I just made it past the containers about 20 minutea go and looking forward to not having to hunt for them again.... my advice? travel, ask and stockpile your own before you make smuggler.

Now i just need to head back and find one of my smuggler friends to train me.

This method of xping is just fricking ridiculous.

I had about 20 to work with...but I only got 4 good results I now have 1000 exp...you need 5k

Well some I bought from the bazzar - DONT DO IT - they were all pre-sliced the scaming rats - I destroyed them so nobody could scam the next guy - Shame on the Dev for allowing this to keep going

So keep killing npc's and Sandpeople - yell out for free slicing - and you will get there

Ok here's the two most common ways to do it IF you have a lot of credits to spend

METHOD 1:

1) Buy a bunch of metal, meat, gas, chemical, hide and bones. These are the ingredients for 1) Knives, 2)Shadowpaw, and 3)Thruster Head.

2) Sit in your favorite spot (i prefer the cantina), and being practicing on Spices (shadowpaw until you get to thruster head). Meanwhile occasionally spam a macro that says you're giving away free spices in exchange for unlocking containers.

Be prepared to do this for awhile. When i went to train in Spice4 i was about halfway to slice. This is the least expensive way (about 15,000 in resources, much better than wasting 60,000 for those buying containers for 3000).

METHOD 2 (More Expensive)

1) Buy an Equipment Factory (about 40K),2000 units of copper (about 3-6K depending), and enough energy to run your factory. Also pay your maintenance whatever you see fit.

2) Find a Slicer with Slice4 and PAY HIM (price range varies) to make you a schematic of a molecular clamp (using the resources you bought). Then PAY HIM to insert the schematic into your factory (make sure to get 1000 units maximum). Now you should have enough resources to make 20 molecular clamps.

3) Once you have 40 knives and 20 clams, buy 20 Locked Containers (lets take the bazaar maximum as a good example) at 3,000 credits each, now with 100% accuracy. This will run you 60,000 credits.

This way will run upwards of 100,000 credits.

I camped mine in a remote city with 3 camps of low level NPCS outside of it. My buddy and I did these for like 2 days. In the process we made about 40k each not including skill items and clothing that we sold on the bazaar. I found 3 gunman's dusters,couple wookie smocks and 5 treasure disks. Xp wasnt bad either must admit.

Anchorhead was my favorite place to spam container slices. I offered 200 credits just to slice the containers for them. Successful or not. Atleast they recieved some sort of cash. And unless clothes are in them they really arent worth more than that. Anchorhead was a good place because of the amount of gambling/terrorist/slave camps around the area. Plus there are4 Reb.terminals close together to slice into while spamming! Just slice, pick 2 missions, and keep spamming. Chances are that your missions will be done for you giving faction pts and credits.

I just got slicing I today, 90% of the xp came from tyrena on coreillia. Start by runing around the whole town once yelling you are opening containers for free. Then stand at the bank and yell you are opening containers at the bank for free.

Note tyrena worked for me, its a good sized town, not massive, and i was the only smuggler advertising at the time.

Have some patience, trust me there is no faster way for free. The way I chose my slices was just choose 1 color and stick to it on all containers. This is the least frustrating way in the end. At one stage i was 3 out of 13 and ALMOST swapped to red, but stuck to it and the next 5 were successful. Swapping colors will only frustrate you unless you are really lucky. After about 2 hours I was advertising less, but people started sending me tells to slice for them because my name got around.

As a smuggler, word of mouth is your friend. Which is kinda cool because its how i imagined it would be. Its a crap way to get xp, but its kinda rewarding once you do it, unless your last slice fails 10 times in a row =P

What is the best area and creature for locked container drops?

If i use a MC on the container, is that 100% success chance? and if so, Do i still gain the 250 XP for slicing it?

Also, Where would MC's be listed under on the bazzar & whats a good price for them?

Make friends with a bounty hunter. Marks seem to drop locked containers.

Maybe you can tell them that you won't ask that BHs be nerfed if they'll give you all the containers they find

Ya a clamp is a 100% quarantee slice, thats why its such a major bonus to use especially for novice slice which blows. I mean the last thing you want to do is fail on a container that you spend 5hours trying to find hehe.

What I am getting tired of is people refusing to let me slice their containers so they can sell it for big Credits. Now Before this comes off whinie... I understand that people should be able to sell things in demand... heck I would...

1. But is there ANYTHING else in the game like this.. anything that is droppign off mobs that is soooo in demand that they can sell it for 2000-4000+ to needie players? A single item drop? Ack. I have people walking up to me and telling me they will sell them to me but if I am not willing to buy them outright they will simply sell them on the bazaar.

2. Secondly... is there anyway to tell if a "locked" container on the bazaar is in fact not spent by a failed slice? if not then this is an additional crap shoot for us. We could be paying a good sum for something that is spent already.

I love the game but that spent me tonight had to log.

I know the previous post sounded whiny .. it made me sick too lol, just chalk it up to a frustrating night. I bought a bunch of couplers and had nothing to use them on (got tired of failign half the time).

I also tried hunting certain NPC's Near Tyrena and couldn't find anythign that dropped more then 1 container in an hour.
