Hate to whine (and sorry but not about the current changes) but any idea when ship vendors might be listable on the planetary map?

While higher ship masses for freelance ships was indeed needed, you have simply screwed every shipwright who has stocked vendors with chassis. I have 7 Rihkxyrk chassis on my vendor that are now completely useless. Do you ever think before making such changes??

I completely agree. All of the engines and all chassis that I have on my vendor are now useless. All the resources used (which are getting more and more expensive) are now gone. There has to be a simple metric you guys can use to change all the old items. Even if i have to take each one off my vendor and put back on, at least I'm not out millions....

Engines: YPR is still too low (mod 50's vs 65+ on good loot) can we combine experiment points on YPR as ONE item?

Capacitors: to get a reasonable recharge rate (mid-30's) out of a Mark IV, you end up with about 500 capacity.

PE on steel is still in the schematics. I thought you removed that requirement?

NPCs buing looted components. Make them buy RE only OR lower the price they pay.

I have an odd feeling that this sort of stuff is going to end up working both ways...

In the event that, say, the Dunelizard gets bumped back down in mass so the sluggish ixiyen can compete with it, the present stats will persist on already-built ships.

Crafted engines got a decent boost, which I'm happy about.

Still needs a little more tweaking, though. Here's an example. I just crafted a Mark V engine, using pretty much the highest quality components that have ever spawned on Chilastra. The ONLY low quality thing was the Shipwright-Specific Siliclastic Ore used in the Engine Overdriver.

If I put most of my points into max speed, I got:

Yaw: 55.0

Pitch: 55.0

Roll: 51.0

Speed: 103.6

If I put points into Yaw/Pitch/roll, I got:

Yaw 60.0

Pitch 60.1

Roll: 53.0

Speed 87.5

Now, let me compare that to a LOOTED level 6 Engine:

Yaw: 67.0

Pitch: 67.0

Roll: 67.0

Speed: 103.9

Something wrong. Either we need a boost again (boost the YPR base values to 58.0 in this scenario would be perfect), or the loot stuff needs to be MAJORLY lowered in effectiveness. I could see a Level 10 looted component having those values, but a level 6? I can't compete.

Well, you can always sell them for 1/3 less.

Part of me says you should have been watching the boards on this, the other part wants the trade up as well.

I watch the boards all the time. They were all crafted before they made the announcements. Yes, I have put them up for a lower price now. I doubt they will sell though. People tend to always want the best.

It is an MMO values change all the time, that is the risk of stocking too much. This happened to architects not once but twice. They increase the BER on harvestors. Deal with it, don't create too much stock ahead of time.

Also, now you might actually sell a new deed instead of someone buying a used one.

The loot really cuts both ways. I'd say that easily 95% of the loot is absolute garbage. 4% is passable. 1% is exceptional.

Sure there are 101 speed Level 6 engines out there. But the VAST majority of them are significantly worse than what can be crafted, now.

I was actually looking forward to maybe making engines that someone would want over a looted engine. However, the increase to the engine top speed is minimal, it needs to be also applied to the MINIMUM engine speed, and have an increased spread of effectiveness. They really need to increase the YPR maximum experimentation as well, I wouldn't want an engine with less than 55-60 in these values for my own personal ship, and I won't sell something as bad as we make to anyone else either, we need a massive boost in the effectiveness in the experimentation effect in that area as well.

Still waiting for capacitors to get a boost as well, right now all we can make are heavy pieces of junk, the energy cap is no where near as high as looted components, and the recharge rate is justa sadsad joke.

QFE -- What Rypht said. Crafted a Mark II engine this morning w/ some really nice resources.... still came out as nothing short of trash. Come on Devs, craft a few of these things, then look at what we're getting as loot. See massive differences... cause I do.

thanks for the factory fix, though i did redead7 factories, atleast the last 2 that where full will work now /grin and the moving of the schems, i had to scroll up and down those lists 2-3 times before i would find those things. kudos

As far as the mass changes?

150 chasis down the drain, if they all are changed,, gonna check.

I guess on the bright side, maybe my Tie will have a bit higher mass and i wont have as much trouble trying to stuff a mark 3 parts in it or i guess just find the great loot and RE then its all good right?

the funny thing about money sinks.. they nerf solo missions (which i totally agree with), but then add this rediculous chasis vendors buying stuff at 1k per tier. when as it is now, any shipwright worth thier hull plating is selling all reversed engineered parts, and dumped all there old chasis for the new ones they are making today. I could have sold the stuff i looted in 2 hours for 500k. Soo space has become the new solo mission. the janta of space, make your money selling the crap, and then keep your prized janta blood err ship engineand make the big bucks. I honestly dont see the difference well one you fly, and you dont need to buy, armor, buffs, or weapons,, just chasis and loot away.

I know there are scheduls to keep, and i know its not always the devs fault, but this should have been done in beta. we went through how many mass changes there? and judging from the posts on the boards, all the top issues are the same ones that the beta people where talking about a month ago. An other month of beta, even 2 would have done a world of good. Too late now, cant cry over spilt milk. But lets get this stuff hammered out.

Crafted capacitors suck big time compared to looted ones.

crafted shields could also use a bit of a poerformance boost. the best mrk 3 i can do at the moment gives 1204.86 shileds but the looted one i'm using is 1789.98

the engine spd increase seems to be affecting NPC's cause they are uber fast now.

I think the changes are definately steps in the right direction. And i agree with everything that everyone has stated thus far.My main concerns for the profession still are the inferiorly crafted components using quality resourcesvs. looted components.

YPR definately needs to be increased for our crafted engines to compete with the looted items. Our crafted capacitors and boosters cannot compare with the looted ones either. Truely sad when you use the best resources to craft Mark 3 and 4 components and a Mark 1 looted component is much better.

The looted items that are hurting the SW's should be revamped and stats equally balanced overall compared to master crafted componenetsOR loot left as is and changes need to be implementedto give theability to craft better components period. I realize that there will be "exceptional" spaceloot, but the average loot still kills what we can craft. And now with the increase in loot drops.....well i fear none of us will sell another component besides armor, shields, and weapons.

I was one of those that started buying lootto REand offerbetter components to my customers, spending a few 100K a week in purchasing, but now if i have to pay 1k per level im going to be forced to up my prices on RE sales which i dont want too, andthat REALLY sux formy customers. Please drop the cost of the npc's buying loot to 1K. If you dont, as someone has already stated in a post earlier, space will turn into the new solo missions for JTL players.

Again, basically a great first step for our profession. Devs keep the good changes coming and lets not stop just yet.
