Honestly, this should come as NO surprise to any of you.
SOE has no respect for you as customers, never has and likely never will. For them to even think that they do is an insult to our intelligence.
The entire team cares very much about you the customers and the game. The game is constantly evolving and we need to focus our energy on bug fixes and making the game more fun for a wider audience. That includes the present audience in that. We want to have more players for you to play with and I am sure you want that also. With this comes reducing the scope of our publishes so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that bigger things are pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve.
Tiggs, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ABSOLUTELY disagree with you here.
"pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve"?????????
TWO YEARS HASN'T BEEN ENOUGH?
God, our revamp had better be an entire damned EXPANSION at this rate.
I have wasted TWO YEARS of my life on this game, hoping that SOMEONE over there gave a flying crap about the profession. Sure, SOE and LucasArts respects us as paying customers, but does anyone really respect the people behind the credit card numbers? No.
This game is a poison to the players that pay for it.
Whoever is running the show, and deciding that the third iconic profession in the Original Trilogy isn't important enough to attend to for TWO YEARS is an idiot, and that's an understatement. They've obviously NEVER seen the OT, and never will.
I'm sorry that the almighty dollar has clouded the vision of this game. I highly doubt I'll be around much longer. This kind of "treatment" makes me sick, and rest assured I'd feel the same way if it were a profession like Dancer, or Swordsman.
Mark my words, I am going to write every media outlet, and make sure as many people as possible with a "voice" know of this absolute and rigid backhand to our profession, and the entire SWG community as a whole.

Where did you crawl from, and why haven't you posted so brilliantly more often?????
I've avoided the forums for a long time since I know that the only people that come here are the ones with an axe to grind. I didn't want the despondancy of everyone else tainting my ability to have fun in game. Unfortunately, I'm getting bored in game and have come here to have some fun.
I don't normally make those kinds of posts because I don't like to be that negative. Or at least not negative in that way. I don't mind being negative in a funny way. That post of hers, however, was just grating on my nerves it was so full of holes. I had to respond to it.
If the servers are under populated and they can't get new people by way of having a great game, merge servers. I travelled to every starport and looked around the cities a few nights ago and found 3 ATK people at all but dantooine. I hit roughly 40 player towns that were deserted. Not at 2am or some god forsaken hour, but between 6 and 9pm pacific. With the exception of Dantooine, during that entire 3 hour period I encountered only 10 other ATK players.
Anyway, enough of this rambling, and thanks for the complement.

You must be playing a different game than the one I quit. I remember a great game that was hampered by Developers who ignored the obvious problems, lied and employed familiar delaying tactics. I remember moderators who locked anything that was not overwhelmingly positive, even if it was valid and constructive - if they couldn't find a justifiable reason they'd make one up ("Do not use all caps in the title of your post" /locked).
I remember a game that shipped more copies than it had server capacity - so when all the copies sold out on the first day, they produced 300,000 more copies without enhancing the server infrastructure. I remember lag so bad that the servers would predictably melt down at the same time each morning, and I remember server crahses so frequent that they issued THIRTEEN compensatory days in the first FOUR MONTHS. That means 10% of the time, the servers were unexpectedly down. I remember being unable to log on at all each time a new patch was issued, and above all I remember that I was far from being in the minority on all of this. One need only go to the WoW forums and have a look for themselves.
Now, I'm hardly an SOE fanboy - the Developers and Community Staff here have a lot of shaping up to do - but the post-launch staff at Blizzard must be composed of people who got fired from SOE for gross incompetence.
Did you get your rose-colored glasses in the Collector's Edition?
SOE made fun of this ("Why go to World of Waiting? EQ2 is always ready for adventure!") but they stopped that ad campaign after Blizzard fixed the lag problem on most of their servers. pwned.
That was more of a problem of the guys at Blizzard sorely underestimating just how popular WoW was going to be, and amazingly enough, they didn't lose much momentum even during that fiasco. Hell, how many games ever have to be pulled from the shelves for a few weeks just to contain the popularity? WoW did!
Didn't take 'em long to "fix" imp concussion shot and imp panic shot.

Blizzard knows how the game works. Blizzard has done, and continues to do, what SOE and all it's shatty employees could never do:
1.) AWESOME customer service.
2.) CONTINUOUS feedback to the player base.
3.) EXEMPLARY debugging. A bug pops up, a day or two later (a week, tops!), BAMM! That bish is squashed.
4.) ACTUAL balancing within the game. There are no nerf wars over there. When a class is changed it's changed for the BETTER and you won't see them messing with the same thing over and over again. When they fix it, they FIX IT.
5.) They don't keep innocuous information secret from the public. They TELL YOU what to expect in the future. Not some hair brained ambiguous crap about something no one gives two damns about.
This is what SOE does..
Nerf class A. Now nerf class B to balance out A and B. Now C is too powerful so we nerf it too. But now A is more powerful then C so we nerf A again. However that makes B more powerful then A so now we nerf B. Unfortunately now C is more powerful so we have to nerf C again, which places A back on top and then the WHOLE PROCESS REPEATS ITSELF.
This is what Blizzard does...
They FIX B so it is up to par with A and then leaves C the hell alone. It's amazing how that works, isnt' it?
I can't handle the idiocy which pervades this company anymore. I'm changing my password to something god awful retarded, snapping all my discs in half, burning the manual, removing my email address from the system andplacing SOE on my emails banned list just soI'm never tempted toreturn to this god awful game again.
Not only is the lag completely disproportional to the graphics of this game, but the game mechanics suck, the publishes take forever and a freaking day to come out and when they do come out they pollute an already saturated system with even MORE bugs.
