Bio-Engineers.

They're similar to shipwrights in that they can only make subcomponents (tissues) in factories and those subcomponents are not even for their use, but for Tailors and Chefs. They're also a lot worse off when it comes to resources in that a large part of their subcomponent resources are animal based (meat, milk, mollusc) and has to be harvested by hand. All the DNA for their main source of income (BE pets) has to be hand harvested by the BE and is generally dangerous work.

Imagine how you would feel if you had to hand sample resources and each time you did there was a fair chance you would die.

Edit: for spelling

You want to know whats funny is,I seen u in beta, you were active in the beta boards. Why bring this over here, this topic was played out. You know this.

Just by the title of it and the first post, its a cry. If you did not want to be taken as a cry then you might of worked it different.

Maybe something like this "lets sound off on the factory for ship parts idea, think it will change?"

Look bro I'm not trying to flam you, and if you take it that way, I can not change that. The fact is its a done subject.

The decision is currently made. It may change in the future when we have more experience with the shipwright business. It won't change soon.

You two might want to either agree to disagree and/or take your quarrel to private messages - it isn't adding much to the subject.

But chef's and taylor's can both use the tissues in factory runs.

This topic was beat to death in the beta and the devs never replied. Well they did once and they pretty much told us to fuc|< off. That was well over a month ago and haven't heard anything more on the topic from a red name since.

Hand crafting will quickly cut out those who are doing it just to try and make a massive profit and those who are doing it for the fun and full experiance...

By having to hand craft you solve several problems...

Lot Trades

- this way 30 factories are not churnning out millions worth of equipment and ships

Forces Customer interaction not this blind hit a vendor and instent satisfaction!

Shipwrights are the CUSTOM "CHOPPER/CAR" Guys of SWG... not Mass production Plants

thats what Sienar Fleet Systems(TIES) and Kuat Drive Yards(Star Destroyers)and Corellian Engineering Corp(YT-1300s) are all about!!

So dont craft. Its not that hard. I would love to be able to buff myself, but that would mean dropping the skills I like. SO I dont buff myself. I would also love to run the DWB or Vette, but I would have to drop skills I value more to get the combat skills I would need. Lucky for you, Pilot does not take any skill points, so you can be a SW and still fly. So, just craft for yourself then. Lots of people will be doing it to avoid paying someone else. Set an expectation for how much time you want to fly, as it seems this might e more important, then fill in those other hours with crafting.

And to the person who complained there are already too many time sinks in game? Thats what this kind of game is *designed* to do! Soak up as much time as it can, so you will keep paying every month! If they removed all the time sinks, you would "beat" the game in a month, and quit! Its in their best interest to "encourage" you to spend as much time as possible playing the game. Once you accept that fact, it seems to get easier to swallow the little things that annoy us.

We all have different definitions of what things we enjoy and what we don't. I try to make a point NOT to judge how other people choose to have fun based on *my* preferences.

I'm not suggesting that we wait and have a dialog in 1-2 months because I believe the anti-Evil-factory-users faction is correct. I'm suggesting it because I don't believe we'll be able to have a meaningful dialog with the developers prior to that - it's strictly pragmatics on my part.

Right now it doesn't matter what I think, or what you think - the fact remains that the use of a factory to run shipwright products is curtailed at the moment. I think that beating our gums about it now is a total waste of everyone's time. I would rather spend my time - and yours - addressing the host of other issues that we'll need to sort out about this profession.
