5 Stars for you....I'm an old E&B player too, I just started it a little late and then Galaxies came out so I only really played it for a couple months.

And.........if Obi-Wan had stayed in the fight and engaged Jango (instead of hiding on an asteroid), Jango MOST LIKELY would have blown him out of the sky.

Im really really eager to get some info on exactly how the space mining will work. it seems obvious we wont be getting static harvestors in space (THANK GOD!!) so i have to agree on the idea that itll be like sampling on ground but with much larger results. I bet it will be most if not all Shipwright resources as well. Anyone can use those butSW's NEED em for all the advanced stuff.

It would be great if ahving a crew with you could make your mining expedition more productive, like if there is an interactive element to it that a group could partake in. Would be fun =)

Well if we are going to be able to mine huge amounts of resources here, I guess that answers a few questions about the resource requirements for any future capital ships.!!

They mentioned that all ships will be capable of doing the mining, so I'm betting that there will be a mining "Weapon" that you can load up and either blast the asteroids to raw materials or do something similar to an inspect, where you have to hang around until the materials appear in your inventory.

I'm looking forward to the mining ship chassis, but I'm wondering where the certification will come in, at master like most other MP ships or someplace else? Will there be a seperate Rebel/Neutral/Imperial chassis? Given the timeframe I kind of doubt it.

OT: I would also like to see the ability to loot materials from freighters, just a random amount, let us be pirates or cut off enemy supply lines if we can.

I would suspect there will be MULTIPLE levels of mining ships.... varying in size and capacity. And with the varying size/ability/cargo space will vary the crew size and the skill certifications to pilot them.

I really doubt it. There may be multiple levels of "mining tools", but multiple ships means multiple artworks.

Just to throw out awhat if....ur...if's

What if: The mining ships are bigger because you have to haul a Mining Structure that is place on or near the astroid you are going to mine?

What if: Space mining will be more like ground. I'm sorry, but if it is hand sampling in space, i will be very sad and upset. That is the only thing i ever grinded on my toon, and it was from shear boredom because there is no fun way around it.

What if: All the resource you mine in space also account against you ships mass?

I just wanted to throw them out before we all get some notion on how it will be then find out we were entirely wrong and then get totally upset because the devs didn't do it to your perspective.
