Screw SOE! Who the heck can tell there boss that a project is not going to be on time because it needs to be done right?!

There intentions are obvious, to revamp the Jedi because thats what most people are not and its a big ticket sale for them, not game ballanceing. The newest proffession get the earliest revamp? This is crazy. Think ill re-look my budget and see if SWG hasa place in it any longer

Well, while they're at it maybe they'll give all smugglers a free freighter of their choicefor being good sports about the wait. That is if they add the YT-2000 & YT-2400...

This game could be great. But the DEV's NEED to get thier prioritys right. First of all, they have promised us a revamp for FOREVER and how many times has it been pushed back?

They better start fixing bugs before they make more with JTL.

Is there such a lack of moral fortitude that SOE is unwilling to stick to commitments they lay ... or is it poor management that is unable to accurately plan and allocate resources?

Geevo my friend I am afraid you have hit it on the head. As much as it pains me to say so I believe what we are dealing with isn't so much insincerity as it is incompetence. I could go on for an hour on this subject but won't. I have mastered a dozen skills and the story is the same in almost all of them. Broken skills. Broken concept. Broken promises. We could lay all of this at the feet of the "Jedi" revamp, or JTL, or whatever but in my mind the problem lays at the feet of management of SOE and their poorly conceived and disasterous execution of what should have been the greatest MMORG ever. It is very disappointing.

I have to say, I see some of their reasoning in getting JTL out as soon as possible, despite the current issues in the game. I believe that despite JTL being an "expansion", it's something that really needs to be in the game. I mean, what is Star Wars without starships? This expansion "completes" the game (as the Devs have said) and from that point on, they will be focused on the various issues (existing and ones that come along with JTL) and adding more content. Also, with JTL finished and released, those resources will then be available to work on the various issues and additional content. I believe that's what they want. To "complete" the game and then work on polishing it. (Of course the argument can be made that it should have been "completed" before release, but what MMORPG ever is?)

As for the Smuggler revamp, they've continuously said that Smugglers were a space profession, so I believe that's why the constant delays. It would have been much better for everyone, Smuggler players and Devs alike, if they would be more forthcoming with information on what JTL will do for Smugglers. If they would just cough up some good information, I believe the amount of complaining, Dev-bashing, Smuggler profession-dropping, and (most unfortunately) account cancelling would be lessened. Probably not completely stopped, because of the delay in the releases, but definitely lessened.

As a Smuggler, I definitely want to see our profession done right, but in general, I'm a patient person and if I have to wait for JTL and the Smuggler revamp, I will. I may not like the wait, but I suppose there's plenty to do until then. I'll do the Jedi quests to get my second character slot when that starts, do some business trying to make some creds, and if I feel like a change, I do have that other character I started on another server that I barely played that I can jump into for a new experience (he's based on another PnP RPG character and will be a Rifleman/Pikeman/TKA kind of thing).

In short (too late ) while I am disappointed with the constant "wait and see", I guess I'll "wait and see".

Oops. I got to read it before, but it's definitely "down for maintenance" now. Methinks that was an inadvertent premature public release. (Eww!)

Knew I should have copied that letter last night and pasted it in here. Probably just accidently released early given Caylin's earlier response. In any case from memory it was a new schedule that looked something like [warning... this may be a bit off]:

9: Jedi revamp part 1, Hermit Quest, ID modifications
9.1: Wookiee armor version 2
10: Jedit revamp part 2: trails stuff
10.1 ???
10.2 Wookiee Armor version 3
11 Combat Rebalance/GCW revamp

JTL
Post JTL: smuggler revamp 'because we want to do it right and doing it right means space' -- or some comment that doesn't wash at this point

Forget where before JTL it was, but there was also "corresspondent issues" and "squad leader revamp" and "commodities market changes" in somewhere before JTL as well

TH has a lot of explaining to do. This is obviously not something that was done at the last minute. This decision was made for a while - nodoubtwhy he hasn'tbeen posting in here and working with us on the revamp. That jerk knew it wasn't going to happen in patch 11 and just never bothered to tell us. Not that that coward would actually come in here and stand up like a man to address us personally. They thought we were so patient and understanding with the last delay notice - well, they certainly burned up all of that currency fast. I doubt that people will be so damn understanding now. TH, hope you got some aesbestos long johns, "buddy" - you are in for a rough trip through this forum.

So many broken promises and delays...oh, and these new twists and turns need to get added to the growing list of inequities done to the smuggler profession. Not that there will be anyone around to give a damn after a while.

I would not be so upset if the devs were working on the GCW more, or making for sure that JTL was going to be almost flawless, but from what I read THEY AREN'T! They are making this game Jedi based.

If you want to have superpowers, go play City of Heroes. Don't come to SWG.

Fix the initial skills, then fix the add-ons. Don't screw over the devoted fan base just to appease the people that want to be part of an almostnon-existant force (no pun intended) in this time of Star Wars. I want some actual continuity in this game. If this was SWG: New Jedi Order or SWG: Old Republic, I would understand having a ton of Jedi running around, but right now there should be maybe one on each server, if even that.

But instead, let's screw over the people that are trying to eek out an existance with spices that can't do what food can and fighting skills that are second to a baby nunas.

thoae **edit**ing ass **edit**s. I was cool with the delay till publish 11, happy even. This, however, is a slap in the face. Looks like I'll be haeding to the FF with more than my fair share of fire and brimstone. I'm gonna give em hell guys(and gals)!

LOL, just now saw that.

SomethingSOE didthat actually LIGHTENED my mood.

Now to get back to the nitty gritty of this thread.

You know why we get screwed? Because of the darn Jedi! They are too busy trying to appease the people that are wanting to be characters that should not even exist in this time period in Star Wars. Is it too much to ask for some continuity? Especially if you set a time frame for your game. If this was SWG: New Jedi Order or SWG: Old Republic, I could understand having Jedi running around everywhere, but this is a time when Darth Vader and the Emperor eradicated almost every Jedi in the galaxy.

Maybe they should try fixing the original release professions and then AFTER Jump to Lightspeed they could fix Jedi, since they have no purpose in the economy (try to prove to me that they do) or at this timein the storyline.
