Horrible idea. Utterly horrible.

They bring me the loot parts and tops out of all 4 levels I top out at like 23% total, = 11.5k

That is retarded.

I think you missed the "plus the cost of the loot parts"

Personally, I am going to offer level 4 slices for 100-300k if I provide the component and they have a level 2 or under sliced gun, and 20-30k if my customers provide the level 4 component and have weapons already sliced to level 3. If they have a level 2 sliced gun, and want a level 4 and provide the components, probably 30k.

Those components are going to be very rare and will be worth the money if I am going to provide it.

I would be interested if some smugglers start charging 250k or more for ground up100% customizationslices.

I actually like this system here. Considering that the loot parts will be expensive, this model will work well.

It is really close to what I was saying in one of my above posts.

If a player has a 40% customized gun and wants it taken to 100% using my components, that will run 30k + Market Value Component Cost.

Unless the original poster meant that the person getting said item sliced paid or bought the loot part then decided to get it sliced and had to pay for it again? No.

That is even more horrible of an idea IMO.

Okay, If I spend my game time and loot an item that is selling for 500k and someone wants me to use it on a slice of theirs, yea I'm going to probably charge +600k. I sure as hell won't charge 511.5k.

If they supply the item that they just spent 500k on if they did buy it, I'm not going to ask them to pay another 500k to get it sliced.

Regardless. 50k for 100 points of customization is a horrible payout imo.

Bottom line charge what you want, that is how you stimulate diversity in a market place beside with in a month a "general" price for slicing will evolve.

I hate to be one who charges too much. Too much meaning how much I'd expect to pay for the same service. Truthfully...anything more then 1-200k is jus' rediculous. Especially for armor...Now that's talkin' a level 4 slice. That's also talking that all I'm doin' is makin' it go to 4 from 3. If I'm starting from scratch...well, maybe 150-250k. Even at that I kinda feel bad at it. I'm not greedy, but I know the parts are gonna be kinda rare. I might knock 50-100k off for a nice Rebel or something.

I'll probably even do level 1, maybe even level 2 slices for free... like any good spice, start 'em off with a taste so they keep comin' back for more. But it still depends on how hard it is to do those slices. If I can do them with stuff I make myself, then yeah, no problem. I'll probably charge a donation price to Rebels and maybe 5-10k for Imps.

I won't talk bad about other Smugglers who make people pay quite a bit, because people are still more likely to come to me then. I'm all for settin' a price range that honorable smugglers stick to, but that means that it needs to be prices I can see as doable.

I used this example in another thread, but I don't remember where it is, so I'll paraphrase myself.

Jellyfish Hologram. Comes from the Avatar, not even very attractive. Does nothing. just sits there, giving off a blue light and looking so-so. It is, however, rare loot and it comes from the Avatar -- just like the slicing components that we need for lvl 4 slices. Sold for 1.5 million.

Now... you wanna charge how much for a lvl 4 slice???

I like that idea about the multiplier, I'm gonna charge 20k for a level 1 slice and so and so forth for upper level slices. But who cares about a novice smuggler's opinion? I vote for revamp...and soon!

As it seems, the new slices will be a lot more versatile...and harder to cover, if the current loot slicing system sticks. My vote, is that we make the average price per slice at least 100k. COME ON SMGGLERS! LETS FINALLY MAKE SOME MONEY!

Yeah, not so much. You want to make some slicing-related money? Go camp yourself the components, and then resell them. If 3 different rare components are needed, then you're morelikely to find 3 desperate people needing one piece rather than someone REALLY desperate guy willing to pay for the whole thing. So start parting 'em out.. THAT will make some money. The slice itself? Eh.

I figure that 99% of our high-end slicing business will all be from customers providing their own components. Why not, if they can getthem just as easily (easier in some cases) than we can? So then we're just charging for our time, which won't be much. So it'll come down to who wants to earn 2.5k for 30 seconds vs. someone that wants to earn 10k. 100k? Not real likely, at least after the first few weeks.

If it's all as rare as it sounds, then I'll probably stockpile the good stuff for my OWN USE. Customers and friends are bloody outta luck. You want that T4 slice? Not unless you've got the mats, pal!

Not everyone will want to put the time into gettin' thier own...or maybe stockpile them for thier own use. Because of that pricing can still be up there. Personally, sure I'm gonna slice my own stuff up, but that'll only take a few slices. After that, guildies get thier stuff up there. They'll probably supply me with thier parts or pay quite well. (They do that, great bunch of people)

Because of guild stockpiling though, pricing is goin' to be through the roof. Guess we'll see though.

You know what? If you want to sell your converted stuff over for 100k, that's fine with me! Go be nice, and price it accordingly to how hard it was for you to get it... All of the converted stuff will be gone in a week... Then, the people with a buck in mind like myself can come in, once that the stuff will have to be looted, and I can go and sell my "stash" for 1.5 million credits a piece.
