Thread: Smuggler Request to the Devs to clarify the changes on Feign Death. What does it mean to us?

In PvE maybe?
Do I win?
(btw for you idiots who are missing the other half of your brain its effect in PvE is basically unchanged)
You know that for a fact? Saw the results of some tests? Because call us half brain idiots all you want, the fact remain, the devs never mentionned a difference between how FD work in PvP and in PvE.
I sure hope you are right and it is basically unchanged in PvE. But will take something slightly more convincing than name calling to make me believe it. Like, a quote from a Dev, or some testing reports.
Oh and btw, name calling is very weak as argumentative method.

I never saw Han play dead, strange.
Han was also skilled enough, he could use a rifle or his Pistole a DL44, do u have ever seen a DLL44 ingame???
and by the way I never saw Rebells or Imps fight in composite Armore. get buffs before a fight, fights with stuff and Hammer, I never saw TKa and what I never saw in Episode 4 to 6: more JEDI than yoda, Luke and Obi-wan and the 2 Siths Darth Vader and the Emperor!!!!

I find one stars to be a weak arguementative method.
Genius conclusion there.

My first thoughts are way too negative (things like "When in doubt, nerf Smugglers") ... maybe I will post later after I reflect on this and we learn more.
QFE. "Erge to kill...rising..."
But someone find me the post from a Dev in here that says "Feign Death is working as intended". It was the middle of last year...

you are right I can remember a post like that...
I will search 4 it
I never seen Han fight a rancor either, but now we have some pve only skills.

Nor did I ever see Han selling spice on the streets of Mos Eisley.
Or rigging up equipment that wasn't his own.
Or wanting to join the Rebellion so he can bribe people and actually help set up a rebel base.
Han == piss poor example for evaluating SWG "Smuggler" skills.

/golfclapFirst off, boyo, leave the sarcasm to the pros. Get a little better at it before you swing and miss like that. Because you just basically missed the ENTIRE point of what I said. Not dying is NOT winning. Not dying is just that: not dying. Or in gaming terms, a "push" that is where no one wins. I do not achieve my objective of killing you, nor defending a base, nor anything else while I'm feigning death. I'm not making money. I'm not getting xp. I'm not achieving any goal, save not dying, which yes, for SOME players in SOME occasions IS the goal, but that is the EXCEPTION, not the rule. And I'm losing things as well. I'm losing time. I'm losing health in the case of black barring. I'm losing armor condition. I'm losing real life money because for every second I'm feigning death, I'm not playing the game. Now, are there times when those losses are mitigated by: the inconvenience of not dying, the preservation of whatever activity I was involved in, the frustration and confusion of the enemy who is trying to kill me but can't? Yes. Sometimes. But again, not always. Also, there is some evidence, ie: JustG's quote that these changes MIGHT affect PvE. Maybe. But then, they might not. But you haven't tested it either, so you're not qualified to say that it will or it won't. Me? I'm better qualified to hazard a guess, although that does not mean I'm right, just that there's a better chance of it, because I've been here a REALLY long time, like two years before Beta. I've read every word the devs have said. Every interview about this game. I've been on these boards a LOT. I've seen'em come and go, and it sounds like a bad move that will cripple an already not entirely functional skill.So. Try thinking and THEN typing. It works better that way. And save the glib remarks for shocking your parents. They don't work so well here.
Wow that was weak. Do you know if my parents are even still alive? Nice one, "pro". And no, your not a hardass...
Maybe you dont PvP much. Again, when you can GET UP AND WALK AWAY while yur opponent dies fighting others that is a win.
Seems like you all are jumping on the "devs suck" bandwagon. Please look at what the TC testers are saying. Or test it yourself. Or you could just sit on yur butt and whine some more.

it won't be pointless in PvE. cuz once you FD the mobs stop attacking you.
just made it useless in PvP.
When was the last time you used FD? For a very long time now, MOB's will keep aggro when you FD - combat does not break. As soon as you get up, no matter how far away the MOB has wandered, it will still come back after you. If you're out hunting alone, it's damn near useless in PVE...and now being completely useless in PVP, it's yet another thing about Smuggler that doesn't work or is pointless.
I'm not usually one to spout off stuff like that. But recent announced changes have done nothing but cater to combat players while non-combat professions. And I'm now about at my breaking point. We've been told before that Smuggler is not really a combat profession - we are a hybrid. Despite the fact that 100% of our prerequistes are combat. Despite the fact that 75% of our skill boxes take combat xp, yet we have no combat mods whatsoever (yet dancers and musicians do have a few defensive mods). Despite the fact that very very few people use spices since the Chef revamp. Now only 2 of our specials are actually useful. Apparently smugglers are nothing more than slice monkeys and faction sellers.
The devs needs to really stop and reconsider their apparent current that combat is all that matters in this game. It's pushing more and more non-combat players out.
