Thread: Let's agree as a Smuggler community to charge more for the new slices.

I guess im the only person who slices for fun and to help people out, i never charge for slicing and will only slice for people who either i know, are in my PA or my faction (well, before they knackered slicing i did anyway). The rest are out of luck.
I dont need to charge for slicing, in fact the way it has gone for me I never have to pay for weapons, armour, ships, speeders, in fact cash is worthless to me now as iam part ofa syndicate of players who can get me anything i ask for.
"Yeah well, your lucky" im sure the response will be to this, well I dont believe in luck, i believe in Karma. I have been generous to everyone i have metand it has come back my way tenfold.
I know a lot of crafters who will read this thread and laugh so hard their sides will split.Most craftershave more cash than they will ever use or need, Smugglers (being a combat profession and selling faction) are always flush, andsomeof the pricessuggested are, in my opinion, greedy and pointless. Plus they alienate new players (i am not so annoyed with those who suggest a reasonable sliding scale, i'll accept that).
I'll tell you now, if on my server this happened and players set a cartel price for slicing, i wouldundercut them constantly until they were paying players to give them weapons toslice with great enthusiasm(i can afford it, wouldnt even dent my bank acount).
I hate greedy players, i see them in every mmog i play and my pleasure is to stick it down their throats

At 100k per slice ur charging 700k for a suit of composite to be sliced when I paid only 100k for my suit of quad-kineti-layered comp.....do u really think the service ur providing is 7x more valuable than that of the armoursmith?

Good suits of armor go for 2 million plus on my server.
If you expect to get level 4 slices, which will be VERY rare to get ahold of the components to even DO the slice, then you should be expected to pay. Got me?

Weeeeeeeeeeell it was kinda a cut price
. He usually sells quad-layered stuff for 200-250k. Even so, armour crafting requires much more ntime, effort, money and resources.

I WAS charging 5K per slice pre-CU. I'll be charging more when this comes out... simply because now we can guarantee the kind of slice and it'll probably take time to explain to customers what the options are, etc. I figure I'll start out at 10K per slice for my effort, plus whatever the cost of materials I have to use. If people pay more, prices will go up. <shrug>
I dunno about charging more just because I'm a master smuggler... I like to think that the fact that I AM a master means people will come to me more than non-masters... I don't like to try to charge way too much. Besides, the customers that really appreciate good slices on good items seem to tend to tip handsomely.

Nope, I don't think i'm 7x the man...
But, I'm not going to be charging that either. However, if my bretheren wish to, may they do so with a grin.
