So you know, curb testers know nothing about feign death as it stands. I've pushed for information from the beginning and haven't received a shred. We had a problem on a global scale that had to be resolved. This was a simpler change than reworking the whole skill. The reworking should and hopefully is taking place in the CURB. I don't like it anymore than you folks do but that's where I am going to spend my energy in making this a better game.

I see what you're saying Caylin, but we do keep regrouping and we do keep losing. CURB or not, it changes nothing in the track record of how this profession has been treated. I know you know this, just stating it for everyone else.
We've waited for the revamp only to wait for the CURB.
Now it's wait for the CURB, which is starting to get as delayed as the revamp, but while you're waiting take it up the XXX a little more.
Sorry, but it really isn't acceptable.
This wasn't our problem. It was a problem created by the use of our skills by another profession. Maybe they should have looked at those professions instead of ours for a change.

I don't think it's acceptable either. Do what you have to do. I will do what I feel I have to do. I'm no longer the correspondent, so thankfully I can focus on one area where I think my abilities will do the most good for our profession.

Yeah I guess that since now we can be DBed when Feigned the mob won't be fooled and will DB eh?
So basically FD is now only useful in a case where you are hunting mobs that don't DB. That's reducing a LOT the usefullness of the skill.

Wow, everyone always takes these things the wrong way. He was talking about PVP when he said you were meant to be able to be deathblowed while FD. Not PVE. Sheesh.

And you think the skill will work differently in PvE? I don't think so. Mind you, I could be wrong, I sure hope so in fact.

Wouldn't an even simpler resolution be to move it to master to prevent the dabblers and Jedi misuse?

One more note, FD was never an I win button. It was a nobody wins button. Now it's an I lose button.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Lets see:

1. HAVE to choose a side inGCW or 1/4:th of the skill tree is useless (does any other profession require this?)

2. Spices made uselsss when chef food was revamped

3. Auto-pullings was messed up making a rather boring procedure (slicing) even worse

4. Panic shot nerfed

5. FD nerfed

Yup,I think that covers it, the profession is now completly useless. Truly, i want to be con structive, but as a smuggler whats the point? It is obvious this profession was not to be, and soon wont be. I belive you can now officialy rename it Slicer-profession becuase that is all we are now.

feign needs a way to be broken in pvp, if this doesnt do it, then its pointless but it doesnt destroy the usefulness of feign in pve. yes creatures aggro you when you get up from feign but tell me how is this really different than it is now? creatures wont attack you while you arefeigned on the ground so you will not be incapped when successfully feigned. you get up, you attempt to get away, you feign again if you have to. thats how the system is now and thats how the system is going to remainsince creatures wont go over to your bodyto incap you when you are feigned.andif you get up and you get aggroed and fail to feign and become incapped, well thats no different than how it is today. if they incap you, the ones that db, db you ahead of time so theres no triple incap. normal creatures, if they incap you they tend to leave you alone and let you walk away unless you put a dot on them, but again the likelihood of being triple incapped by them is low.

anyway i was on test center and i couldnt get any of the bull rancors i was fighting to incap me while i was feigned. they just simply stood around as normal. even with dots on them they didnt attack me when i was feigned which is what i thought would do it. i guess ill go test on ns now then players later on.

I have to Say that moving the Skill to Master would solve most of the abuse issues without punishing an entire community that WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the abuse. Make the option unavailable to Jedi... Do something ... but to Punish a profession that was once one of the most popular in the game frustrates me beyond words! Broken promise after Borken promise... nerf after nerf.... And wonder why so many are upset and this has gone 6 pages in a short amount of time

A) Creatures SHOULDN'T Aggro me from 2 KILOMETERS AWAY OR FRICKIN' MORE BECAUSE I FEIGNED! That's first and foremost. That was ALWAYS a stupid move.

B) If CREATURES can incap me while I'm feigned, and I haven't seen anything that says they can't yet, then it removes the purpose of feigning death.

Yes, but this makes it useless in PvE since we'll get incapped three times by bloodthirsty mobs....

There are many many suggestions that would have solved all this that were a lot better...why choose this?

Something had to be done. Let's fall back, reorganize and focus on the CURB and push for the fundamental change the skill deserves.

Can we PLEASE get confirmation on whether this affects PVE? Or Caylin, does your response here mean that it DOES affect one of our three working combat moves in both PVP and PVE? That after we hit feign death while fighting off a mob, the mob can incapacitate us? (Gee. I think I'll lie down so that this quenker can kick the stuffin out of me.) They remain aggroed already, even after we FD. So we get up, get beat up, FD and get incapped again? Then a third time and boom we are dead?

How can ayoung Smuggler get all the pistol XP he or she needs (for two of our four branches) without FD functioning as it has in PVE? It was already nerfed once in PVE. Used to be the mob lost its aggro on you.

I agree something needed to be done about FD in PVP. No doubt about it. Especially with regard to the BH/Jedi mission situation.

But once again, we have a perfect example of SOE's lack of communication with the Smuggler community. Make a drastic change that will affect Smugglers, and not even mention it before it hits Test Center (and as in the case of the Spice Downer Nerf -- never admit there WAS a nerf, don't put it in the patch notes and never explain it to those it affected! Grrr... ) This just keeps happening. You'd think I could take it in stride by now.

I try to be moderate on the forums, but it gets difficult sometimes under these conditions. They could have prevented a lot of smuggler anger (regarding this continued pattern of non-communication) by telling us they planned to "fix" this, and what the fix would be. Sure, people would have complained, but they couldn't havecomplained about non-communication,as I am here.

And waiting for the combatupbalanceregrade (which we might be lucky enough to see this summer) for some kind of compensatory redesign of FD -- which was one of our our three working specials -- just... ugh.

So far I believe we have been nerfed the most.

i'm sorry but that will always go to CH. CH was by FAR the was the profession that was hit hardest with a nerf bat. CH went from being a fun and a great profession to being a worthless amounts of skill points and is jsut there for people who just for the hell of it want to keep the pets and not be of any use in PvP or PvE any more.

and why is everyoen saying this skill will suck in PvE now?? it wont cuz the mobs will de-aggro you when you go into FD. only thing this is affecting is PvP which was being abbused by to many non smugglers. and it is ad to see yes but something had to be done about it.

maybe instead change it that you are invulnerable for like 2 minutes or so and after that you are open for attack to get inncapped and DB. then also have liek a 1min timer on FD for you to be able to use it again. and when you go up the tree of dirty fighting make it so the timer for how long you can stay in FD as invuln to 3-4min and reduce the timer to like 30s inbetween FD.

I don't seem to understand the reason for making the smuggler profession weaker since it seems that the reason FD got the nerf was due to jedi and BH. It could have been moved to master or given a heads up that this change was coming down. At this point, I'm not saying anything that hasn't been stated before by other, more experienced smugglers.
