- If you don't like the price shop around
- If you find a better price buy it there
- If you can't find a better price buy the one found
- If the price is too high the shipwright won't sell it
- If the shipwright doesn't sell it the price will lower
- Goto 1

Ummm lets see here... average grind resource is now going for 5 cpuish. Shipwright = 6 millionresources just to hit master. 30 million credits of resources for us just to be able to make your crappy tie bomber. So i guess its greedy of us to ask a price, but its perfectly non-greedy of you to demand we lower them?

Sometimes I think the non-crafting community expects crafters to be compliant NPCs. They want their toys, they want it now, they want it given to them for nothing, and they don't want to hear about our problems. If we don't provide them what they want at that moment they throw a tantrum and rant at us.
I think this describes some players to a tee. They apply that thinking to all other players in the game (e.g., docs, entertainers).
OTOH there are players who understand both the economic and social aspects of the crafting profession and are a joy to deal with.
I make my life easier by just considering that first group not in my customer base, so I don't even worry about their whines.

I would love to make a ship for free if somebody brought me the resources. I didn't have enough money to buy the several million resources so I'm at 2222 shipwright. I'm harvesting steel, and buying most of the other stuff, but I can still only make 3-4 chassis per day most days. I'd rather make and sell all components, but you can't progress in expon that kind of stuff.

Some decent steel came up on my server. I do have bunch of harvs on it
.
Stats are:
Cold Resistance- 749
Conductivity- 635
Decay Resistance- 950
Heat Resistance- 999
Malleability- 378
Overall Quality- 811
Shock Resistance- 952
Unit Toughness- 959
However, I just saw yesterday someone auctioning 500K of it. 7CPU start with 14CPU buyout.
Now, why should I sell components/chassis using this for less than what people are paying for the resource itself?

Here's the deal:
These things 60,000 units of various materials. Mostly steel and ore. In case you haven't noticed steel and ore have become less abundant, as most shipwrights burnt through about 5million units of the stuff grinding up.
If you want the best mass, you need the best quality. And that's expensive. It's not like houses where 1OQ ore and steel was just as good as 1000.
Just wait until the Tie Opressor that uses 150k units...

Heh, I got another one for ya's...had a player ask me this morning why my X-wings were 300k when such and such was selling them for 200k. Since the other shop was fairly near my current location, I took a swing by there to look for myself, sure enough, 200k. Mass 98k. Calmly informed him that my X-wings had appx 101k mass, a much better quality. He told me in rather crude terms that that kind of thing didn't matter.
Damn I wish I was an Imp so I could shoot 'em down :-p

Well I AM a Master Shipwrite, and I'll say it. Yer all flippin' crazy! 500K for a bomber IS rediculous. I am on Kettemoor, and I charge 5cpu plus 50% of the total resource value for anything I make. For a bomber that would be 375K (I actually round it down to 350K). And I am making tons of credits, AND I am one of the most reasonably priced dealers on the market. I've seen people trying to sell X-wings for 1 mil, Interceptors for 700K, and YT-1300s for 3 mil. So don't jump all over this poor schmuck for complaining about what he feels are outrageous prices, and try to look at it from the consumer's point of view.

Whoa! I must be crazy to charge 8.33cpu for a chassi when you only charge 6.25cpu...stop the presses! The sky is falling!
Oh wait, I have bombers on my vendor for 240k, or only 4cpu. YOU MUST BE THE CRAZY ONE you Master ShipWRITE-type-person. Okilly Dohkilly

I love threads like this....flames, but not PvP-style flaming. They are a perfect diversionfrom a hard day at work. Thanks for the laughs Dread!

I sell my Tie Bombers for 250k and My Master ships for 750k and I lose my butt, i make money off components.I agree with the intinal reason blaming the Resource sellers. Think about it this way. You want to make a Master level ship.that takes 70k of steel. a 60k block and a 10k block. So If you have 100k of steel you can make 1 Master Level Ship. Steel is going for AT LEAST 10cpu on Gorath so 70k * 10= 700k Not to mention the other 80k of resources. And none of those go for below 3 cpu. So5 * 80=400k . So if you are lucky enough to get all but the steel at5 cpu and the steel at 10cpu the ship costs you 1100000k to make it. So stop your complaining.
If you want to complaiun about pricing, complain about the people charging 150k for an experimental blaster, or Starship Paint kits for 5000 (only 550 units of resources in those)

Im SOOOOOOO sick of people complaining about the prices of ships..
You buy a suit of composite and a crate of brandy,,,.,thats a half million and takes 1/30th the resources that a ship costs..You go pay 15k for buffs, tip dancers, or those of you that arent cheap bastards.
You dont like it DONT BUY IT,, fly your little light duty tie and fight low lvl ships..No one says you have to have to fly anything else. I just started on a new server, i wanted to make a storm trooper. Well in did butterfly missions tio afford my first set of buffs, Since then i havent done a mission, and have made over 300k.in the ground, and thats not through missions,. its also been about 8 hours of play,Ive been doing space missions also in my light duty tie and kick ass,.. Ive made about200k in that in ohh 5 hours tops.. the ship is free soo dont give me this crap. that ship wrights are raking people. Fly yourlight duty TIE and have fun and stop complaining.
Soo far on my main server that i am a ship wright i have lost 20+ million on this venture and ive had it with listening to little whiners complain about the pirces of ships. Why dont you just spend the next 3 months getting the stuff together and be a shipwright, ill be gald to come to you and cry that i want a tie bomber fully loaded and you can give it to me for 15k, the cost of a F%^king set of buffs

Redirect,
I hear ya. You want a product in the game and you want it the best quality possible for a minimum price. After paying 300k-500k for a great set of composit armor (130-220cpu), 150k for a crate of brandy (60 cpu?), 40k for a T21 (46 cpu), etc. you don't want to get ripped off paying 8 cpu for your TIE Bomber Starship! So to bypass those greedy shipwrights you will need to gather the following stacks of resources:
Steel - 24K
Low Grade Ore - 12k
Aluminum - 6k
Inert Petro - 6k
Iron - 6k
Fiberplast - 6k
Can we please, please, pleasesticky this reply and title it "Before you complain about prices..."![]()
