Thread: Smuggler's role in JTL

Little off-subject, but has anyone else been hearing about supposed "promises" by the devs to keep the ground and space games seperate? IE, no ground profs affecting space, and vice-versa. Anyone know where this was said? And in what context? I know that this holds pretty much true for the initial JTL release, but what about after that?

Are any of you guys in JTL Beta? I think a few of the things happening there would make you quite angry. I know Smuggler_Caylin was PISSED!!!! Unless they changed that in the past week.
I hate posts like this, lol. c'mon share with the class

I dont know what violates the NDA, but I don't know what they could do to me since i signed the NDA on a different account and different computer.
I know what he's talking about. It's something that could be Smuggler specific but is open to all Privateers. You've heard the devs talking about the Privateer missions and the Smuggler Alliance. Its based on that. Thats all I'll say because thats public knowledge.
All I can say is smuggler in JTL is keeping in line with the cuurnet state of the Smuggler profession in the ground game.

While I admire your optimism, Geevo, I don't share it. To be blunt, it sounds like you are going to grind pilot until the revamp comes. Sure, I'm oversimplifying, but it still involves more grinding than playing, which is not what I paid for.
Grinding pilot... Now there is a phrase I hope never has any real truth to it..
Being a person who absolutely loved XvT and XWA, if done right, I could play JTL for endless hours as a pilot and not see it as the boring endless grind that plagues me on the ground. I will not even play specifically for XP, merely because in the cockpit of a rebel fighter in a twitch-based Flight sim, I canplay to my hearts content and the XP will come in allon its own.
Funny that I have a similar plan to Geevos with friends of mine, we intend to all jump into space and basically dominate the space game, whether or not it takes forever to get master Pilot. Thatit ismore reflexive means that I don't have to be a 'master' in order to be a contender.. I can be a young unproven hotshot 'Ace' =)
Everything the smugglers have wanted since launch without having to be a smuggler.
