Thread: so...why do you guys hate jedi so much?
On the other hand, there are also quite a few Jedi who tick me off. Really it's the whole Jedi vs BH "war" that's going on that irritates me more then anything else, because like it or not it's nearly impossible to stay out of it nowadays. BH's got FD nerfed, Jedi are getting Last Ditch nerfed... it's turned into an all out war with absolutely no care who gets hurt in the process, as long as "they" get what they want. On the other hand, perhaps I'm being somewhat of an idiot here... there's also quite a few good people on both sides of it, as well as BH's and Jedi who get dragged into the incident when they have no part in it. I've seen Jedi who are GREAT people get needlessly slammed solely because of the fact they are Jedi, and it honestly irks me quite a bit. But then I've seen people who are Jedi go around waving it with the whole "I PWN J00" thing and I pretty much instantly think "Now there's an example ofeverything wrong with Jedi right now."
I myself also hold the stance that most Jedi that are good, you don't see or hear about. I can tell you right now that there ARE Jedi out there who are perfectly good people, and who play like Jedi. Afterall, you wouldn't see them though running around in Coronet because they avoid such public places, and if forced to go through them, they at least make an attempt at hiding the fact that they are a Jedi. Although nowadays, that's easier said then done. I no longer try to even conceal the fact I wanna be a Jedi, because quite frankly there's no way I can get there alone. So of course someone would blab, and in no time half the server would know I was a Jedi, whenever I finally get there, if ever. Although I also don't intend on flashing my Jedi Padawan tag all over the place either, and I'd like to NOT have to hold my lightsaber in my hand all the time, but because of the massive risk of a BH popping outta nowhere and gunning for me, I don't see where I'm going to have much of a choice there unless I want to needlessly risk a ton of EXP... and then the robes as well, but again. That's taking needless risks.
Personally I wouldn't gauge Jedi as a whole based solely on what you see on the forums, or what you see running around in the middle of Theed or Coronet. Those tend to be prime examples of what's wrong with Jedi in SWG if you ask me. Far too many people take one look at the forums and go "WHOMG ALL JEDI SUCK, BURN THEM ALL AT THE STAKE!!!" and then never drop that point of view. For example I could glance into the Bounty Hunter forums and draw the conclusion that all BH's are evil backstabbing SOB's who care nothing whatsoever for anybody, with almost no exception whatsoever. but I don't. (Actually I sorta do, but I wish I DIDN'T have to be so paranoid about anyone with a Bounty Hunter related title. But there's just no telling if they'll go for one of my friends or not, so I do tend to be rather distrustful of BH's in general unless I know them already.) But then I'm going off on a rant here aren't I?
Looking around on the forums though, it seems that it's already too late to stop the inevitible, a Smuggler vs Jedi war has already started and I don't see it stopping now. Hopefully this one won't spiral completely outta control, but I don't see that happening sadly, so eh. Whatever the case, I fully intend to play both, Jedi AND Smuggler, and possibly even a BH char. I also predict that this is going to get me into a ton of fights down the road, as quite frankly? I can see why the Smugglers aren't fond of Jedi, and I can see why others aren't fond of Jedi for that matter. But then I can also see things from the Jedi point of view, and honestly, I do feel rather sorry for them, being discriminated against simply because of the actions of the "vocal" lot, AKA: Those running around in Coronet and Theed, and those running around on the forums complaining about everything. So I guess I don't really HAVE a side in this paticular battle, consider me more of a... vocal spectator, I guess.

