We've got our wish!

  2. The majority of the community wanted more communication from SOE, even if it was acknowledging bugs our giving a small hint of their development schedules. Tiggs has acknowledged bugs and effectively advised that new features will take longer to add to the game while SOEattempt to make sure thatas fewbugs as possible are added to the game with them. We've got our wish!

We don't have our wish.. we wre "promised" something we want. I'll believe it when I actually see it, and you're naive if you think otherwise.

What possible reason could you have for taking SOE on their word after all the lies they've given us about all this?

When publishes start fixing two-year old bugs without ceating new ones, I'll believe it - not a moment sooner.

SOE has no respect for you as customers, never has and likely never will. For them to even think that they do is an insult to our intelligence.

The entire team cares very much about you the customers (Jedi) and the game. The game is constantly evolving and we need to focus our energy on bug fixes andmaking better laser sword animations. That includes the present Jedi in that. We want to have more Jedi for you to play with and I am sure you want that also. With this comes further delaying what has already taken us2 years so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that there won't be changes to professions or other.

Soon!

And I mean that in the SOE sense of the word, that being "sometime after the Smuggler Revamp".

I'd be surprised if Tiggs wasn't too embarrassed to show her face in this thread again - she forgets that Underwold 1 lets Smugglers decipher all languages, including B.S.

I truely am sorry for you guys. It's not fair and totally unacceptable.

The only thing worse than the double-talk is the fact that more than TWO YEARS after launch they are still trying to figure out basic, core gameplay mechanics. What we are seeing, right now, is the continued development of baseline game systems. Please spare me the "MMOGs are always evolving". I know and understand that. What evolves in successful MMOGs is a tweeking or modification of the basic systems in place a launch.. What we have been witnessing for the past two years are major (sometimes bungled) revisions or implimentations of completely new systems. On top of that, the number of bugs implimented with each patch is crazy.

I've finished what I want to do in the game, toon wise, and I have explored everything there is to do with ROTW and find myself twiddling my thumbs again. Games like WoW and EQ2 have added a TON of content since launch, in addition to bug fixes and game tweeks. Here we are, more than two years after launch and the devs are still nailing down the most basic, core systems.

Yeah. Funny how I was just thinking that.I'll amuse myself with some analogies..

Ultima Online was born old (Ahh, old Brittania), and kept getting older until OSI decided to give him a heart attack.
Asheron's Call started out as a child, evolved into a hulking teenager, then stepped into manhood, and finally grew old.

Dark Age of Camelot launched without an arm, but eventually grew into a fully functional man thanks to the Hibernian Prosthetic Limb.

World of Warcraftwent live as ahulking teenager, and is evolving into a muscle-man,Arnold Schwarzenegger style.

Meanwhile, Star Wars Galaxies started out as a premature infant on life support, and only recently started to walk.

Wes, I completely understand how frustrating it might be for Tiggs, but whenever I get done with a post of hers and see her sig, it makes me think "She believes she's blessing us with this knowledge she's passing down" and makes me reread her post with a hostile eye. Her sig just screams "Haha, I'm better than you, so bug off"

Am I the only one that feels this way? Or is her sig just something cute she just made up?

Also, all of us have read posts that are vague or no help at all that Tiggs has made, so whenever we see a Tiggs post we think "yeah yeah, same old stuff". It might not be her fault, but it'd be nice to know she atleast tries to get all the info she can before making a post. Maybe an animated "Don't shoot the Messenger" sig would be more appropriate?

Now, I'm not saying a change in sig is what would make this all better, it just adds to a history of near-meaningless posts that to me is the proverbial straw. I'd like to see that she is fighting to get us the most information possible, and I'm not seeing that in any of her informational posts.

Typical , we ask for some sort of decent communication and all we get is little comments like............

We are currently focusing on fixing what is currently broke. New features will be move out to a longer term implementation.

???????????????????

