I was master smugler for 3+ months and am a TKM / Master commando / smugler 1,0,1,0 and do PvP some. Never have I nor will I ever use FD in PvP because it is worthless and waists every ones time. I do however use it quite regularly in PvE and it workes like a charm. Only problem was the enemys staying argoed. This "Fix" should fix that while keeping people who are to stuborn to know when they have been beat in PvP from waisting every ones time.
Rag, regarding your comment highlighted in orange: That is NOT true if the enemy deathblows... in that case, you are dead. PVP FD needed fixing. Not PVE FD. One of three working specials has been seriously nerfed in BOTH PVP and PVE... and nothing to make up for it. That is why people are upset.

Seriously...it wasn't meant to be a PvP move anyway. You all need to stop acting like drama queens and focus. Bru is right, no smuggler worth their salt ever used this in PvP anyway. Coming from a fellow smuggler,I really do not appreciate that assumption. I as well as several master smugglers I knowhave used it in PvP.On the server I play on, the only Master Smugglers using FD have used it because they are afraid of dying. And to me, anyone that fears dying in this game (even Jedi) can cry me a river. I'm not pointing the finger at anyone in particular (least of all you, because I do not know you,) but that is my opinion.
Just stop the whining. Just stop. I see many more pissed off people than I see whiners in this thread. I know I'm pissed. But why be pissed when there is no reason to be? Devs lack of communication?I don't know about anyone else, but I'm used to that now.The largest point isn't that they say it was bugged/not working as intended(for two years? yeah right, give me a break).Once again, this was something they mentioned way back (if I'm not mistaken, I could be,) and also mentioned again at Fan Fest (so almost a year ago) that FD wasnever intended to be a PvP move.As I said earlier this wasn't even an issue until the jedi began misusing it.Ah, but it was, Jedi only brought it to prominence in PvP.As a master smuggler who has used this in PvP, no one complains when I do, because I have invested many skill points in a worthless profession, so if I FD and then use FoW to get up, no one complains. Anyone with master smuggler is not much of a PvP threat anyways. So why even bother using FD? Why not go down, guns a'blazing? It's only 22 FP andPvP Ranking. They dropped this on us with no warning whatsoever. They've done it before and they'll continue to do it.There is no needfor everyone to get their panties in a twist because of it. And instead of doing a fix that is fair to all, they nerf it into oblivion.Until I have seen thatyou are able tobe DB'd in PvE by red aggros, I stand beside my statement that, since it was never intended to beused in PvP, I feel they did the right thing. If they killed it in PvE too... I don't know if I can continue to hold onto it. A friend of mine who would have hit two years as a master smuggler in june is throwing in the towel. That's a shame, and I'm sorry for that, but everyone has a different threshold of tolerance.I am unbelievably close to joining him. Not because this is that aggravating of a nerf, but because it shows that the devs have no care or love for smugglers at all. It shows that the devs can and will still do things the community won't know about. That's all it shows. I think they are showing us love by doing this; how? By eliminating dabbler Jedi/FD Smugglers that abuse it. I don't know about you, but nothing angers me more than seeing a Jedi FD...he shouldn't be able to call himself a smuggler, and after this change, they dare not go near our profession. Good riddance to them, and hats off to the developers for fixing a problem that has been in game since launch. Lame that it took them 2 years to fix it, but it's fixed now and everyone needs to get over it. The development community isn't going to share every minute detail about game changes with the community...that's how it's always been, and how it always will be. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way in my posting, but I'm damned happy to see this get nerfed.

The intention is that you can be deathblowedwhile feign-death(ed). If not this is essentially an invuln button for PvP.
This has been a long-standing bug that was fixed because of the impending GCW changes.
So can you please tell us what this ability does then? Does doing a /feignDeath incap you? Can players no longer attack you if you /feignDeath? If you /feignDeath and still have someHAM left,do you "look" incaped or are you unattackable?
Im just trying to see how this ability has any use now.

Ok, FD WAS gamebreaking when it comes to some PvP situations and this move is a very good one. Also I hear smugglers will eventually be able to get bountys also, if FD stayed as it is on live now, what BH is going to waste their time hunting a target that will 100% guarantee FD if they start to loose and be un-killable?
If smugglers really need more escaping powers (as BH need more offensive powers), then they should get terrain negotiation and a bonus to burst run.
Where do you hear this from. We've heard nothing like this. All we've heard is that they are once again sitting down to do preliminary design and work the intention/concept of our profession. AGAIN!
Not to mention the fact that if we ever did get on the terminals, this would be the only thing that could save our behinds since we get no mods, other skills of ours have been nerfed, and we have nothing else that would compare with the firepower a BH was sending at us.

QFE.
and I just love this part:
Smugglers using FD have used it because they are afraid of dying. And to me, anyone that fears dying in this game (even Jedi) can cry me a river.
5 stars for you, you are now my hero.

But I would argue that we SHOULD be afraid of death in this game, and if we WERE a lot of these mechanics that are silly and useless would work a LOT better.
This is NOT about a fear of death, this is about the possibillity of another dead branch in our tree.
5 stars for you. You are now my hero.
