In theory they could make 24 macro's, and just have to change the last line to ui actionbla xx to point to the next hotkeyed macro without ever looping a macro
CoB macro's are a necessity tho

Direct effect on smugglers and the GCW as far as grinding faction points.
The recursive macro is almost required for large orders unless you want advanced carpal tunnel.
Highly suggest that if you remove the recursive macro, you make smuggler faction purchases much more user friendly.
The Breakdown
Smugglers, at Underworld 4, gain the ability to purchase faction from recruitors.
Combined with /delegatefaction, this was allowing smugglers to purchase and sell faction to other players.
The recruitor sells, through fixed dialog options, faction in increments of:
- 125 faction for 10,000 credits ( 80 credits per faction point)
- 10 faction for 1,000 credits ( 100 credits per faction point)
Smugglers have a limit to how much faction they can purchase using this ability at 500 faction points. Using delegatefaction we are able to keep under 500 faction points, and continue to purchase faction with credits in order to get larger orders accomplished.
These orders and this smuggler abilityhave greatly influenced the GCW and without them, the GCW would have been brought to a halt long ago as far as most perk using activities exist. It's also the only reason most smugglers even go up this skill tree.
Macros are virtually required at this point, as clicking on the dialog options are overly tedious and produce poor results.
Problems andSolutionswith Faction Purchasing
- 500 faction cap - it forces smugglers to work in very small transfers.
- Solution:
- Raise this to at least 1000 faction.
- This prevents smugglers from buying too much faction for themselves, allowing them to gain ranks too quickly, etc.
- Raise this to at least 1000 faction.
- Solution:
- Faction purchases are in fixed increments that are too small.
- Solution:
- When the player chooses to 'donate' money, have a new window appear that has a sliding scale instead of the choice between the two payment schemes.
- Fixcreditsto faction point at 80: 1
- Allow us to purchase through the new window anywhere from 0 to our maximumamount.
- Solution:
- Continued use results in 'spamming' the zone, as the recruitor keeps saying 'Thank you'.
- Solution:
- Have all dialog private between you and the recruitor.
- Solution:
If you need more information, let me know and thanks for at least addressing it, I appreciate it as do the smugglers. They are nothappy with this right now, so getting these fixes out, or something close to them, is very important to us.
This is part of an email I sent to TH.

All that really needs to be done is toincrease the cap on how much fp you can purchase and make it so you can purchase in larger batches. Right now you can only purchase batchs of 125 fp until you have 500 fp which makes selling large amounts of fp a vast pain. The cap should at least be at least doubled and smugglers should certainly be able to purchase all the fp in one batch instead of several smaller groups.

I started a petition in the GCW forum against this stupid nerf:

Why they would take out something that no one was whining about is beyond me.

RIiiiiiiiiiiight. I'm sure they'll take care of that in the order it was received. Right after they deal with all our other issues they've ignored since launch. ![]()
Maybe we should think of this as a good thing! Like.. another reason to dump this profession for something useful. ![]()

I support Caylin's document and his concerns... you are out of line though.

Grow up. You can be against this and still be pro-Ent. How about asking for more ways for Ents to be available and have more fun providing our services?
I hope no one else in here thinks that Caylin's stance on this is an open invitation for Ent bashing in multiple forums.

Ick, the devs certainly have a talent in alienating themselves.
I can appreciate AFK players being the target for this nurf, but I think crafters are really gonna miss this ability. Looks like another "short-cut" solution to me, instead of coding their way around it, they just give it a good old hammering with the nurf bat

I personally appreciate Panthu coming in.
Panthu has worked really hard trying to get the devs to work on a more interactive entertainment process that everyone could enjoy. Entertainers are not the enemy folks, it is what I'd like to call a 'knee jerk' reaction by the developers.
I personally feel it's a shame they are removing recursive macros, as I really do feel it does more harm than good.

The best suggestion for AFK entertainers is still the once suggested Smuggler special "Cantina shot"...but in stead it killing the afk'r (you HAVE to be afk to be targetable)it should dump their macro's and put em flat on their back (no one there to /stand lol) Should also work on SP spammers though

I certainly don't have anything against entertainers and had a lot of fun in my month or so of playing a master musician / master ent sturmming away on my madiovoil and reading up on and creating at-tk song macros.

BUT, I am very curious how you think this change, as proposed, will do a single thing to change the status of AFK entertaining and afk buffbots. Inside what we all are anticipating are the "new" rules one can do everything they could before just with a bit more copy+paste effort and a little more creativity. How does simply removing the ability to loop a macro or call one macro from another change ANYTHING AT ALL with the entertainer professions (or smuggler prof, or fencer prof, or artisan prof) other then make things a bit harder for the first half hour the change is in?
