10,000 minimum for a slice, Why are you only charging 5k????? People pay 15-50k for a buff that lasts 3 hours, and your charging 5 k for a permanant "buff" to a piece of equipment. You are selling yourself short.

I agree that you shouldnt slice anything for anyone until you're at slicing 4 or master. For a slicing 4, 5k would be average but for a master 10k is average across 80% of servers I would say.

Considering Docters use good materials for their buffs and I use pure crap resouces for my tools, Im making a huge profit with 5k. Slicing a weapon or two literially only takes a minute or two.
I do, how ever charge 10k for armor, composit armor is hell to slice. I think we can all agree on that.
Yeah but why not make 5k more?

This game has people who'll pay 5 million for a weapon. Random or not, they can afford to pay more than 5k for a slice. Just because the devs made slicing random doesn't mean that people have less money to spend on their weapons or that my time is worth less.
When I first started slicing, I worried about having to make a good impression. I'd slide on my prices when someone reacted to them being too high. Happily, I've gotten over that. My prices are on a sliding scale from 5k for a low slice to 25k for a high slice -- and they don't change. If someone doesn't want to pay that little for a slice, then I don't want to deal with them. Wait until they see my prices after the revamp!

I usually do 5k per item for average customers.
If they're jerks, 7-10k. Yeah, I confess, I do this so they will pull that "fine, nevermind" crap. I especially love the "what!? you gotta be nuts" responses that come AFTER I already sliced their gear. Hasn't happened yet, but I am waiting for the guy that says "no way" so I can say "thanks for the new ____."
Friends, repeat customers, and people who are just generally nice get 2 or 3k per item.
Close friends are free...duh.

M y price is 5k atm, but normally customers tip me over that, but after reading this I might up my prices a bit. However i do see some master smugglers charging 4k and less for a slice, and quite recently one selling slices for 100 cr per % for imps.

So in short i should get to slicing 4 before i slice for the public. Then have prices of about 7-10k for a weapon, and what for armour, cos no-one has really said?

My pricing is more complicated. I have a 10k base price, 2k discount for covert imps, 3k discount for overt imps, an additional 3k discount for guildies (im in an all-imp guild), 6k overt rebel tax, and 4k idiot tax. I charge them the final amount. For example, an overt guildie would pay 4k, a rebel idiot pays a whopping 20k (which most refuse). I determine if the idiot tax applied when they first speak to me, and if they seem like an idiot of someone fit for the Chuckle thread, I apply it.

I'm in the 5k per club myself on Kauri, but then again I get my WUK/AUK for free from a guildie so overhead is minimum. Maybe I'll try and see what the market will bear now that I'm MS.

My guild recently broke up, but we had well over 350 members, making us the largest imp guild on Kauri. Doingfree slices for everyone and all their weapons is enough to put any smuggler in the red. If the guild only had 50 or so members, it would have been a different story, but as it was, i think 4k was a fair price. My close friends in the guild got them for free though, so it balances out. With only 4k per slice, I'm not making too much off the guild, but im not going broke either.Oh, and we also had several WS's that had me slice for them.

Ive goten this more then once. Only once did I actually get a new weapon. Usally when people hear you say "Thanks for the new weapon." They usally pay up. They always have the money, and if they dont their friends do.

I think your prices for weapons seem reasonable. For armor, I'd put it at the same for individual pieces and give a discount for an entire set or close to it since some races can't wear a full set. You could also set different prices for different types of armor. Comp being standard, Ubese/chitin/bone a little cheaper and RIS, Mando and other rare ones more than comp.
