looks nice
i am still wondering if the fact that the CU is coming on TC today isn't an april fool's joke though...
will still get on TC tonight tho... if only to get my character a novice smuggler for when it DOEShit TC
i made some changes to the document(only cosmetic, i should be an ID hehe) now i need to find a place where i can put it online...
- added the descriptions of skills as comments to the boxes with the names of the skills
- reduced the width so that(nearly) the entire page can be viewed at 1024x768
if someone knows a way for me to place it on-line, i'll make a clicky (note that i am at work, and alot of sites are blocked :S)

Can someone help me not to worry?
I've just grinded to 2-4-1-4 Smuggler (come back from another game and picked up where I left off), and being a casual gamer, it's taken me ages to get there. I know in terms of what we were before, this CU has helped Smugglers a lot... but am I screwed because I'm not a Master Smuggler? Will the skills I have at the moment help my character survive, or will with everything else revamping around me I'm as good as Novice still?
I don't usually whine (promise, lol) but I need to know how worse/well off I am considering my defences are "very weak" and my attacks are "moderate".
Also, I'm a tad miffed I don't get a pistol cert in the branches I have grinded in. LOL! Seems I chose poorly in purchasing Underworld II and not waiting for Dirty Fighting II! *sighs*

So people know, the XP is incredibly screwed up right now. Pistol XP/ Pistol XP/ Pistol XP/ Combat XP. So yes, we get better at slicing and spicing by shooting things!
Screwed up, but intentially so?
I mean you can easily look at it the other way with combat skills now scattered around the entire tree. Crafting spice makes you better at combat? Slicing armor make better with your pistol?
Sounds to me like an issue that needs a few hawks on top of.
Then again, I've not been in any ongoing or NDA'd discussions to know if this was talked about when the scattering of skills came up (if it did).
It's my opinion that they simply haven;t changed the names and descriptions yet. I've seen this in other profession boxes too. A lot of them need to be updated. I just hope it happens faster then our Master Box did (i.e. now).
I would suspect that the xp thing may be a placeholder until we get the spice/slice thing worked out for our "revamp".
We definitley need to make them aware however of this though.
I kinda feel it is made on purpose and makes sense. smuggler is a combat profession now, you'll need one and his skills in group now. And they said you would be able to rewamp your charachter's skills when this goes live when it comes to combat skills. I think it is fair one can get master smuggler (converting for example carbine skills ) and not be prevented from doing this cause he did not slice/craft. See what I mean?

But I think it is stupid to have pistol skills in the slicing and spicing trees.

Also, you can respec any skillpoints you have used....I have all of mine used and am only like 2142 pistoleer and 1424 smuggler....after respec I'll be master in both.

It better not be intentional...
But I assume it is. It has to do with the Respec. They said you'll be able to respec and combat points used when the CU hits. By gating all the Smuggler boxes with pistol/combat xp, they're allowing anyone to respec to Master.
Sorry, but I find that wrong. I understand the Spice tree is changing with the revamp and CU. That's all fine and everything, but Slicing should remain the same.

I love it. makes it very dabbler unfriendly. And seeing as how dabblers have hurt smuggler since launch I see that as a VERY good thing.

Awwww, we don't get the Intimidator pistol?
I'll have to dabble for it, then!

i just see it as the lazy way out... deciding that they'd just walk all over the concept of hybrid profs and idependant skill lines. XP is just one issue here, but the ability to dabble, or the ability to run up one to get your leg into a profession is another.
could have just as easily spread skills across DF & UA & master box, creatued more non-stackable skills (ala old damage mitigation levels) i think and left slicing& spicing on its own. Already done things like move DF up the line, etc.
instead they just beat it with the biggest hammer they could find.
(that's my impression this week anyway)

Slicing tree should have been left alone. The spice tree can go since we've seen the revamp docs. I think the CU is a big reason they went ahead and showed them to us.

Getting master SL is less dabbling, and more crazy talk
