With this comes reducing the scope of our publishes so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that bigger things are pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve.

Tiggs, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ABSOLUTELY disagree with you here.

"pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve"?????????

TWO YEARS HASN'T BEEN ENOUGH?

God, our revamp had better be an entire damned EXPANSION at this rate.

I have wasted TWO YEARS of my life on this game, hoping that SOMEONE over there gave a flying crap about the profession. Sure, SOE and LucasArts respects us as paying customers, but does anyone really respect the people behind the credit card numbers? No.

This game is a poison to the players that pay for it.

Whoever is running the show, and deciding that the third iconic profession in the Original Trilogy isn't important enough to attend to for TWO YEARS is an idiot, and that's an understatement. They've obviously NEVER seen the OT, and never will.

I'm sorry that the almighty dollar has clouded the vision of this game. I highly doubt I'll be around much longer. This kind of "treatment" makes me sick, and rest assured I'd feel the same way if it were a profession like Dancer, or Swordsman.

Mark my words, I am going to write every media outlet, and make sure as many people as possible with a "voice" know of this absolute and rigid backhand to our profession, and the entire SWG community as a whole.

totally agree. the powers that be could care less about the swg's community....they care about 1 thing..the dollar, its so painfully obvious.. they don't even care about the game, I think the original team did..but its obvious now its all about making money; it's obvious by the direction they've continuously taken. smuggler loving is pushed back a bit? kinda like the almighty combat revamp?reminds me of pike pre-cu...constantly indirectly nerfed, with nothing to raise them back up, and being called balanced (orreally "we'll give you some loving...sometime in the future.")They ruin profession after profession as we play along. So we get this large CU..and you know what, they're doing it AGAIN. I liked the CU...loved it even. But they've nerfed everyone BUT the jedi..to make the jedi last longer. (why do jedi need cloak, or avoid incap? and why is there no balance against those skills, like every other game does?)

The swg game, as it came out...was working more closesly to "as intended" as it is now. I used to think I have bad luck, as I have hopped from one weaker profession to the other (pistoleer, ch, pike pre cu)...then after CU came out, I found the smuggler/pistols/commando combo...and was Effective in combat. Not 1 on 1, but in groups I could definatly alter the battle. Jedi whined because they couldn't kill nonjedi en large masses, although small masses were still possible...now concussion is near useless in pvp, we're left with one root with a horrendous timer, smugglers had their lowblow kd ninja-nerfed, commando weapons STILL are bugged (where's the bug fixes there?) We don't want EQ2...I tried it, as have many many. It lacks the depth that swg has, yet the devs seem to be taking us there. dumbing down certain things, removing others (complete professions).

bug fixes? you mean making sure jedi/bh are working as (the jedi's) intended. all other people can sit and wait...whats funny is you're even nerfing bh so the jedi have easier time. As it is...you have to have jedi's in order to win group-battles....right after the CU came out, it wasn't so...but the devs soon changed it.

face it, the entire team does not care about all their customers, and frankly I don't mind. But I want things to be balanced...including the jedi. Lets try to have just 3 patches that do not give ANY benefits to jedi. Can it be done? I may not be a corellian, but even I don't need to know the odds to know if that'd happen.

The entire team cares very much about you supportingthe jedi customers and their game.

I've avoided the forums for a long time since I know that the only people that come here are the ones with an axe to grind. I didn't want the despondancy of everyone else tainting my ability to have fun in game. Unfortunately, I'm getting bored in game and have come here to have some fun.

I don't normally make those kinds of posts because I don't like to be that negative. Or at least not negative in that way. I don't mind being negative in a funny way. That post of hers, however, was just grating on my nerves it was so full of holes. I had to respond to it.

If the servers are under populated and they can't get new people by way of having a great game, merge servers. I travelled to every starport and looked around the cities a few nights ago and found 3 ATK people at all but dantooine. I hit roughly 40 player towns that were deserted. Not at 2am or some god forsaken hour, but between 6 and 9pm pacific. With the exception of Dantooine, during that entire 3 hour period I encountered only 10 other ATK players.

Anyway, enough of this rambling, and thanks for the complement.

Have to admit I am ALMOST in agreement with Wes, All I have been asking for these past several days is just some kind of Acknowledgement that we still exist. Well we got that, So for tht part Thank you Tiggs, I appreciate you coming in here and admitting the profession is still alive. Now, The response you gave was PISSPOOR to say the least. You aren't saying we are or AREN"T postponed, but you are saying that NOONE is going to do ANYTHING for the smuggler profession whatsoever for HOWLONG? Another 2 years to wait until the entire company crumbles around us because of all the lost revenue, and accounts due to being treated like crap? I almost WELCOME that.

