Thread: If a developer ever posted here . . .
Well as i see it, sitting and eating popcorn is a very bad idea, would of liked to seen.. sitting down with clip board and taking down notes eating away at my popcorn
as if i would have time to eat much popcorn..
I and i am sure others would love some communciation from anyone that honestly know the correct answer to.. i have seen so many post paste it's pittyful.
Unanswered tickets u have lack communication even written down as a report, it's a waste of my bugged game time..
It'snot hard to be knowingly honest with the answers to the paying ppl. we are adults and can i think understand well that there is alot of hum puks ups.
Just how many threads needs to be made for anyone to reconize and do something about them? I have seen same questions over and over again but /sigh..
So while ur eating ur popcorn, plz take notes from these questions and spread them along to some one that can give answers to..
/rant off

Questions?
As far as the upcoming publishes concentrating on more bug fixes, where do profession bugs (i.e. broken/improperly working commands) fall in the priority ranking?
How do you respond to the perception that jedi and bh seem to get the majority of fixes/revamps while other professions seem to fall by the wayside?
And now, just because it's still early for me and I can't resist the urge for silliness:
"WHAT...is your name?"
"WHAT...is your quest?"
"WHAT...is the air-speed velocity of an unlaidenflit thrown by an angry Wookiee?"
/end silliness

To go 2 years without any fruitful Dev info, and then we get a "sits back and munches on popcorn". That's demeaning and insulting to all of us who have played as Squad Leaders for the last 2 years. And then we get another kick in the crotch from a "I'm not Mythical, I swear!" So you've just been sitting back watching us bemoan our situation, begging for information and help, and just eating popcorn like we're some kind of Freak Show?

Really - the devs can not say more then they are allowed to. She was dropping by to say that yes they do read the forum and they are interested. What she was not saying is - we currently have this to tell you. So you can either be acknowledged or ignored - which would you prefer? I prefer the acknowledgement - fluff is all she was allowed to express so that is what she did. I see many people begging for dev posts about their professionand when the devsdo post even if they have nothing to say other then we do care and are watching they are flamed.
btw: for anyone who care to know... The profession with the least red names of all to ever post in it.... "Rifleman". The last red name post was when Klawenga was the correspondent. That is actually not quite true - Tiggs posteda opening for correspondent once since then, and Thunderheart did that as well.... but that is it.
Now on to what I Would like the devs to see if they continue to read this thread.
SL xp should not = pistol xp, It needs to be gained from doing SL tasks for a Team. (hopefully the idea of Team XP bonuses etc will bring this about)

I understand what you're saying. I highlighted what I take issue with.
The Dev's silence does nothing. Nothing. I know they're told by their superiors not to post too much, because if they post Known Bugs lists and such, then people will try to exploit those bugs to their benefit. I argue the opposite: By not posting a list of Known Bugs, they leave us to our own devices to determine if a "situation" is "Working as intended" or a Bug. This leads to situations like the old Powerup-Before-Slice glitch that everyone used for a while. Is it a Bug? It that how it's supposed to work? Don't know, but until someone tells me not to do it, Go for it. Am I as a non-CH supposed to be able to have 4 pets in my datapad, like I do right now? No clue, but until I hear otherwise, I'm gonna enjoy them. And then, if it's a bug, if it's stealth-fixed and my pets break of disappear, I'm gonna complain.. Just like every other player in the same situation.
Security through obscurity doesn't work, it just leads to Exploiters by Accident. By telling us nothing, they're just telling us to do whatever we want. By providing information early & often, they can prevent alot of the whining and complaining, and give us all a happier environment for playing in.

Unfortunately you have to do it this way - every mmo on the market has to do it this way. The reason for it was as soon as people find out about an exploit they go and test it (even if they do not plan to use it in the long run). It is better to shutup and monitor and ban in private then it is to post about it. I agree it would be nice to have a Acknowledged bug list (there is one in the forums in the knowledge base but it is not comprehensive Link<Hey - "here is where the bug is that can be exploited" - that just says "Hey exploit this" to most players. It is a fact of Human nature that we take any competitive advantage we can so better to not let the vast majority know and just bannerate the ones who do take advantage of a bug.If you know something is a bug (even if unacknowledge) and take advantage of it you are exploiting - so in your case of 4 pets in the datapad since you know the general limit is less you are exploiting a bug. You do not need to be told it is a bug (you already know from what you are saying) you are exploiting if you continue to use it.
I'll be honest with you, I don't know if this is a bug or not. I had 1 my pet Kaadu for over a year. With the new kashyyk stuff, they've started adding Pet Deeds as quest rewards. Now, I can "Generate" the pet into my datapad just fine. Doing so lets me have more pets than I should, the drawback is that I can't trade them to a CH for training because he can't give them back. So they're useful as mounts only. Is this by design? I honestly don't know. They are quest rewards afterall, so I'm inclined to think yes, Working as Intended.
I'ld much rather see them actively pursue people abusing a Known Bugs list, than ignoring people using a bug that's not "officially acknowledged", hoping to stealth-fix it in the future.

I am sure your intent is good, but coming to the SL forum and telling us that Rifleman...a profession often included in FOTM templates, gets fewer posts is frankly...bull. Riflemen don't get as many posts because the profession as a whole is working fine. This is made clear by many FOTMs before and after Curb including it. Can the same be said about SL? No! So chill, moral has been lowand some of them are just a little upset by seeing their profession in a constant state of chaos.

Sure, I go to bed and someone invites Tiggs in for a popcorn.
To answer the question: What is your vision for Squad Leader? What can we the SL community do to help further SL towards that vision? If you don't have a vision (or any freaking clue of what to do with us), what can we the SL community do that we are not already doing to help form a vision? Hey guys, keepthose conversation topics coming. But please try to stay civil. Tiggs just wanted to let you know that these threads do actually get read. And Ackehece is correct in that is is not Tiggs' place to pounce in here and promise us the sun, the moon and the stars.
Iwant to keep an open dialog here as long as possible. I'd like us to show the developersthat, moving forward, this is a place they can come for meaningful interaction and useful discussion, not just to get screamed at - even if they really need a good screaming at.

But I'm not going to fall for another bland & generic "What should SL Be?" thread that gets mysteriously "lost" like the last few. Get someone in here with some authority, that's willing to have a conversation with us and not just a Single Post, and then I'll be impressed.