I have several Jedis in my guild, and most of them unlocked their jedi with the FS village "new" system, and only one or two with the old "grind professions until you puke" way. I was on my waymyself when the new system hit, but whenI started understanding that there was allready more Jedis thenMaster Smugglers on Eclipse, I rethinked the whole Idea and choosed not to go down that path.
The main reason I don't like the direction Jedi's inSW:G has taken isbecuse of this.
- To common, yes, to common,getting to padawan with the old spam grenades for combat xp (that was just to lol to be true), Eclipse is by far the most Jedifrequent server, and when you seen 60+ Jedi's in theedat the sametime having a Light vs Dark Jedi battle, you understand how far from the canon/eu this is. At this time allJedis was in hiding,and back at the old profession grindand before all the costant "fixes" Jedi's was indeed rare too see.
- The fixes... ah yes, the "fixes". I remember the day you could stumble across aJedi with his possyout grinding xp, you saw him usingforcepowers/saber and he got a tef!and guesswhat! I COULD ATTACKHIM! Aaaah, the good old days, whereit was more true to canon/eu. I miss those,but less seewhat they fixed:TEF's only BH or being S.F (and he if from opposit faction and S.F), Remember the old "die 3 times, die permanetly - reroll your paddie", gone before the first Jedi was unlocked.XP loss from dying removed, Feign Deathremoved becuse of abuse from SO manysides,and now, LastDitch, however worthless ithas gotten (seriously, I have never gottenany damage out of that attack, even if Ihave been at low health while using it).
- On top of this... Dueling on locked PA rooftops between dark/light jedis to increase force ranks,crafting exploits, justabout anything that has been possible to abuse, has beenabused, trade of untradeable sabers etc etcetc. True, slicing has been bugged and many less caringsmugglershas soldweapons said to be"krayted" when infact just doublesliced. Sad for us as a profession, true, but consider that oh somany more Jedi'sgot cought with their pants down then us smugglers.
- Eclipse is also a mecca for jEbays, ieJedi's accounts that's been around eBay so many time it's just sad
What Ido like about Jedi'sare:
- They are iconic to StarWars, butfor me Han Solo & Lando was always the "idol's" rather then luke, after all, he whined so much, but that seems to be running trough the genes as we can see in epII &III 
To bad you have to beat them with a stick toget through the Jedi mob sometimes. I would like it more if they wasn't so numerous.
- I love having the guild Jedi's onmy team while questing, better tanks you can't find, and remember that the Jedi's you rarly see runing aroundin public, is most often those who are really really nice guys after all 
Our forums has, for the most part, been largely Moderator free. (Largely Dev-free as well, but that's a horse of a different color ((red
)) )I would like to avoid having to have a Yellow name post stickied, the equivalent of a branding on our collective @sses, "We are a rowdy bunch, flame away!" like quite a few other forums have received.

They suck, too. But i'm not new to this forum SpinningCloud, and given that there are many Jedi who i do actually hate, it's only fair to answer the question.
Jedi are over-powered. In a multi-player game, no single class should be even 1.5 times more powerful than other professions. They should simply be AS powerful as other classes. Otherwise, it destroys the balance in the game.
That was kinda the point of the CU: People had determined what were the "uber templates" and everyone did the same thing. If one class is the most powerful, most people will want it. Make different methods of combat equally valid, and you'll get more diversity.
The Jedi class itself is ruining the game. The many, many Jedi whiners and griefers only make it worse. The game would be much better off if there were simply no player Jedi. Sadly, it is too late for that. My only hope is that they decide to open a few servers that have the Force turned off for players.

That pretty much sums it up.
In real life there are certain terms for those people: bigot, racist, sexist, narrow-minded, chauvinist, child.....
You do not hate jedi, you hate a type of player who is not conducive to an online community. Those players do not become any better when they log thier Rifleman or AS/WS alts, but when they equip the saber for some reason the rest of us jedi must take assumed responsability for thier bad behaviour.
Not all jedi whine, not all jedi want every other profession nerfed, not all jedi are EBay and i would hope not all smugglers are simple enough to believe such nonse as 'jedi had two revamps' or that 'jedi' are to blame for your past nerfs.
I seem to remember BH crying to kingdom come over jedi using a skill, yet you blame the jedi using it? now some jedi are crying over a BH using a skill, yet you blame the jedi again? Look past the saber, see the bigger picture here....

Your arguement doesnt hold water, you say "The Jedi class itself is ruining the game." Yet you say its because they are DESIGNED to be 1.5 times as powerfull as a regular profession. How about instead of blaming Jedi, blame the people that designed it to be that way? Instead of saying "OMG JEDI ARE RUINING THE GAME", how about "Hey devs, the fact you made Jedi 1.5 times as powerfull as a regular profession doesnt fit with the balance of the CU, why not make them just as powerfull as everyone else and here are my reasons and suggestions....."? Seems to me youll get more attention from the devs, and if the suggestions you make are good enough you just MIGHT get some of the "real jedi" (you know the ones that DONT go runnin around theed/coronet "pwnin" everything in sight" might just support it.
Im sorry just sick of the nerf calling and general bickering on the forums and i woke up on the wrong side of the bed...