Veela!!! Applauds to you!, That was the best post I've seen so far on here. We may not be able to actually do ANYTHING but gripe complain and fuss over this kind of treatment, maybe all we can do is write letters to magazines to show how your company treats its paying customers SOE, maybe the worst we can do is quit playing and cancel our accounts. What do you care? You will just go ut and try to recruit more of the uberleet Jedi to take the place of the rest of playerbase. Oh wait, You are already doing that NOW! In 2 years I can count on 1 hand the amount of hotfixes and publishes that did not contain the words JEDI in them. No new content huh? wow, and yet Valarians quest isnt considered new content? in what sense of the word NEW doyou mean? If possible, can someone post, or make a separate thread on Who we can contact at SOE itself besides CS? Those guys dont give a rat's ARSE anyways. So, who can we contact about complaints?

Smuggling: The act of covertly moving goods/services without detection from one location to another.

Broken Smuggler: See SOE's version of Smuggler in SWG.

Way to fix smuggler: GET your heads OUT of your 4corner Contacts and add in the Supposedly Almost complete" revamp we were promised 2 years ago?

RIGHT uh huh im sure its gonna happen, right about the time we have someone walking around on Mars.

Lets see what ya got Tiggs, and TH, prove ALL of us wrong, show us ALLL how much you "Care" about us. With caring like we have gotten so far, SOE is a big cellmate wanting to show us love. that is BubbaSOE.

You must be playing a different game than the one I quit. I remember a great game that was hampered by Developers who ignored the obvious problems, lied and employed familiar delaying tactics. I remember moderators who locked anything that was not overwhelmingly positive, even if it was valid and constructive - if they couldn't find a justifiable reason they'd make one up ("Do not use all caps in the title of your post" /locked).

I remember a game that shipped more copies than it had server capacity - so when all the copies sold out on the first day, they produced 300,000 more copies without enhancing the server infrastructure. I remember lag so bad that the servers would predictably melt down at the same time each morning, and I remember server crahses so frequent that they issued THIRTEEN compensatory days in the first FOUR MONTHS. That means 10% of the time, the servers were unexpectedly down. I remember being unable to log on at all each time a new patch was issued, and above all I remember that I was far from being in the minority on all of this. One need only go to the WoW forums and have a look for themselves.

Now, I'm hardly an SOE fanboy - the Developers and Community Staff here have a lot of shaping up to do - but the post-launch staff at Blizzard must be composed of people who got fired from SOE for gross incompetence.

SOE made fun of this ("Why go to World of Waiting? EQ2 is always ready for adventure!") but they stopped that ad campaign after Blizzard fixed the lag problem on most of their servers. pwned.

That was more of a problem of the guys at Blizzard sorely underestimating just how popular WoW was going to be, and amazingly enough, they didn't lose much momentum even during that fiasco. Hell, how many games ever have to be pulled from the shelves for a few weeks just to contain the popularity? WoW did!

Blizzard knows how the game works. Blizzard has done, and continues to do, what SOE and all it's shatty employees could never do:

1.) AWESOME customer service.

2.) CONTINUOUS feedback to the player base.

3.) EXEMPLARY debugging. A bug pops up, a day or two later (a week, tops!), BAMM! That bish is squashed.

4.) ACTUAL balancing within the game. There are no nerf wars over there. When a class is changed it's changed for the BETTER and you won't see them messing with the same thing over and over again. When they fix it, they FIX IT.

5.) They don't keep innocuous information secret from the public. They TELL YOU what to expect in the future. Not some hair brained ambiguous crap about something no one gives two damns about.

This is what SOE does..

Nerf class A. Now nerf class B to balance out A and B. Now C is too powerful so we nerf it too. But now A is more powerful then C so we nerf A again. However that makes B more powerful then A so now we nerf B. Unfortunately now C is more powerful so we have to nerf C again, which places A back on top and then the WHOLE PROCESS REPEATS ITSELF.

This is what Blizzard does...

They FIX B so it is up to par with A and then leaves C the hell alone. It's amazing how that works, isnt' it?

I can't handle the idiocy which pervades this company anymore. I'm changing my password to something god awful retarded, snapping all my discs in half, burning the manual, removing my email address from the system andplacing SOE on my emails banned list just soI'm never tempted toreturn to this god awful game again.

Not only is the lag completely disproportional to the graphics of this game, but the game mechanics suck, the publishes take forever and a freaking day to come out and when they do come out they pollute an already saturated system with even MORE bugs.

I'm sorry - anyone who buys that line is naive. Blizzard made 300,000 copies, they ought to have expected to have that many players. Companies don't make product they don't intend to sell. At any rate, if the unexpected response was an issue, why did they ship another 300,000 copies before they decided to suspend further production?

And if it was a case of unexpected response... that also means unexpected income - which should have been used to improve the server infrastructure. But they were clearly pinching pennies. Adding more servers didn't solve the problem, so that excuse was gone.
