While my first thought upon looking at this thread was "flamebait", I'm going to go ahead and reply anyway. Keep in mind, I'm not a smuggler. I'm a TKA/ID. I'm just here for the conversation and drinks.

I don't hate Jedi. Heck, I don't even dislike them. I think Jedi are cool, groovy, and I'd love to play one myself one day. I'd find it a fantastic experience, in terms of both roleplay and gameplay.

I do, however, have a lack of respect for people of any profession who call other professions overpowered when their own are designed to be 1.5 times more powerful than any other profession in the game.

I have a lack of respect for people of any profession who cry "nerf" on one profession's only working special when it's people from an entirely different profession altogether who have been reduced to using it in order to have a prayer of participating in a portion of their profession's content, ie: Jedi Bounties.

I have a lack of patience for people who leap to cry "this is broken" when others find a way to beat them instead of looking at their own tactics and finding a way to counter it.

Smugglers gave a number of viable tactics for combating Last Ditch to the Jedi without even being asked to. They did it, knowing full well that the tactics they laid out could and would be used against them themselves. The Jedi ignored them.

I do not hate the vocal Jedi community on these forums, but I certainly do not respect them.

I agree.

My top 2 reasons however is 1) everyone thinks that Jedi is the only way to enjoy this game and 2) those who are Jedi are jerks...

Because both of those abilties have already been nerfed in the pre-CU world for the same reasons: Jedi/BH exploitation of our skills.

Because we are delayed and nerfed and ignored and it's been going on two years while Jedi get fixed, revamped, fixed again, balanced, etc. even though they are one profession amoung.. what, 33? Specifically, our Revamp was Scheduled for Publish 9 at one point. You may recal 9 and 10 were both jedi, and fixes to the system meant there was no Smuggler love squeezed in before JTL.

Because Jedi and BH both seem more interested in nerfing our abilities that they "borrow" than keeping them from being borrowed.

Because Jedi seem to think they know more about our class, specials, and revision history than we do.

Because rather than ask us about LD, they spent six hours crying for a nerf in the safety of their forums until we noticed and took umbrage.

Because many, many Jedi aren't really concerned with balance, just their own superiority. Don't accuse us of overpowering based on a special you don't really understand when you are designed to be 1.5 times as effective as any other profession, especially when there are people in the proffession using a template that can and will be a match for upwards of 5 "regular" players, and ESPECIALLY not when the "overpowered" special is being abused specifically to level that particular playing feild by people that are not us.

Because Jedi's beef is with the BHs and we're catching all the pan grease.

Because we've hurt ourselves explaining how to negate the special, and all they hve to say is "It's godmode!"

Because some Jedi are outright LYING in an effort to make their case.

Because the only solution they're willing to accept involves changes to our profession we are NOT willing to accept for a variety of good reasons, and the respose can be summed up as "So what? NERF"

Because we AD three good specials, now we have two, and it's trying to be made one.

Because it's screwing over OUR Novices unnecessarily, but as long as Paddies get a break, it's okay.

Because it's somehow OUR responsibility to deliver a solution THEY will accept. NO.

I could go on, but I'm sure my brethren will get the rest.

I don't hate many Jedi because they assume that they are everyone's goal and that we all secretly wish we could be Jedi. If i wanted to be Jedi, i'd have been Jedi last June. I don't. I never did. So, along with this inbuilt arrogance that they're somehow what we'll all evolve into, they hurt my profession, they're mostly powergamers and little kids who think grinding makes them special and exploiting makes them tough.

SOE making them the toughest profession was the worst possible option, in my opinion. It encouraged even more exploiters and grindmonkeys to go for what should a properly roleplayed profession, not a special gift for gankers and powergamers.

I don't hate those Jedi who don't live up to the example of the movies. I loathe them. I despise them. Did Obi-Wan whine about other people's abilities? Did Yoda Feign Death? No. And nor should they.

becasue we just do i mean think about it they are the uber profession

causeif there would be EVER the chance that a real jedi read your so called "jedi" Forum, he would vomit all over the place.

cause most of you jedi are little cs-r0xx0r-kiddys who got bored of "godmode" and "shot through wall"fights of that shooter, and start messing up another online game.

cause most of you jedi don't even know a bit about what role a jedi has to play in star wars universe.

cause most of you jedipushed a very cool rp-profession into the situation to become a uber-combat profession that it should have never been.

cause most of you jediare so arrogant they can t accept that its not a JEDI-ability that can deal most damage in game, also it goes along with the biggest penalty a ability could have... self incap

cause most of you jedi are lying to get to your goals. I want to SEE these duels, LD works 10 of 10 times without a SINGLE incap of the smuggler who's useing it.

cause you jedi get 90% of the devs attention and STILL DARE TO OPEN YA PIEHOLES AND CRY FOR NERFS OF OTHER PROFESSIONS

I don't hate them really. I just have a general lack of respect for the way the class is structured now. It would have been so much better if they had stuck with the original plan and given them permadeath (and blue glowie status) after 3 deaths. It would have solved the problem of so many Jedi on every server. I'll accept a nerf of LD if they accept that. Fat chance on that though.

Because they won't let us use lightsabers even though Han Solo used one to save that woosy boy Luke's butt on Hoth
