Thread: Firefly
Second episode, last 5 minutes, greatest moment watching a series in ages.
"We are not thieves, ok we are thieves..." that whole bit... effin brilliant. effin brilliant.
Kaylee = cute as hell
Companion lady (cant remember her name) can be very attractive.
Wild west in space, now maybe we should send the Devs the DVD for ideas on smuggling and space content.

way too much on sci fi channel on fridays this summer... dunno if i can do the marathon they're putting up everyweek, but i'll sure try
not that i havent seen all the firefly eps multiple times =)
(btw, netfix has these disks too, if you run with them)
Yeah...SciFi definitely has one heck of a lineup going on Friday's this season...
Firefly
SG-1 (Love the new cast they're putting together)
SG-Atlantis (Looks to be taking some new and interesting directions)
Battlestar Galactica (Didn't really get into it last season, but I'm gonna give it a shot this season)
That's 4 hours of my Fridays that are definitely taken up...
Sci Fi is so kicking my ass this summer. Now that they're showing Firefly the line up they have for Fridays is simply amazing (though I'm a little iffy on Starscape, er I mean Fargate, ersorry Stargate 1--could work out very interesting though). Can't wait for Serenity, either.
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
And the film is coming soon. "Serenity" hits theaters in september.

Firefly was an excellent series.
that being said, having seen the previews to Serenity, it actually looks like a bit of a letdown. i sure hope they can keep it good. a big budget Firefly is appealing if done right.
I have many friends who have seen test screenings and they said it's mind-bogglingly good. Some have said, "In my top 5 movies of all time!"
Pretty sweet. I have high hopes. (You KNOW it's going to be better than Eps 1,2&3 combined.)
The only problem I found when I watched the trailer for the movie was.... THEY FREAKIN ADDED IN SOUND IN SPACE. Dammit. That was one of my favourite things about the TV series, no BS sound effects inthe vaccuum. Ah well, Joss Whedon is my master now.
I'm gonna miss the slow twanging of the banjo to accompany the space scenes.
I hear ya on that one!
I think for me what makes it cool is that you have characters who operate on a level outside of normal laws and rules - people who's moral code is their ultimate guide. Mal's loyalty to his crew, Zoe's loyalty to Mal, Simon's loyalty to his sister - all people who don't give a second thought to breaking laws in order to protect the other.
I also foundthat I didn't really notice/care aboutthe Sci-Fi aspect of it so much as the characters and their interaction with each other are so darn good.
September 30th - mark it on your calenders! ![]()
