Thread: What's the most dedicated RP server?

I'd agree many servers do have small RP communities and I think since we are a minority to begin with we should try to use the same servers as much as possible.

I lost many millions transferring into Starsiderand don't regret it one bit. Rebuilding has been quite easy actually.

Much <3 for SS here as well. A few short months after launch, I "retired" my MBH on Flurry to see what all the hubub was about over on the first "Unofficial RP server" (a decision made before live by many of the Beta testers that has survived many, many challengers). Was also looking for a change of pace, and went Smuggler.

I haven't looked back since.

Heck, I even went out and bought a new copy of the game and am currently awaiting the "Transfer with Items" fix to blow $60 moving my old MBH over here.

Definately an excellent choice of servers for RP, and btw, have you noticed just how many current and past Corrispondents call Starsider home? Or even major names in each professions? A lot of non-corrispondent-penned stickies are written by Starsider residents.

Rubbing elbows with celebrity, we are.

"I think every server has a RP community" - My char on Ahazi is about the only RPer on the whole server

Starsider is the best RP server in my opinion. Why? Cus its got me! I'm *ALWAYS* in Mos Eisley cantina flirting with the Pixies

I haven't played on any server other than Starsider, but I do notice quite a bit of RP. I don't always initiate it, but if someone starts talking to me or if I witness some RP, I play along. I don't like to ruin someones experience so although I don't call myself a RPer, I do participate if that's what's going down.

Starsider hands down. The Mos Eisley cantina is always jumpin. The spice street dealers are always gettin drunk and startin fights, the Imps are always comin in several times a night to enforce and clean the place out, and there is always intersting people to meet and plenty of interesting converstaion. Come and join us.

OOC

Kettemoor and Starsider are the two best known servers for r/p. All severs; however, do have r/pers and r/p guilds/groups.

Getting started can be difficult and frustrating. My personal experience on Starsider has been very bad but I understand that people have the same problems on Kettemoor.

If you keep in mind that its just like meeting new people anywhere, you will have an easier time. You sorta need to market your character and make her/him appealing to interact with rather than just showing up, sitting in the back, dark corner and hoping someone will interact with you.

I try to interact with anyone who makes the effort to interact with me. Of course sometimes we get so caught up in our own stories or activities that these overtures are sometimes missed.

On Kettemoor we have "open to the public" type r/p event almost every night of the week. Its a good way to meet and greet people IC and make contacts for storylines and more detailed play.

A friend of mine who played Beta said they made Starsider the RP server. Ive played on Starsider since launch and found that to be generaly true. Of course not everybody RPs on ANY server and there will always be RPs somewhere on any server, but I've found people generaly more willing to RP on starsider. If you tell people that you're a RPer they'll usualy RP with you after that.

I would suggest if you like smuggler roleplay type things you check out Eclipse and N'varra Ren

I have played on several servers before settling onto Eclipse. The post I am quoting is right. Seek out the one named N'Varra. There are large RP events on an almost monthly basis and she does some good ones. She's even given her life in the past in the support of them. Now that's dedication! Some are supported by the DEVs. How many of you can say you've seen AT-ATs and hordes of troops from both sides in large battles? There are at least three cities devoted to RP'ing that I can think of off the top of my head. Both sides of the GCW are represented with a few of us "shady" types filling in the gaps.

So my suggestion would be to make a character on all the servers mentioned and take a look around. See which one is to your liking. If your ship happens to stop on Eclipse give Dreamweaver a tell. I'll buy you a drink at the Cantina and give you a bit o' spice to pass the time.

Add a few more blue glowies to that list I think

Sometimes they just come and visit from other servers

Sometimes I like to toot my own horn
