Well I crafted a couple of the New Engines this morning and have the stats for you - These are using pretty much the best resources we have on tempest and I fully experimented on the Speed line first

Mark 3

Speed: 71.4

y/p/r: 52

Mark 5

Speed: 102.6

y/p/r: 53

A good increase in engine speed not sure if it is enough, I might be able to squeak out a little more power by switching upto some of the 998 OQ Steel I have from the 970 OQ stuff I used on these. I will be crafting more tonight when I get home from work and will post stats when I'm done

Are you going to make a way for me to trade in my chassi deeds for updated ones? I have been building up chassi stocks since day one of space and was about to open my shipyards this week. You invalidated half my stock. I'm going to loose quite alot of money now.

The list of my ship components is now double-spaced in my crafting tool, I know it's not just me since another shipwright in our PA logged on and immediately complained about the same thing. This makes finding anything incredibly difficult since the list is now so long, plus I can't find anywhere in ctl-O to change font characteristics.

Any chance this might get fixed fast?

While higher ship masses for freelance ships was indeed needed, you have simply screwed every shipwright who has stocked vendors with chassis. I have 7 Rihkxyrk chassis on my vendor that are now completely useless. Do you ever think before making such changes??

Well, you can always sell them for 1/3 less.

Part of me says you should have been watching the boards on this, the other part wants the trade up as well.

Hello Folks,

Today's publish included changes to Shipwrights and we would like to gather your constructive feedback on these changes.

Profession: Shipwright

  • Increased possible max armor stats for Mark IV and V Durasteel Plating
  • Ship Components don't display yaw, pitch, or roll acceleration values, since these are determined by the chassis, not the engine
  • Existing equipment factories that would not take shipwright schematics should now accept them
  • Moved missile and countermeasure launchers to separate categories in the crafting tool

UI

  • Fixed planet sizes on the galaxy maps for ground and space.
  • Fixed broken icons
  • Fixed a bug that caused ship vendors to not display on the planetary map.
  • The Toolbar is always visible.

Not mine....

And i still have not decided if i like the loot thing either since the main stay of my old Business was REing parts. But i guess that will change now cause i guess it is going to have to be crafting if i want to turn a profit.

Mark 1 Capacitors are nowequal toor better then lvl 1 loots. However Lvl 2 Capacitors (looted), which fall in great quantity have better recharge then Mark2 (lvl3) through Mark4 (lvl7), there is just no reason to ever craft these. This is a balance issue.

The seperation of the Launchers helps clean up the weapon category, thank you. That being said, changing the names of the chaff and blaster/ion/disruptors to reflect the mark system used in every other component would be very helpful.

Iam 0400 Shipwright - expert on engines. ONLY CHANGE IN 11.2 IS INCREASED SPEED and removed acceleration stats. With same resources speed on Mark V with overdriver IV went from 89 to 101. But turning rates are still TOO LOW. I have very good resources, mining only the best available for engines ! Checking swgcraft.com three times per day to stay informed about the best resources for engines. And turning rates still about 51 on Mark V with great success assembly. Ooo great, who wants Mark V 33K mass 51 rates 101 speed? Nobody? Strange....

Waiting for
PATCH FOR MASS ON CRAFTED COMPONENTS

PATCH WHAT WILL INCREASE YAW/PITCH/ROLL RATES ON CRAFTED ENGINES.
Without that crafted engines = junk.

I feel the speed changes were a nice addition to help make our crafted engines more competative with looted and RE'd items. However the lower Y/P/R still make them a poor second choice for most pilots. As a Master Shipwright I am much better off putting my efforts into RE'ing good items than I am in making ship components. To me this should be on a more level playing field. As it is now I become a supplier of ordinance, mainly rockets and countermeasure kits.

Selling off of looted space items for $1K per level. Ouch! I don't mind the cash generated for the player, but now those items are lost to us Shipwrights for us to RE. I depend on these RE-able items to have better stuff for my guild as well as for trying to gain the Firespray schematic. What about this idea: Maintain the selling of the space loot to the Ship Chassis NPC for $1K per level....but allow Master Shipwrights to buy those looted items back from the Ship Chassis NPC for $1K per level also. This would give insentive to be a Master Shipwright and still allow us to get as much looted space items as we need for RE'ing.

As others have said, capacitors that we can craft are really poor compared to looted ones. I am also a pilot and can use up to Level 7 components....yet I use a Level 4 looted capacitor because it's better than what I can make for myself at Level 7.

In general though nice changes and we are headed in the right direction. Just don't stop listening now! Keep up the great work.

It is an MMO values change all the time, that is the risk of stocking too much. This happened to architects not once but twice. They increase the BER on harvestors. Deal with it, don't create too much stock ahead of time.
Also, now you might actually sell a new deed instead of someone buying a used one.

You realize that given the nature of Shipwright-- the heavy resource requirement, the hand-crafting, etc.-- that NOT pre-stocking on whatever you know is selling is an invitation to be swamped with work and unable to fill mass orders when a guy and a bunch of his friends all decide they needs ships from you suddenly? I'm not really affected by this, since I mostly sell Rebel ships, and even if I was, I'd just deal with it, but saying that the solution is "don't stock a bunch of stuff" is really naive on your part.

Let's face it-- people have a certain amount of right to being upset. We spend hundreds of thousands in resources building a handful of ships, and now they're going to have to be sold under cost to make anything back on them. Even if a shipwright only had two or three of each ship in stock before the patch (which isn't a huge load of stocking, really), you're still talking potentially hundreds of thousands of credits lost, depending on what they were. Personally, I'll shrug and eat the loss on the 2-3 ships I have that got affected by this, and make it up the best I can, but I don't think it's too unreasonable to be upset at the hit this represents for many of us. Especially when the people getting hit hardest are those that were putting in a lot of effort to be a good SW with a good selection in-stock.

Tiggs, in regard to Droid Interfaces (which you forgot to copy here :smileywink. I did a couple of crafting experiments, and from that and the patch notes a lower droid command speed is better. Problem I found is when reverse engineering looted Interfaces, the game selects the highest command speed (if RE'ing lvl 2 or higher) and then applies the RE % bonus to INCREASE the command speed - so RE'ing makes it worse. Can anyone else confirm this? Now, I'll admit I was RE'ing a RE lvl 1 and 2 pre-today's publish interfaces, but hey
