Nah, they were nerfed so badly, that they were removed from the game.

Scouts do not scout. Scouts should go ahead and report whats up ahead to a party. Sadly scouts do not do that anymore. Its kind of pointless when a party can kill anything ahead. Not that you cant roleplay it, but you can roleplay anything reguardless of whether it matters. You can roleplay smuggleing its not very immersive. I just thought smugglers dealing dope was cute. Thats kind of what a smuggler should do.

Although I don't completely hate you like many in this forum (And I understand why they do) Smuggler's dealing dope is an insult. Smuggler's are only drug dealers in the eyes of the devs, who don't actually have any clue what a Smuggler is. A Scouts name implies that they would track ahead for a larger party. What Scouts actually do.....well....Until they change doc buffs and take armor down a bit, then Scouts & Rangers are gonna hurt. The problem is that unless you ARE buffed in this game, then you can get taken down buy a sufficiently tough Diseased Nuna Lair (obviously not, but I'm making a point) A major issue in this game is that unless you are an elite prof, then it really doesn't matter much. That Ive noticed neway.

Hey when I was a Master Ranger I got city banned for "taking a look" at the defensesand the disposition of the defenders just prior to an attack by my friendly rebel friends.

Being covert has its moments. Unfortunately if the other side has some very observant playersyou could get caught.

Scouts and Rangers do haved their uses.

When minefields worked I used to make it ahabit to disarm any Imperial mine fields I found.

Hell, even in RL architects don't architect. I've spent my whole morning sending and responding to emails, pushing papers around, getting my information more organized so I can't find anything later, and drinking about half a bottle of coca cola. I've answered 4 phone calls, none of them of any relation to the project I am on.

I somehow think this is not what I went to school for...but hey, it all pays the same....

I too miss the days when haveing some scout was a blessing. You know back in the day when composite wasnt all that. Since armorsmiths actually wanted a variety of hide. I also miss when maskscent was really needed by large groups. Master scouts fifty meters ahead of group picking their way through spawns. So the group didnt get jumped by ten red. Heck I miss actually camping with other players. While everyone heals up to take another go at that lair that almost got everyone killed.

Sadly vehicles trump maskscent, and terrain negotiation.

Vehicles can be called outside of camp.

When maskscent didnt have no use zones. This has always blown my mind I can storm blueleaf walk past ten klikniks before one notices me. I go to the geo cave your maskscent has broke twenty meters from the entrance.

I miss the days when players actually used novice professions, and didnt view them as filler points. Which they are now.

Well lets be fair to the devs. What do modern smugglers regularly traffic in drugs people counterfeit goods. In other words smugglers are dealing in immoral behavious. Sure there are weapons smugglers, and the occassional medicine or food smuggler, but in reality a smuggler/ aka bootlegger is someone who sneaks illegal goods to non criminals in order to make a profit, and ninety percent of the time thats drugs. We have an entire branch of smuggling devoted to running meth labs. Read the descriptions of where spices come from for a hoot. We run and operate meth labs. I hate to break it to you too that han solo was probabally running drugs. He was smuggling for a crime lord. I hope to god he wasnt smuggleing people and dumped the cargo.

Besides players selling one unit of dope berries is kind of funny for a roleplay element.

Han Solo made his livelihood being a drug runner, being a gambling cheat, and killing people. Before he hooked up with luke he was not a nice guy. Notice in the bar when he flips a coin to the bartender after wasteing greedo. Thats a cold hearted man. A man who had done in numerous times before.

This is symptamatic in RL. People willing to help with wrong doing up to a point. Hey I will smuggle the drugs across the border. I will not sell them though. Meanwhile twenty people die of an overdose in philadelphia, and ten kids go hungry that night. If your a smuggler your a traffic in human suffering. Whether it be dead junkies, or a guy getting waxed with semi auto you modified to full auto.

The story of han solo is the story of a man. Who for most of his life was a man with little to no moral fiber. Untill he hooked up with the rebellion and found a cause. Something worthy to fight for other then himself. Trying to get up leias dress helped alot with that. If that had not happened you can rest assured. That han would have continued selling human suffering ata 20percent profit.

You don't know what Han was smuggling when he dumped his shipment? Spice, of course.

Han smuggled a number of things, including all of the things you listed (though it's spice, not drugs, spice in this game is not the same stuff Han smuggled). The only thing he wouldn't smuggle was slaves. Yes, he worked for a crime lord some of the time, but have you read more of his history in the various novels? There's more to Han than you're crediting him with.

Um. Greedo was holding a blaster on Han, and was just about to shoot (forget that "new" version, Han shot first). I'd shoot Greedo in that situation as well. If you know anything about Han, the coin toss thing was really for show. A front. Reputation. Once again, read some books about him to see what he's really about, or just watch the movies again and pay close attention.

In Han's history, he's done a number of things that would be considered "bad", but I'd say one thing he avoided was selling human suffering. In fact, despite his front and reputation, he often went out of his way to help those who suffer.

It is this version of a criminal HERO that we're looking for in this game, not the scum you describe and incorrectly label Han as.

I agree with you on all these points, however, you said it yourself. A smuggler just delivers the cargo, whatever it may be. BUT, smugglers DO NOT actually deal the drugs. They do not actually sell each inidividual illegal gun, or slave, or whatever. Smugglers do immoral acts to get by, however they dont get involved with the messy stuff. Thats what the Dirty Fighting is all about. We just want to work for the big man, make his day nice. Just pick up that 100k shipment of Glitterstim and deliver it to the dirty Imp General. We dont get invvolved in its usage. We smuggle, we don't deal.

lol, I do too. Han was a tough son of a b!tch before. Sure he got soft, but he was older, and stuff. And Leia in the slave outfit will make anyone change their ideals
