For those interested I have written out the new Smuggler Skill Tree with
the new abilities and placed them within this spreadsheet. Excel is pretty much
required to view.

Wes told us that Spices were being overhauled. But they're coming from missions in our Revamp. So does that Spice Experimentation and crafting really mean anything?

I don't think there's an NDA to break since this is an open testing/BETA, correct?

So people know, the XP is incredibly screwed up right now. Pistol XP/ Pistol XP/ Pistol XP/ Combat XP. So yes, we get better at slicing and spicing by shooting things!

Screwed up, but intentially so?

I mean you can easily look at it the other way with combat skills now scattered around the entire tree. Crafting spice makes you better at combat? Slicing armor make better with your pistol?

Sounds to me like an issue that needs a few hawks on top of.

Then again, I've not been in any ongoing or NDA'd discussions to know if this was talked about when the scattering of skills came up (if it did).

The real question is what happens when we have different proffesions capable of wearing different armour, ie Master Smuggler/ Master BH, Smugglers get recon but BH get battle armour I beleive, so would that let a smuggler wear battle armour? If not then how does the process work?

It's my opinion that they simply haven;t changed the names and descriptions yet. I've seen this in other profession boxes too. A lot of them need to be updated. I just hope it happens faster then our Master Box did (i.e. now).

I would suspect that the xp thing may be a placeholder until we get the spice/slice thing worked out for our "revamp".

We definitley need to make them aware however of this though.

Wow! Nice Caylin! Thanks for posting this. I haven't been able to get onto TC yet (who'd of thought :smileyvery-happy to look at everything. Thanks for the heads-up.

I wonder if FD will still work the same or if they updated that at all. For both PvE and PvP.

Actually, there are no armor certifications listed in the skill trees. So, what it seems like to me, is anyone can wear any armor at any time. But, certain professions will have training to reduce the hindrances of the armor. So, a master rifleman can wear assault armor if he so chooses, but he's not going to be able to maneuver well at all, his accuracy will be shot to hell, and he'll be slower than normal. But if hee puts on recon armor, he'll be able to use his training to overcome the hindrances on that armor and regain most of his mobility.

So, the crafters and surveyors can wear armor, but they won't be very fast in it. I guess with speeders it doesn't really matter.

At least that's what it looks like to me. I went through all the skill trees and saw not one Certification: Reconnaisance Armor in there.

I think thats just wishful thinking, crafters and non elite combat proffesion (cept TKA) are clothes only.

*edit for new info*

Armor certifications will control what types of armor players can wear by profession.

  • Beginning players are not intended to have armor when they start playing (they will not receive any armor certifications) and are able to successfully fight against enemies that they can conquer without any armor.
  • As a player progresses they will gain certifications for armor in their chosen profession.

So you may be right in the fact that say commando's can where recon armour if they choice but an architect with out a proff that allows the use of recon armour can not wear recon armour.
