just was blindly slicing cdefs by the crate(again thank you quest)and i looked at the slice and i saw 37% encumberance slice.
Sorry, I'm a bit confused... a 37% encumberance slice on a weapon? Are you sure you didn't accidentally do an armour piece amongst your cdefs?
I'd love it if they added the possibility of improving ham costs on weapons as well (just think of all the needless suffering power hammers users could avoid), but I've never seen it happen yet.

yeah encumberance...HAM cost
do it all the time on weapons
am i NOT supposed to be able to slice ham on weapons? if so tell me and ill bug it

ps. just sliced another crate plus of cdefs and i got a 39% damage twice anda 38% speed
pps. dont you have it when you drop a crate with 3 cdefs in your house then go back 3 or 4 days latter and think you have a full crate to slice, such a bummer when you pick it up lol
There is something wrong with it... I dont know if it was already noted. But that screenshot must be WEEKS old...
Notice the Bag of Slicing tools? How much room is used? 50/50!!! And the bag contains only 10 Factory crates...
5 was a OLD value for the volume of a crate... I just thought thats odd
Forget that remark!
Rudd's claims and his screenshot are bogus. Tell me why a master smuggler that has been slicing for so long is still gaining xp for slicing? It's in the screenie. Bogus.

HAM on weaps? fake
39% dmg and 38% speed slice? fake untill proven with a screenshot.
Don't worry Xeth, the guys on drugs apparently. I can't even comment more, too funny.
HAM? Weapons? Hahahahaha....

Hehe, i'm pretty sure I know how he did it..
The algorithms in this game use a fuzzy math system i've found, or an EQ-Resist effect if you will.. People used to complain in EQ, after a server reset, that mobs were resisting their spells more. After the server was up longer and longer, spell resists went down. The result was, after every patch, coupled with a long server reset, people thought resists were nerfed, then after uptime, the resist algorithm eventually degraded back down.. This was eventually found and fixed by SoE after a few years, and indeed, was a math calculation error only a mathmetician would even find.
Now heres what I noticed with SWG.. I was practicing Mask-Scent for a LONG time, and at some point, I noticed it *Never* broke, regardless of the mob I was running past, virtually 100% success.. Then I had to log for a couple hours, so I logged at the spot I was practicing at. 2-3 hours later, I came back, tried the same mask-scent runs on the same mobs, and failed 50-75% of the time! Weird huh? Anyway, I noticed this wierd issue, and decided to keep using Mask-Scent, and after awhile, I was back up to 100% sucess rate on those same mobs. (a couple hours I beleive)
I've been able to duplicate this, 100% of the time, to perfect success...
It gets better.. I noticed, one night, I couldn't tame a Rancor.. I had just logged into the game, and failed 12 times on a trying to Tame a rancor. So I transported to corellia, tamed a dozen or so butterflies, then went back out to the rancors, and tamed 4 of them in roughly 20 minutes time, with max 3 failures on each! More of that fuzzy math at work.
So my theory on how he is doing it, is using the fuzzy math bug in the game.. He is taking a crapload of cheap junk weapons and CDEF garbage, slicing them for a hour or two and stacking on that fuzzy math logic to improve his percentages. Lets look at his hints, and see if it supports what i'm saying..
1) He says one guy is getting close, and points to the guy... The main thing the guy is doing he points to, is slicing a ton of crap....
2) He says hes using nothing special, not drugging up, not eating food, and its nothing to do with his tool.
3) He indicates he has to 'Setup' to slice on a given night. Meaning he probably has to pad up his fuzzy math percentages for a good 2-3 hours before his percentage of high slices goes way up.
Figure probably 99.99% of the people that slice, slice 1-4 weapons and they are done for the night, right? Well, has anyone tried slicing for 2 solid hours, and watching their percentages? I'm betting, they will improve, just like how eventually my taming and mask scent get to nearly 100% perfection on a play session if I use them enough....
Maybe it's because you ALWAYS gain Slicing XP no matter if your Master Smuggler or not.
Do some research before you speak that way you will sound less stupid.
Rudd has proven he has done it, and that still isn't enough for you people.

Slicing XP caps out at 100k. You'll continue to gain XP after you train Slice 4 until you reach this mark, wether you're a Master or not.
Depending on how much slicing you do, it could take you up to a month stop getting XP for slicing.

Just because I haven't heard of it happening before doesn't mean that it shouldn't. As far as I know there's never been a proclamation from the devs that the only options on weapons was damage or speed... that's just derived from countless experimental and anecdotal results. Maybe you're doing something different than the rest of us. Or your character is bugged. Either way, it'd be cool if you could send in a ticket and let us know what they say

umm there is a HAM cost on weapons go look at any one
it adds to your special move cost
say body shot 2 takes 40action to use and you have a weapon with the encumberance cost of 10health 12action 7mind your move will cost
10health 52action 7mind per use
so how is HAM on weapons fake?
plus screenshots can be altered in any photoediting program like pagemaker so even if someone posts a ss with a 40% slice it is not to be 100% trusted, if you dont believe me fine, im not even gunna try to prove it to you, dont matter to me
i just saw the thread had the experience, put a disclaimer(not looking for any extra buisness for this), and posted.
i did this FOR THE COMMUNITY to help us figure out as much as we can about our profession. i believed till i got a over 35% weapon slice that 35 was max
guess its not
we need to dispell false notions no matter how old and proven they have been in the past
maybe i hit i bug or something and thats why ive gotten a few 35%+ slices, i havent gotten alot 3 out of maybe a thousand of soemthing like 0.3% 35%plus slices just saying it did happen

be helpfull not stupid
