LOL, just now saw that.
SomethingSOE didthat actually LIGHTENED my mood.
Now to get back to the nitty gritty of this thread.
You know why we get screwed? Because of the darn Jedi! They are too busy trying to appease the people that are wanting to be characters that should not even exist in this time period in Star Wars. Is it too much to ask for some continuity? Especially if you set a time frame for your game. If this was SWG: New Jedi Order or SWG: Old Republic, I could understand having Jedi running around everywhere, but this is a time when Darth Vader and the Emperor eradicated almost every Jedi in the galaxy.
Maybe they should try fixing the original release professions and then AFTER Jump to Lightspeed they could fix Jedi, since they have no purpose in the economy (try to prove to me that they do) or at this timein the storyline.
I dunno about yo uguys but I'm doing the jedi quests as soon as I canjust so I can get the extra character slot and make a BH toon and hunt those bastards

I want a free copy of JTL. I bought this gamespecifically to play a smuggler and now it looks like I am going to have to buy another game to actually get to smuggle.

This is the only good idea I can think of.... and the only reason I can see to keep my Smuggler toon.
Nice backbone for SOE to remove the state of the game thread...real real smart.

Oops, I did a double post. The first one said I wasn't logged in. Oh well, I think I got my point across.

Don't blame players for this - players that want to be jedi either. We ALL want the game we play to be better for us individually. Doesn't matter what profession or playstyle we each choose.

This is strickly on the staff's shoulders. Its a matter of poor scheduling, inability to manage expectiations, and poor communication all around. Nothing more, nothing less. "Management" **edit**ed this one up big time.
[edit: added quote.. darn all you other posters!]

I noticed how the link for the state of the game letter actually redirects to TH's letter to the community. Does that mean something? Do they want him to take the flak for it?

This is unbelievable.

The petition to boycott the JTL expansion until the core SWG is in an acceptable statestarts here....
i dropped smuggler when i got bored with it, but i still think it could be a cool profession. this post sums up, not only the developers attitudes towards smuggling, but half the professions asa whole.

I think it was mistakenly posted. They wanted to wait until after the FF, but it went up accidentally. Now they're in for it at the FF.

Just for a moment, let us take a count:
How many smugglers are there all together?
How many Jedi would there be, assuming holo grinding isn't getting eliminated?
How many Jedi will there be after the revamp?
It doesn't matter what numbers we come up with. The point is, smugglers will still outnumber Jedi. I think it's great that we have a Jedi revamp coming. I don't, however, enjoy the thought of the Devs smuggling our revamp across the release of JTL. While smuggling may serve a larger purpose once the expansion is released, our current purpose is only defined by selling faction and slicing items. While the Devs claim to take our feed back seriously, we're questioning their motives; whether or not they're serious, as we've been left in the dark like so many other issues.
DE's, Architects, and Smugglers seem to share the same look on this game. DE's make nothing really disposable, that's in demmand, that can gain a foothold in profit share. Architects make nothing disposable asside from lighting, which can be overlooked since decay is null unless a light source is moved. Smugglers struggle to gain money by slicing for hours and if they're lucky, gain enough faction for a high enough rank in order to sell faction. But, at least DE's and Archs were given something new to work with. Whether or not it functions as we'd all hope, isn't relevant. But - what have smugglers been given? A 95% evade rate on imperial scans? Please...
The state of the game: Broken, littered with new content in hopes of people overlooking the current, overdue issues.
Where's the interaction that we expect from a universe? Where's the smuggling? Where's the architect in factional bases? Where's the DE in useful faction related combat droids of some sort?
It's like heading to a grocery store which advertises such and such - - we'll say kitty litter. You head out there, look for the kitty litter, yet find none. When you speak with the manager, he/she claims that they're out and a restock will be made. A few months later, you head back to the same grocery store. To your surprise, still no litter in stock. When you speak with the manager, he says the same thing as before: a restock will be made shortly. Meanwhile, there are people in front of the store, protesting, shouting false advertisement claims and what have you. Another few months pass, no litter, but this time the manager promises there will be a restock but he has no clue when it will take place. However, he gladly tells you that there's a fresh supply of other cat supplies asside from the kitty litter you've been promised.
It just doesn't make sense, now does it? Yet everyone listens to the same rhetoric expecting a revamp. When we return to the Devs for news, we're told "We promise to give you a revamp, so here's a date. We cannot promise an ETA. But here's a Jedi revamp for everyone! Here's a new bunker which is passed up for 0,0. Here's a screen shot of JTL!"
Yes, we're taken seriously. So seriously, that our suggestions are mocked, overlooked, or the actions which are taken have nothing to do what we suggest.
