppl who are expectant on the SE, trying to make $ without any real work... Each slice I do costs me approx 750c, reguardless of the quality of materials used.I cant justify telling ppl that 30 seconds of my time is worth 10k.. I'm sorry I dont agree with that.

yeah i agree koi, the 10k pr slice is to make money, so is the 12 - 15k pr buff thats showed up on scylla lately, you have to ask whats the value of hte service your rendered, a 15% effect slice on your 67% base comp chest will be worth it since : 1 you take less damage therefore die less, 2. your chestplate loses condition slower. which means you wont have to get a new chestplate so soon, which means you can make more credits in the lifetime of the chestplate.

If you get a 30% damage slice on a weapon you can kill your enemy faster, so you dont take as much damage and so one, its a permanenet improvment, if it only lasted 3 hours then i could live with 3k pr slice, after all a doc can buff hte same person up to 8 times pr day even more if the person dies.

And before you start saying doc is so much more work bla bla bla i refer you to my otehr post its on page 3 or something

I used to charge 3k for armor, 4k for weapons, and 5k for containers....but I don't want the economy to go down all because some "other" slicer charges cheaper...

so now I do 4k for armor/weapons, 5k for containers.

NOTE: On Scylla....you see people throwing around 3k all the time...unfortunatly....to undersell everyone else.

I've just become a smuggler for the second time. There are some really greedy smugglers out there.

Some one with slicing Lvl 3 was trying to charge me 500 Credits per %. Thats the only ever problem I have had with a smuggler. The 5k your talking about would cover a 10% slice. I couldn't afford to pay prices like that.

I listed a couple ofquite embarassing replies to this threadhere a while ago, I have since changed my tune... I used to do 3k a slice.... Now I do 8k per single, discounts for multiples (50k for comp suit, or 9 pcs). I relize now, that while I made some cheap ppl happy, I lost out. I am now considering the 15k for 1800buffs for 2hrs (or the 50k for the line-cut), the 200k for 1hr with a master ranger, as well as200k+ for crate of brandy, 500k+ for set of comp armor, and millions for the newest pistol. Itbothers me that ppl complain about my prices as opposed to the 15k they spent on buffs that last 2hrs, and are generally poor in quality. It's probley because they got Rpd by the last guy. At least our services last the life-time of the item(s).

On the Flip-Side;

My breaking point is if Master Artisans (Shipwright)are gonna charge 100,000,000c fora YT-1300 upon launch of JTL. In the SW movie"A New Hope", Luke is qouted as; "10,000 credits?, we could almost buy our own ship for that much" yet land-speeders (not swoops or speeder-bikes)are 10k minimum.. He also sold his Land-Speeder for 2k... If this happens, i'm cancelling and giving my $ to theEQ2 team, still SOE but I like MMORPG's.
