Thread: Why we lost the Battle of the Crackdown

Except they opened the door to my expectations by having these forums at all, by not just listening but INVITING ideas, and commentary and dialogue with the playerbase ie: us.
Also, since the purpose of these forums is to have constructive debates and discussions about the betterment of the game we NEED such information from the developers. Otherwise we're just talking to the wind. Maybe the don't HAVE to give it to us, but it's in their best interest to give us such tidbits when asking for our suggestions.
I couldn't have said it better
you acting like a girl i once had in a psyc class. The teacher was talking about all the most common ailments that humans suffer from like bipolar and depression but when he asked her what they were talking about she screamed out " Your Talking about Me"
My remarks have been focused on the pony crew and they know who they are you are jumping in thinking im talking about you when truth be told I dont know you.
Weather or not you believe me when it comes to working in large scale server enviroments I dont really care what you believe. Im not going to post my resume just so you can feel better about what im saying.
You had some other idea. Please, Admit you didnt have a clue what you where asking for and move on.
Heh - I agree on that too. I'm done on the thread. My main questions about the "presona" of San are never going to be answered by him, and I have no reason to debate technicalities (such as requirements and all - I could come up with the numbers needed if I had an idea of what hardware SOE runs, but I don't really care about that). See you all in other threads ![]()

You think becuase they opened forums so smugglers could discuss there profession
Means that the devs need to give running updates on what they are doing. Thats just assine
and unworth of comment. You most realize this is a place for newbys to get information and for people to
Discuss the game and its bugs and to a certain extent to recommend ideas for improvement. that doesnt mean
They owe you any information on what there future plans are nor does it mean they will give away SOE secrets like how they and on what they run their systems. Have you signed a NDA if not then you most likely will never know any of the things that would give you the information you want.
You had some other idea. Please, Admit you didnt have a clue what you where asking for and move on.
We're getting sidetracked again. And I disagree. I'm not asking for sony secrets. I don't want their design specs or their design doc. But if they want us to actually come up with useful suggestions, guidelines wouldn't hurt.
In FACT, when TH said, "No inventory scans" (right before they initiated inventory scans) someone came up with a way to scan for contraband without scanning the inventory, having to do with faction. I THINK it was Kav, but disremember. There were a LOT of ideas floating around. The point is, they gave us a guideline, and someone came up with a workaround. So simply playing Mr. Scott and saying, "We canno do it, Cap'n! We don't have the power!" isn't really a reason to drop the idea or the dream. In FACT didn't the developers TELL us to come up with ideas on how we could really smuggle? So obviously it's not TOO far gone. They've heard what we really want. They didn't say no. They said, "Tell us about it." And we have. So "really smuggling isn't possible" while valid, may not be ENTIRELY true, as the Dev's asking us for ideas on how to do exactly that seems to suggest that it MIGHT be possible.
I'll come back and continue with this tomorrow with you San. I gotta finish up some work and head home.
It's been nice actually discussing and debating this with you.
Of sub game like Bounty hunter missions the reasons are simple, it has to be something that doesnt overload the systems, and it has to be something that wont piss off the larger player base. This means it has to be somewhat
static and it needs to not limit other players ability to play without to much hassle.
I think that The space expansion will be the perfect time to put in something like this becuase it could include evading space blockades with fancy flying and a good space ship with maybe the risk of a few cops or troopers on the
other end to give it a nice two way danger mix.

Sorry rylux I only argue with smugglers not apprentices. Come back when you have done something.
Hehe, sorry I was actually playing the game when you were argueing with the rest.
I actually was trying to make sure that I wasn't insulting you with the typo. The fact that you took it as an insult really tells me that you would take insult with anyone and anything. If someone doesn't agree with you, then flame them. If someone tries to debate with you, then flame them. If someone does make a mistake, then flame them too because you don't know any different.
And wow, thank you for stepping down. I thought you were supposed to be representing the Smuggling Profession community. Not just the people that you think are worth representing. There are many, MANY fine smugglers that are working their way up the trees right now. You have just insulted not only me, but every single one of them that aren't masters right now.
So I have no right in having an opinion at all? Then you are 100% wrong. Sure I may not have the same experience as a Master Smuggler, but I can still give my ideas and give support to others that have the experience.
Thank you SUN/SON/SAN (see I can do it on purpose too) or whatever it is for stepping down. We will finally have someone who can do the job and represent our community as a whole.
I was taking offense to anyone that would jump into what was started as an inflamatory thread to begin with.
anywhere else I wouldnt have given it a second thought.
