< so perhaps all crafters shoudl loose thier factories based on your logic... >
No.
most other crafting professions require "x Identical whatever" to make an item.
So they *need* factories.
You, however, *want* a factory, as you can produce everything without one.
Learn the difference between 'want' and 'need'.
And SWs can operate fine without factorie. Take 10 minutes, make 20-30 components. Go do something else.
Repeat everyso often.
I currently have vendors with over 2200 items (no SW stuff yet), the vast majority of which is hand-crafted.
Hand-crafting doesn't add cost to an item.
In fact, factories add cost to an item:
Power costs
Upkeep Costs
Loss of Resources making a Factory Schem.

well if u have 2200 items im damn impressed. i havent made 2200 items as a master in either beta or live.
unless u are using compoents from you grind. im selling mine as a master, not as anything else.
i have made approximatly 400 items including blueprints since launch and have sold out 3 times so far. my right hand hurts from making so many items.
i dont know about you and your abilities ont he keyboard, but i personally cannot make 20 items in 10 mins, and still do experimentaion. that wodul be 30 seconds per item which for me, including experimentation, is impossible. for me its about 2 mins per item as i experiment 3 points at a time to get maximum effect. 2 mins X 20 items = 40 mins.

we dotn get factories except for sub compoents.
does anyone know if factories can be used to make missiles and chaff ammo in crates?

the subcomponents CAN be made using equpment factories.
Well those factories won't take schematics for paint or texture kits, which I think should be able to be produced in bulk (especially since you can make a schematic for them).

Now why in the world would someone want to make 500 light blasters!? Why not make 10 of them, and move on? DOnt forget, the idea of no factories is to have MANY more SW out there. No one will be expected or required to supply the entire server with light blasters! If each Shipwright sets their sights on a realistic goal in terms of how many people they can serve. The rest will go seeking out other SW. There should be no reason why a very few SW should be serving the whole server.

I did say *non*-SW stuff.
However, I've been a Master Weaponsmith for about5 months now. And I'm down to 2200. I'm usually in the 2500+ mark. And the majority of my stuff is handcrafted.

Fair enough.
30 seconds per item is pretty stanard as far as I'm concerned.
You know that the Return key will do:
Next
Experiment
Run Experiment
End Experiment (when you're out of points)
Create Prototype
Create Object
?
So you don't need to click any 'buttons' with the mouse, unless you're creating a schematic?
I mean, if you're looking to create a bunch of *different* items, then yeah, I can see it taking 2 min per item as you decide where each point is going, and weigh the pros/cons of each spot.
But if you're making 10-40 of something it's just click-enter-click-enter-click-enter and so on. The only delay is the loading time for the interface. *shrug*

Second day being master....
I have more looted components coming in, than componentsI can make. I recieved over 150 looted items today alone... What this is telling me is that those "better" looted components will be more abundant then crafted ones...
Of course this is just the second day and everyone under the Tat sun is trying to get a piece of me, but this just further confirms that we need factory support for everything but the chassis. For every chassis I make, I have to craft 7-8 parts for it.
One last time.... Without factory support, crafted components will be more rare that looted ones.

How many of them were comparable to what you can make?

< I am having a hard time keeping up with the demand for low level components. >
Demand for these will drop steadily over the next couple of weeks.
Secondly, why are you required to keep up with them?
You are *not* the only SW around.
Make some stuff of the higher marks, now (if you can), so there is *always* stock on your vendor. If you just keep up with the low stuff, people will begin to assume that's all you do.
Then, set yourself a target, such as: 20 Light Blasters.
And just maintain *that* stock level.
Once you run out of those, people will see you have the higher stuff, and will come back to your shop when they're done with the lower stuff.

of the loot items i got only 3 were better then what i coudl make, and they were 2 wep caps and 1 engine. no reactors, shield,s armor, guns or anythgin else could match what i was making.

Ok this is just nuts. I just cant craft stuff fast enough.
There is a line of people in my house waiting for the tools to cough out the goods
Please reconsider Factories.

im having the same issue.
finally i just said screw it. ill restock in the morning and at lunch while im eating. that will have to be good enough. i plant ot fly at night. sorry folks.
i see their point tho. they want everyone to get a peice. when they find my vendors empty they will come to someone elses. no one is gonna take over the world with this profession.
instead of a couple "walmart superstore" of ship vendors, we will all have little "bobs corner grocerie" of ship vendors.
it has pluses and minuses, and i can see both.
but my fricken arm is killing me, and thats a fact.
