Thread: Ship pricing
You can still make 500 k something per hour doing missions. Not to speak about the crafter with the hugh bank accounts I got my char up to 20 mill doing missions (some nice loot). So I don't think asking 1-5 mill for a complete schip is to much. For CPU pricing of components I'll go for 15-25 depending on the resource used and the time spent crafting. For chassis that's the same if made with high end resources if quality doesn't matter to the consumer I'll go arround 5cpu like most people indicate.

Shipwright, just like all crafting professions, deserves to have a viable, long term, profitable business, but please, dont take it too far. Its understandable that you have a zeal for your profession, but the pricing scheme I have seen some Shipwrights putting out there is just ridiculous.
Ive come back to the game for JTL, and my old character was deleted. Although it's been fun being a "noob" again, Ill never be able to afford a ship if 6 mil for a tier two becomes the norm. Not everyone wants to pick the FOTM template and grind janta missions on Dantooine for 5 hours a day, in fact I would probably commit suicide if I even attempted it, grinding missions is one of the most horrifingly boring things to do in SWG, and for those of us that do not posses the mentality capable of constant grinding, making such large amounts of cash is next to impossible.
As I say, you deserve a viable profession, but please dont price to the top 20% of your server, that just leaves the rest of us out in the cold.

I'm not in shipwright for the credits, tinkering with cars or ships, I like the "tuning" aspect of shipwright and will not be looking to be the most distiguished or richest shipwright in the galaxy, just having fun and selling HQ stuff that everyone can afford. I didn't collect resources for months to be rich... I could be rich if I just kept all thecredits and time I spent collection those resources : )
Oh, really?
Well, I'm a noob player, and I can afford a whopping 250 credits, because that's what they gave me. Please give me the WP for your vendor where I can buy a ship (and you should probably throw in an engine, while you're at it) for my 250 credits.
Sound ridiculous to you to? Well, that's what I thought when I saw it. Try this on for size, why don't you?
I'm a player who's managed to master an elite combat profession. I can spend 12k to buff out all my stats for a money session. In that time frame with a solo group, I can make $300k to $900k (depending on my profession). And I'm going to complain that you're ripping me off because you want to charge me $150k for a Tier 2 ship. It comes to 90 minutes of my time to EARN the thing, or even 30 minutes if I'm an uber combatant... and you're the one ripping me off.
Geez, Louise, folks. They're paying 1 million credits for a freakin' tube of glue!!! They can afford 6 figures for a STARSHIP!!!

I think SW should try to sell for as little as they can. I'm grinding SW right now and I think we should try to help space get populated

5 stars for you! That's an awesome way to put it into perspective.
Thank you. ![]()
In my experience, it's usually the power gamers who could most afford it that complain the most about the prices. (From other crafter professions... too soon to tell for SW.) There are players that I *know* have 6 million or more in their accounts that are complaining about 6k for a blueprint.
Who the hell is "they"? I sure as hell cant afford 1 million credits for a tube of glue, hell I dont even have 100k, let alone 1 mil. Nobody I know would have an issue with 6 figures for a ship, but its not 6 figures for a ship, its 6 figures for a blueprint, which we then have to have turned into a chassis(another 6 figures) and equip(another 6, perhaps 7 figures).
500k for a ship I can fly? =
500k for a blueprint I have to spend another 1 mil to fly? =

This is the exact same pricing that I have been using although I am not totally set on it yet. I was wondering what other people think about these pricing guidelines. Many people have complained that 50k is too much to pay for a newbie chassis. So I just lowered my price to 30k for tier 1 blueprints, 100k for tier 2 blueprints but again I am not set on this price yet either. While I find it perfectly acceptable to charge 50k for tier 1 and 150k for tier 2 blueprints, many people seem to object to that. I think most people don't seem to realize/care that a tier 2 blueprint requires like 15000 resources. I think that a tier 1 blueprint should cost more than a damn speeder bike, but what do I know? I AM set on 20cpu for components though. unless I really can't sell anything my component price will remain at that level. I don't think 4000 credits is unreasonable for mk1 components.
