Where doed the CEC mining mission begin? I can't find a vendor with the mining equipment so I figured I might as well quest for it.

yeah, i was pretty suprised when i did it too, i was hoping for something...uh... 'capacitor' sized to add to my decorations in my shipwright shop. yeah. that didn't work.
tried also moving it up to the ceiling, hoping i could create a 'cavern' like ceiling, but it wouldn't go up (much) farther than the top of the asteroid hitting the interior ceiling, so that was out also. I *could* move it into a wall pretty far (at least it seemed I could, it was so large I had problems telling sometimes heh), so in a guild hall they might work to get interesting textures on the walls.

If memory serves me you get a better price at stations in space systems that cannot mine the said asteroid. Can't recall the differences but I'm pretty sure that was how they price ranged it.

Yes, I am a fan of the show.
If you see me in game and I'm in a fighter it will almost always be called "Starbug", and my Y-8 is called "JMC Red Dwarf"

Talk to Flash Harrison on Kashyyyk. He's in the main city, in the great tree, second level cantina. He'll send you to Thom Steele in the cantina in Dearic, Talus.

I'm having a real problem with one of the mining missions.
It's the one where you're supposed to escort the Y-8's in Kashyykian space. I get the mission from the Cap'n, launch into space...and get NOWHERE because I'm not given a waypoint or a specific area in Kashyykian space to search.
Does anyone know where I'm supposed to go for this? Or any workarounds for this problem? I've deleted the mission and re-acquired it only to get the same issue.

While in space, go into your Options, select the Controls section. On the bottom left there will be a "Keymap" button. Click it, then go to the "Space" tab and scroll down to Toggle Tractor Beam. You may have to juggle several key-mappings in order to get it setup the way you want it, but it's worth it to get a configuration you're comfortable with.

As I recall you're supposed to wait for the Y-8 convoy to hyper in to Kashyyyk. Then you have to /comm one of the ships when you are ready to start the convoy.
