MEH smuggler was fine before they changed it they just needed to add the new contant for it and the smuggler missions and every one would be happy but the devs manage to mess things up just like half my skills and all my creds are gone because of their carelessness while moving my char when i was offline

im waiting until you all see concotion shot sucks. here why. lets asume a group is hunting pickets. we all know pickets attack in groups. so you the smuggler mezzes the extras. after 40 seconds the extras are all on you, 20 seconds if your not master. if you try to be clever and use a camando weapon, and use area mez. you will quickly noitice area sucks. the target will be mezzed, but the pikets sarounding the target will only be mezzed lets say 5 to 10 seconds, if it sticks. then your incapped.


panic shot sucks even more. if you use panic shot on extra pikets, sence it has no root they will chase you, dont remember the timer on it, but when it runs out your incap again


fien death would realy help but only has a 30% chance of sucsess. third incap, dead

So you've actually tried out the new changes and you're speaking from experience, right?

Why don't you give it a shot today and see how it works?


Oh, and there is a way to pull one piket at a time. Even when there's 50 of them milling around. It's not hard. Well, it won't be hard once they fix the pet bug they're introducing with Publish 19.

if you wanna make concussion shot work as it is where it breaks on dmg then make it an area attack!



this now makes the special useful again as a mob will be dazed and rooted until damaged the smuggler can concussion shot several and the group can pick one at a time to damage.


Oh yeah and make lowblow knock them down again! its says it in the description yet it hasn't kd'ed anything since the CU

No offense Saarek, because I don't usually have a problem with you, but REREAD what was said and get that through YOUR thick skull.


I'm talking about how we're supposed to be a 5 in crowd control when we are outmatched by other professions, Pistoleer as one example. I like concussion how it is now, I'm not complaining about that. I'm not even saying we NEED a root that sticks after damage. I'm not saying we should be able to solo everything. I'm saying we are not a 5 in crowd control. I'm saying that our specials are STILL redundant.


I stated all this through examples and possible solutions, but some people just can't wrap their minds around someone making a legitimate argument while providing legitimate solutions.






We are well on our way to a 5 in crowd control, and if you feel another profession is more proficcient in it than us, just because they have a root, then geez man - learn how to use your skills a tad more efficiently. Our specials are not redundant. One special is SLIGHTLY redundant - another special does sweet FA - but the others we have are VERY effective. And this statement... "We are not supposed to be able to take anything on alone. You need to get that through your thick skulls people." still holds true. People DO need to get that thru their thick skulls.


While you have the right idea in wanting the broken specials fixed (who doesn't want that, really) make use of the ones we have effectively and we are still a VERY powerful member of a crowd control team. Couple our skills with Commando for AoE weapons - and you can "Daze" an entire mob in one shot. One bloody shot - if thats not powerful - I dont know what is. Yes, it has to be combined with another profession if thats the effect you want - but I've never seen a CL54 Bounty Hunter take on Jedi with his BH skills alone.



And thank you for taking a general comment to 80% of the community so much to heart. At least we finally have a meaningful discussion in this forum - and not an "I have devs for this and that and blah blah blah.".

The biggest issues I have had with my crowd control has always been the nukers not nowing how to aviod breaking the mez/ roots I tossed.


I think we are ok like this will need more testing to be sure but I do see getting my ass handed to me in the future by some over aggressive commandos or carbineers who ask me after weare all cloning

I knew this would come up at some point but... Smuggler is supposed to be a 5 in CC, not Smuggler/Commando. Other professions can mix in Commando also, I'm talking about just the Smuggler profession.


That's one of the reasons I suggested making Panic an AoE effect. We're "Crowd Control" with no area attacks. We're CC without the most powerful CC move there is. Once again, I didn't say that root doesn't make us as good as others, I said that root AND a lack of things for us makes us not as good. If we don't get a root so be it, I made other suggestions there still haven't even been mentioned.


Take a look at them. I suggest either a root or an AoE/Cone effect for Panic. To be honest, the funniest special in game to me is LB. The ONE special that SHOULD root someone or KD an opponent is merely a delay.


I am not against Concussion, it serves it purpose now, and serves it well, but when we DO have to stand and fight, and we will have to, what exactly does Smuggler give us? Practicly nothing. We can't daze+root an area without being Commando. We can't can't daze+root multiple targets without getting beat up in the process because of cooldowns.


When the time comes to stand and fight or run, you tell me what's more beneficial to your CC, Commando or Smuggler. My bet is Commando because either as a Smuggler OR a Pistoleer you're going to stop them while you run, but you better hope your target(s) don't take damage or else you wont be running far.



As Smuggler stands, there is no "crowd" in our crowd control, and there are other CC specials out there in other professions that are just as, if not more, powerul than ours.



"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I TAKE IT BACK CONCUSSION AND PANIC SHOT ARE THE MOST WORTHLESS PIECES OF CRAP EVER!


Maybe I'll get used to it but I mean, ranged npcs, I hit /panic and I'm immediately knocked down because apparently they're allowed to get a shot in before they get mezzed. well being KD screws me if there are any ADDS.


Also, Concussion doesn't last long enough for me to regroup and heal and all that. And I didn't once see the little state icon blinkign to show it was wearing off.

they changed all this because of jebi....you ALL should know this by now...


We are now a 2 in mezzing....why? look Stopping shot, you ROOT em AND can damage the target. Look at concusion shot...you root em, and you pirck em with a pin and the root breaks. Who is more effetive in Mezzing? The guy that can root and damage without the root breaking or the guy that roots ..and if ANYONE touches the target it resumes its attack ...?


What is pistoleer's rating in mezzing?