All the answers we get are all stock out of a copy/paste swg library , no communication at all , I dunno why they feel they have to be so secretive , we're the booldy customers , and I should well imagine none of swgs' competitors wanna know any of thier secrets , I mean , come on , unless they wanna giggle at how far down the shi*tter things have gone .

Dont they get it that if they actually tell thier customers what the score is and whats happening/not happening and the reasons why , we'll get off their backs ,we'll be a bit happier , and they'll be left alone to do thier jobs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , I give up!!!

Lemme translate this:

Okay, we know you smugglers exist, and that is the good news. The bad news is thatthe Jedi that now make up 80% of the playerbase (because all of the other players left). Because of this, we need to MAKE SURE we keep them happy. Secondly, we need to draw in more players with expansions that do nothing to address the near-dead GCW or complete lack of an underworld, yet attract players with a flashy box that says "Episode III" on it. I know you guys and gals aren't happy with this, but I'm gonna have to insert the protocol-determined response at this point designed to keep you from getting into an uproar, protest, or bad-PR-letter-writting mood. I'm sure you're all familiar with it after being told this for the past two years, but I get paid to say this, so here it goes: "We need to ensure that critical fixes go in first and that means that, one, we will push your revamp back and, two, it is necessary to bringing you a HIGH QUALITY revamp." Yea, I know... sounds like BS, but remember that We Care(TM).

The short and sweet of it is that Jedi get all the fixes, the devs are buried up to their ass in the problems the profession is causing the rest of the game (as always), and we have officially been put on the backburner AGAIN.

The producers and devs sure as hell have time to give Jedi a SECOND content systemwhile neglecting to ever even put in a smuggling system or address the extremely excessive overpopulation of Jedi in the GCW, where they are actively destroying the only endgame content of non-Jedi. GREAT DECISIONS!!!

I have a few words for the producers of this game, and I'm sorry the devs have to put up with their bull. We could have all had a TRUE Star Wars game instead of this machine of soulless revenue generation that it is now. What a butchering of the Star Wars story. Non-Jedi are more rare than Jedi in the GCW, the Empire upholds no law, and smugglers are the biggest lie ever told.

And I'll tell you the biggest atrocity of this post. The implication that a new smuggling system will be a "bigger" thing. The new system will have no true laws to break, no true blockades to pass through, and no player bounty hunters. That isn't "BIG". That is a delivery mission with a lame-ass NPC that comes outta nowhere if you fail the mission.

I know exactly where the development time is going. It is going to give Jedi the "BIG" things. The new FRS will be something immensly cooler than any trash we will get. Jedi get the GCW, the fixes, the publishes, the content, the power, the attention, and they will get the development time that we deserve for probably the FIFTH time in a row.

That is where your smuggling is going. Our time has been shredded up over the past couple years, died withthe blood of our smuggling community members who have moved on, andused to weave the red carpet in the House of Jedi.

"Big" What a joke.

Cause most of the dev staff quit or got hired away? Maybe they couldn't stand the total lack of direction and burned out? I'm just speculating here, that's all we're capable of without information.

It would be more fun with the ability to perform one's profession, whatever that profession is. Even Jedi aren't performing their profession. They're supposed to be keepers of the peace, not raging hormonal serial killers.

That isn't done by driving players away.

She's sure from those long hours of reading our posts. I can't tell you how many times I've posted or read how much more fun smuggling would be if there were just more players in the game. Oh wait, yes I can. Zero. If there were supposed to be more customers to interact with, then why are there so many servers?

The ones who want more customers are the people who collect the subscriptions.

There will be changes to professions?
There won't be bigger changes?
Is building an entire profession a bigger change?
Shouldn't smuggler have been in the game before you started marketing it?

Tiggs wrote:

Be honest, SOE, Tiggs, TH, et al. Two years is enough time to design and implement a profession. JTL and RotW should have been a lesser priority than delivering what was advertised.
Yes, I know you (if you talked to us) would say that they're different teams. I don't see that we even have a team working on Smuggler. It seems the only person there with a plan for smuggler just left. If he was the one planning and proposing, then it's obvious that there was no team working on our profession.
