I slice a couple hundred items a day.

I guarentee you the max on armor is 45%.

I guarentee you the max on weapons is 35%.

Anyone who says differently is turning this into a pissing contest.

In other words they are absolutely lying. But I mean, who doesn't want to pretend they are the best smuggler. The most l33t! I'm so l33t my slices 0wnzer your slices. Hell throw a 1 into s1ice. Then you're ub3r l33t.

Really though, 36%, 37% - Both are BS. 45% is a blatant lie and this guy's mom should wash his mouth out with soap. This thread shouldn't have gone on to 7 pages long and I never thought I'd see it bumped to the top again after yesterday. Ugh. Show someone something rediculous and they will bite. Hook, line, and sinker.

Oh and 1234Taz, he was lying to you. You should feel cheated, maybe it was a 35% but the guy who told you 37% probably got a 27% and assumed you couldn't do math. Which is rather obvious.

If I cut and paste a 45% slice of armor from a screen shot onto a slice of a cdef pistol and show people that picture telling them that I got a 45% slice on a weapon by cut and pasting the percentage from an armor slice I seriously believe a year from now there will be some people trying to figure out how I got a 45% slice on a weapon. A few of them will be trying to figure out a way to get that extra 2% and find some way to get a 47% slice on a weapon since I managed to get a 45% slice on a cdef pistol by cut and pasting the percentage.

I'm surprised you got a 13% on a slice. Perhaps you are not a Master Smuggler yet?

Definitely not a master yet. I should have put that in my post just to make sure everyoneknew where my expected slice range should be. I'm currently at slice III.

I didn't think I could get 45% like Rudd claims, but logically, if something can consistently give the higher range of the possible percentage for the Master Smuggler, I would think I should also be able to consistently get the higher range of someone at II or III. After the first slice, if materials played a major role in the slice, I would have expected something above 25% for the next two.

Rudd has posted a screenshot of a 40% weapon slice so even if you throw out the claim of 45%, it still looks like a Master could and did hit 40%. If I could find a way to consistently get between 25% and 30% at slice III, I would be happy.

I do have to say that I respect the above poster for admitting(like its his fault) that he got a 13% slice. I honestly don't think many other slicers are as honest as you. I can only think that the people at Sony who actually have access to all the data and record of all the slicers and their slicing percentage must be beside themselves in amusement and contempt for those smugglers/slicers who regularly and continuously fib their slice % to their customers. They must all be enjoying this game as much as the rest of us if not more.

I appreciate the comment. The way I see it, it doesn't really gain anything to decieve. Yeah, there is a short term gain I suppose but as soon as someone decides to get out a calculator, the gig is up.

I would also be curious to see what data SOE has on slices that have taken place since the start of the game.

I have been a master smuggler for around 2 months now andI have sliced a lot of weapons most are high level weapons, krayt and high velocity feed meched weapons, and I can seriously say that the higher the level the lower the slice on the first time I slice a gun at that level. Butwith that being said, I find that my percentages go up for guns underneath i.e a non enhanced gun. I have never seen 45% and personally don't think it is possible, but can 100% say that slicing a higher ql weapon of the same type then returning to a lower lvl of the same weapon improves results. I barely ever slice armor and my slices on armour average about 25% when I do meanwhile with FGW5's, scatter pistols, flamethrowers and particle cannons my slices are almost always between 28-35%.

How many people have beenMaster Smugglers for a month or longer, and have yet to see anything above 35% damage or speed? Only thing that can be said about the 45% slice is that the percentage is in reference to his accuracy because it's some hack novice smugglerwho fails 55% of thetime, or it's someone that got a string of 45% encumbrance slices, and doesn't know that weapons can't hit those numbers. We had some guy on Kauri claiming to get 70% slices. He didn't articulate that he meant his accuracy while using fans was 70%.

Well, I started reading this thread today, and thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. I read Rukk's "hint" and got an idea. I read through the entire thread before posting, thinking someone else would have come up with it, but to no avail. So here is my theory:

Rukk said that we might find the answer if we had a master weaponsmith drop a 1000 CDEFs in a factory and let you slice them all. Everyone on here who mentioned this hint immediately started theorizing about resource quality or "lower tier" weapons.

Did anyone take the Weapon Complexity into account? CDEF pistols have very low complexities. Every time you experiment on a weapon, the complexity goes up by one point. If a WS experiments by 1 point every time, he gets a much higher chance for better quality weapons, but the complexity will go up by 10 points. This extra complexity, or experimentation might be the determining factor.

Has anyone compared factory weapons made both with experimentation, and without? (but otherwise identical resources).

Just my idea. I just started smuggling yesterday, so I'll see what I can find out about slicing techniques. I am intrigued by that Broken Meson something-or-other in his inventory. Never seen one before...

im not a smugler but here is my 2 cents on the whole thing. with old randomize codes as u kept going through the range would decrease on the random number and the higher end numbers would start to be more frequent. so try slicing like 10 cdef first then slice guns. it very well could be the answer to ur question.
