Thread: 45% Slices on Weapons
This appears to be the same phenominon we experienced last week with another smuggler giving 90% chances to slice for a particular stat. He mentioned using a load of CDEFs.
One thing I noted about the screenshot: The Backpack inventory.
1) It has only 9 items.
2) It says 100% (50/50).
3) There is no scroll bar on the right side to indicate that there are other items that aren't in the window.
Could be a known GUI bug that I've never heard of, but can anyone explain this?
My guess: What if the weaponsmith used the same material to make the gun as the WUK and as the Smug uses to make his clamps/knives. Maybe sameness counts.
Maybe later on tonight I'll post a screenshot of a 145% slice I got once. I have PS, and I could do it such that no one could tell - it's very easy when dealing with gfx like we have in SWG, where there is little to no anti-aliasing.
People who ask for screenshots make me laugh. I want proceedure.
Greatsails has me thinking now, personally I don't care about if he can slice a weapon to 45%, never have, at best the screenshot would prove that you could slice up to 40%, but it really doesn't prove that either.
What I am curious about is how he has a full backpack with 9 items in it? What loophole in that game could create this? By looking at the picture it is fairly obvious that there is nothing else in the backpack.
Oops: backpack has *10* items. I can't count.
But still ..... ?

Wow, that was informative =p.
Why not? How do you know?
I had a master WS make me WUK made from same copper I used in a few crates of cdef pistols. Sliced close to 100 cdef pistols with wuk, knives clamps made from same copper used in the pistols -- no difference. Test it yourself -- I don't have 100 screen shots as proof.

Yeah...so what? Everything in this post of yours is armor. It's common knowledge that you can get up to 45% on armor. I have numerous times.
It's WEAPONS that most of us don't believe can be sliced for more than 35%...WEAPONS.
On the other hand I'm willing to leave the possibility open that there is a bug of sorts that results inSOME people on SOME servers doing these slices. For example there are a ton of people that get badly bugged stats from using spices and food. I, on the other hand, routinely still use Pixie and Sunburn and have never had a stat bug yet.

Sorry guys, I was in your corner until this evening. Got a 45% slice on a piece of Chitin armor for someone. The rest were all high 30s. No explanation. Those exact same tools and exact same process failed to produce any more45% for the remaining 20 armor slices that night.
Rudd was right.

Maybe i am wrong here but....
Why are you all digging up such old posts? lol
This was back in August, before numerous patches we're implemented. I'd be curious if the gy getting 45% slices on Weapons is still getting them.
Back in August i hit above 35% on weapons n Intrepid. I haven't changed the way I slice, but ever since the patch where they fixed slicing IV, i haven't hit once above 35%.
So, is this entire post no longer irrelevent? Or is somebody still hitting above 35% on weapons?

i actualy got a 37 slice dont know how i was using good copper for the knife, i dont know the wuks components had a guildie make me lots(thanks quest) and the molec clamp had a 98% tag on em bought em from wabo
just was blindly slicing cdefs by the crate(again thank you quest)and i looked at the slice and i saw 37% encumberance slice. i took a screenshot but for a while ive been having problems w my ss's not saving(gunna try dumping all the ss's i had mayeb its full or something lol)
but yeah 37% done by accident randomly, dont anyone come to me for a bigger slice because it isnt likely ill ever do it again
also im only slice 3 which i thought maxed at like 25 or 30% anyway(will be 4 by tonite i hope)
well just my experience
dont everyone come up to me asking for super slices it prob will never happen other than that one lucky cdef

Sorry, I'm a bit confused... a 37% encumberance slice on a weapon? Are you sure you didn't accidentally do an armour piece amongst your cdefs?
I'd love it if they added the possibility of improving ham costs on weapons as well (just think of all the needless suffering power hammers users could avoid), but I've never seen it happen yet.
Ouroboros
Read this whole thread. Man, I can't believe people are still trying to figure this out!! lol.
Fact #1: Screenie posted 8-13-03.
Fact #2: 10 crates used to be 50 slots. (5 slots per crate)
Fact #3: As some point they patched slice 4
Fact #4: A 45% slice may have been, and probably was possible at some point. It is also very likely that results could be predicted (though not well, as he admited he couldn't get his T21 to pop)
Fact #5: Itwas also possible to kill a bearded jax for a while with a CDEF pistol.
Fact #6: What was possible yesterday, often is not possible today.
Fact #7: The current max for weapons: 35%. Statistics prove it. If you hit for 37% its a game error. (Kinda like when you walk into a house and the walls dissapear)
Fact #8: Materials have ZERO effect on spice. Based on polling (this thread and others) Materials have ZERO effect on slicing at this time.
Fact #9: Smuggler is the ONLY class that can solo a Krayt Dragon. What more do you people want?? The ability to guarantee a 40%+ slice every time? Where's the fun in that?
Let it go people. If you think its possible, slice CDEF pistols until you hit it. Otherwise, accept the limit and move on.
Thanks! ![]()
I got a 37% slice on armor once. 35% a couple times. 34% is not totally uncommon. I once was a master artisian/novice weaponsmith. Knowing I was going to change to smuggler, I made many crates of Weapon/Armor upgrade kits for the purpose of experience gain. These WUK's were not experimented upon. Guess what?
I still have many crates left over, and have never purchased a crate since becoming a smuggler. In other words, I got all these results with those "inferior" WUKs. I'll let a novice make my kits anytime.
"Fact #4: A 45% slice may have been, and probably was possible at some point. It is also very likely that results could be predicted (though not well, as he admited he couldn't get his T21 to pop)"
This isn't a fact, it's a hypothesis. You really have no clue what a "fact" is do you?
"Fact #9: Smuggler is the ONLY class that can solo a Krayt Dragon. What more do you people want?? The ability to guarantee a 40%+ slice every time? Where's the fun in that?"
110% false. I watched a bounty hunter solo a krayt once. In fact I was trying to kill the same krayt and he totally owned it way faster than I could. Anyone with a bleed can solo a krayt. Just takes tactics. We just get an "safer way" to solo a krayt in FD. Not faster by any means.
And while a CH has "help" a single person taking out a krayt with the tools at his disposal is still soloing. So yes they can solo it and so can people with AT-ST. Why is it solo with pets? Because there's only 1 human being involved.
AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY DID YOU ALL DRAG THIS POST UP FROM 2 MONTHS AGO?
